I think those stats above show what a consistent (and good) player this guy is. Fancy have the exact same average in ODI's as First Class cricket. Has it ever happened before?

he plays for essex in england who i go and see play often, he is a very attacking batsman and is mainly used coming in at 5 in the one day game, his bowling is all right but only stready mediam pace not to disimliar o f our chacha, but he is a good partnership breaker

he is one of the best feilding in the county game in england, he is still trying to force his way into essexes 4 day team

How can he not be a regular in their First Class team? This guy is a superstar!
He just made 259* for the Netherlands in an Intercontinental Cup match!

Essex have Andy Flower and Grant Flower don't they? Wow, when this guy gets into their 4 day team, it will certainly be a task to beat them...

How does that work? Is ten Doeschate a Kolpak?

Are the Essex selectors ants?

Hell, not including Grant Flower in the team (unless it is a Kolpak restriction) is absurd. They guy was one of the best Test batsmen going around a few years ago...

Compare Doeschate's FC batting stats for Essex and Netherlands-

Team Matches Inns Not Out Runs HS Ave 100 50
Essex 15 18 2 556 105* 34.75 2 2
Netherlands 5 6 2 770 259* 192.50 4 1

Source (http://cricketarchive.com/Archive/Players/44/44713/f_Batting_by_Team.html)

Shows you the clear difference between county cricket and intercontinental cup. Anyway, Doeschate is prolly the best batsman at associate level at this point.

It would be great to have an "Associate Bests" team playing one day and first class matches to "A" teams of the Test countries. It would be quite competitive with players like Tikolo, Davison, Morgan, Odoyo, Codrington etc... and it would be much enjoyable for both fans and cricketers of non-test countries.
Also, this could help in spreading cricket in all the world.
