yeah i hope the BD team doesn't underestimate the Scots and loose like we did to Canada. That will be the worst thing to happen before the world cup!

They certainly look like a cricket team don't they? I mean there physical appearance and ability are in the ranks with Australian and south african players and no doubt that they are way fitter then any asian teams. I do agree with the above post cos this Scotland has been winning regular games in county circuit. I think BD will still win helped by spin attack, home condition and tail end batting as I have a bad feeling about our top order against them.

If the ability of the Scotish team is equal to the Aussies or SA then Scottish for the World champions! Merely physical structure dosen't help in cricket, you have to be technically correct. And of course you have to utilize your merit. Cricket has to be in your blood.

Well...I gotta agree with you on the fitness thing, even so, we cant base any conclusions on just that. I couldnt find too many recent county teams scotland played against, but, they did play against Ireland quite often within the last year. If youd check it out, id say, based on what i saw, that Ireland faired better. They did however, give Pakistan quite a fight back in June, so we cant write them off........ *yet*:p

We must prepare two spin friendly piches for both matches to give Scotts problems. Otherwise a pich like the one between BD a vs. ZIm XI will give upperhand to Scotts and BD may find it hard against their pace bowlers. :shh:

Scots are fit??
Lazy old bunch of people as mentioned by TheWatcher in some other thread.

Postponed practice match (now shifted to 14th) due to jet lag.

Can't imagine this happening in international cricket.

Why do everybody think so negative?

I think the Scottish will not even stand the chance to play some competitive cricket.

General consensus is that they are fitter and stronger than any of the Asian team. Technically offcourse, BD are stronger with good seam and spin attack, but hey, if BD become complacent then I firmly believe that This Scottish team can beat Bangladesh.

Nah, im just messing around:-D , i definately agree. We cant base anything simply on the fact that they are fit.

I don't Think Scotland Can Perform Well in Bangladeshi Soil. It will be Too Difficult for Them. At Best I can Expect, Scotland will Provide a Tough Situation, While Bangladeshi Batting. Because Our Batsman has Huge Lackings Till Now.

But in International Cricket, Anything Can be Possible. Let's Watch..........................

Our third "tear" team is almost as good as our first team, so there is not much difference. On the other hand our first team is reknowned for pathetic display of batting that only they can achieve. The players from the BCCB XI is our future national team so dont take them lightly. Just like this generation of players are better than the previous one I think the newer generation to replace the current lot would be much better in terms of consistency.

If Bangladesh wants to assert their supemacy they should field their most potent bowling line up. Blast them with pace, I say. Shahadat, Mashrafee and Rasel all should play. And Razzak's our specialist spinner. My ODI lineup would have been:

Mehrab
Nafees
Aftab
Sakib
Bashar
Ashraful
Mushfiq
Mashrafee
Razzak
Shahadat
Rasel

where is rafiq?? this is the first time i saw a Bd team without rafiq. even though rajjak has some good figures lately, i still think rafiq is of more utility than him. Besides Bd cant blast a team with pace, they dont have tear away quickies. mash and shahadat are medium fast at best. Russel gets clobbered when he faces quality batsmen. Bd should play its best bowlers and i would choose both spinners rafiq and rajjak at the moment(including WC).

rafiq has been rested for the first odi.

we might lose one of the odi's if our batsmen repeat what they had done three years ago against canada in the world cup. just because we beat zimbabwe five to nothing and are playing against scotland doesn't mean that we have to take an easy win for granted. as long as our batsmen understand that bit, and play with a cool head, i don't see why we should lose anything in this series.
