Finally a hard fought win seems to be happening.
This should not cover the weakness of the brittle middle order.
Only Mushfiq's presence saved the blushes for us.
He should be playing consistently from Now on.

OH MAN!!! I am sooooooo happy! I woke up in the morning and Zimbabwe were at 204/5, on course for victory. i was really, really down. almost an hour later, here i am at work, unable to believe my eyes! 10 runs off 6.4 overs, with all of the last five wickets down! must've been one heck of a bowling performance! especially when tapash and sharif were beaten up and went wicketless earlier in the day! this was a great, great comeback. sure, i have a LOT to complain about, but for now, just for the next couple of hours, i will leave that and celebrate this victory. if we'd lost this game, we would've gone to hell. good to see that's not happenning. might have been a narrow escape, but for the next few hours, i'm a happy man if nothing else goes wrong.

on a different note, how could cricinfo showed a wrong score (still showing) of an ODI (204/5 in43 overs). its hard to believe that they coudlnt get a correspondence inside when local TV was broadcasting. this shows how much value they put on a BD game. really dissapointing show from CI.

Now that the game is over time for the finger pointing to start.
Obviously I havent seen the game. But seems like Ash and Aftab put on the Houdini act again when the team needed them the most.
Nafees, Bashar, Mushfiq not capitalizing on starts is also a matter of conern.

Stop being so happy when this is so alarming that before the world cup we are still the same team as we were two/three years ago. Our batsmen have no form at all and once in a blue moon they score fifty. Without Mash, Rajib and Rafique nobody is good enough to bowl. Do you think with this team we can give any fight in WC!!!

Oh - didn't anyone notice Sharif's 1 ball less 10 overs today earlier? What happened there?
I guess this is what Martin of Cricinfo was saying earlier about getting the correct figures.
Who caused the run outs in the Zimbabwe innings for Bangladesh?
Didn't Tapash-Razzak partnership took a few more runs extra in the last 2 overs (may be it was 28 runs in the last 2 overs, or was it 16 runs?
When we set a target of 228, I thought the match would be close, but later when Zimbabwe were 82 for no loss, I lost all hope and thought the match was finished for us! What happened next? Who caused the first breakthrough?

We all know it that Mushfiq is a much better batsman than Pilot, but what about his keeping?
Can Mushfiq come in as a specialist batsman? If not, then I don't see there's a long way to go for him.

Very good win, very satisfying, no doubt. But some of the batsmen should be flogged.

I Disagree! 2/3 years back our team was incapable of converting the close finishes into wins. It's frustrating nevertheless to observe potential star players failing to score. However, I am happy with the way this match has proceeded (including the screwups)- Its given us a chance to observe some changes about the current bd side:
-The batting department don't have to rely on specific individual players to put up a big score.
-Fielding overall was great. A lot more players contributing in the field making up for a bad performance and their presence being felt.
-We not only have good finishers with the bat(I'm referring to aftab and mash here)- now we know we have finishers with the ball as well, taking into consideration that two of the regular bowlers had been ommited for the match(rafique & shahadat)
-Finally! you've got to admit this was a great "protishud" of the previous occasion(as some1 mentioned b4 the start of play) :P - And you only have ash, tamim, aftab and shakib to thank: if it weren't for them this match would have just been another one sided bd affair ..I personally would've fancied waching mash settling up his individual quota of "protishud" by bowling the last over- but i'm glad bashar din't think the same way.

Shahriar Nafees was the man of the match.
Just from an observer's point of view, I think Mushfique will do a pretty decent job as a keeper and a reliable batsman. Whether he should be the one going to the world Cup is anybody's guess but I just love this scenario where we can at least have a debate on the wicket-keeper's position. This means we are moving ahead and have choices rather than just one option.

I must say I'm very shocked, even though relieved from today's result. I got increasingly frustrated of our failure to hold Zim back and gave up hope when they needed just 25 from 40-something balls with 5 wickets in hand. This is a remarkable fightback, regardless of the opponent. I guess we have our fielders to thank for that. Also well done to Mushfiq for supporting Nafees with a valuable inning.

I watched Mushfiq's keeping on Channel-I during Kenya match - he is at par with Pilot. Period.
But I never felt much excited about Mushfiq's batting ... starting from the Lord's test. I'd say, before today's match Mushfiq and Pilots batting was same quality. But today's performance under pressure is very promising.

7 positives and 7 negatives
Positives:
1. SN got some runs
2. Atlast Rahims showed us hope of future
3. Bashar had some useful runs
4. Good economical bowling of Mashrafee (as ususal) and Sakib
5. Taposh's wickect taking capability and only 2 extra runs given
6. Four run outs i.e. good fielding by specially young players
7. Able to fininsh a tight game, which was not easy
Negatives:
1. Again over all bad batting performance
2. three run outs, two involving Bashar.
3. Tamim's performance. Was given a chance in the first ball
4. Aftab's performace. Not helping at all building the innings after one quick wicket
5. Sakib's batting. I have high hopes for him, specially when there was a mini collupse.
6. Razzak and Sherif's bowling in general
7. Ash was again unable to take the opportunity. This time he was run out though. Therefore he will still continue to be in the team as dead wood.

So far, following is the batting performance of our top orders. You need to notice one thing that Mush played at ninth position in the first match and a run out there in the last over is pretty acceptable. As usual, the person with total failure is Ashraful who has no 30+ in three innings. Aftab has the worst performance except Ashraful. Sakib also didn't do good judgement to his potential. Anyone scoring 30+ twice in three outings is quite acceptable to me. From that point, SN, Hablu did pretty well. Mush is in 3rd place considering his batting positions (9th, 7th, 5th).
