Dear Moderators/Administrators
BC home page is still showing the brief match report for the first ODI between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. 2nd ODI is over for about 6 hours still there is nothing mentioned about the match. In my eyes, it does not look good for BC which is highly regarded for its quality.
I have written a match report for the second ODI which you can use (if you find appropriate) as BC report without mentioning my name.
Here's the report
Bangladesh Vs Zimbabwe, ODI 2, 6 February 2007
A wake up call? Zimbabwe level series 1-1.
Bangladesh has suffered a humiliating defeat in the 2nd ODI against Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe came back strongly to level the series 1-1. Bangladesh on the verge of repeating the happenings of the previous tour back in August 2006.
After winning toss, Bangladesh captain Habibul Bashar decided to bat first in overcast conditions. Zimbabwe bowlers took no time to prove the decision wrong and reduced Bangladesh to 50/5 within first 15 over of the match. It was a miserable display of batting by the top order and Bangladesh virtually lost the match at that point. Aftab and Sakib got reasonable start but failed in big time and batting looked the most difficult work on earth. The good old man, Mohammad Rafiq injected some respectability to the total. After a 56 run partnership between Mushfiqur rahim and Rafiq, Zimbabwe restricted Bangladesh to a miserable 153. Rafiq top scored with 41. Gary Brent was the wrecker in chief, he took 4 wickets for only 30 runs, Sean Williams took 3 wickets while Mpofu bagged two.
In reply, Terry Duffin and Vusi Sibanda gave Zimbabwe a solid start and laid the platfirm for an easy win. Zimbabwe reached the target in 35.2 overs losing the wickets of Duffin and H Masakadza. Congratulations to Zimbabwe for the memorable comeback after consecutively losing 14 ODI.
One might consider, Tigers just had a bad day at office. I beg to differ due to the pattern of the defeat. The match went out of the grasp within first hour play and it's Zimbabwe who was bowling not Australia or Sri Lanka.
Now, Whatever happened today, it is definitely a wake up call for Bangladesh ahead of World Cup Cricket. Players and team management should sit together and try to find out, what went horribly wrong? Another series loss to Zimbabwe would mean Bangladesh has achieved almost nothing in last one year.I hope you will understand my concern.
Kind regards,
Miraz

Nice match report. Keep it up.
In our local college sports of basketball (indoor) and Football (American) (outdoor) we have electronic screens (huge) that shows scores of previous games. One can see from the inter-state which is near by the stadiums. When the home team wins the score stays up for 2/3 days. when the home team loses the score is wiped off immidiately after the spectators exit.
The moral of the story is the less info of losses are broadcasted the better we feel, hehehe!!! May be BC will update your 2nd match report with your 3rd match report which would have a positive result for Bangladesh.

A well written report, Miraz.
btw, an off topic here for moderators attention. I wonder if the front page picture is really of Rafique's...since Rafique is a left hand batsman and the batsman in picture is a right hander.

It's not Rafique. The caption from AP is wrong. I can't make out who it really is tho.

With the height of the batsman seems like Aftab.
No longer Miraz is one of ours. He will become a staff when he gets the PM from Arnab. We (More like I) banish you from the legend status. Serves you right!!

Nasif bhai, what're the 4 other levels? We certainly don't want to abuse the forum to reach there, but still will be good to see where we could be after 5 years of dedicated membership :)

Here are the rest of them without the post count:
Cricket Sage
Cricket Deity
Supreme Being of Cricket
Actually, it was 3 more, not 4 as you can see :)

As promised, here's the match report for the 3rd ODI
Bangladesh continue to struggle? A hard fought win put them 2-1 ahead in the series
Bangladesh finally won the 3rd ODI of the Croco Motors Series by 14 runs and lead the series 2-1. It was a hard fought win for the tigers after a poor display with the bat. In response to a Bangladesh's modest total of 228/9, Zimbabwe looked cruising for victory but slipped due to a middle order collapse. After an opening stand of 91 between impressive looking Vusi Sibanda and Terry Duffin, Zimbabwe looked set for yet another win at 202/5 with Elton Chigumbura and Keith Dabengwa playing sensibly. From that point, everything went Bangladesh's way as the last 5 wickets of Zimbabwean innings fell for just 12 runs. Bangladesh showed impressive performance in the field as four Zimbabwe batsmen were run out.
Earlier, Zimbabwe won the toss and sent Bangladesh to bat. New boy Tamim Iqbal failed to seize the opportunity and scored only 5 before getting out. Aftab Ahmed fell shortly and suddenly Bangladesh was reduced to 36/3. Team management sent Mushfiqur Rahim ahead of Habibul Bashar and Mohammad Ashraful to start reconstruction. Mushfiq paid the faith in style. He along with Shariar Nafees shared a 100 run partnership and Bangladesh recovered to 136/3.
When things looked good and Bangladesh was set for a big total, they suffered yet another middle order disintegration and found themselves struggling at 163/6 in 40.5 overs. After a brief rain stop Bangladesh's misery continued and Zimbabwe bowlers plucked wickets at regular intervals. Some late strike from two opening bowlers Mashrafee Mortaza (29) and Tapash Baisya (28*) added some sort of respectability to Bangladesh's total. They finally finished the innings scoring 228/9 from 50 overs. Shahriar Nafees top scored with 69 runs while Mushfiqur Rahim added invaluable 42 runs.
Continuous failure of Mohammad Ashraful in the middle order is a huge concern for Bangladesh as world cup is within sight. Bangladesh's batting order is showing its familiar faces and this can cost us badly in the Caribbeans.
Despite todays win, Bangladesh has not fully recovered from last ODI's debacle. Now, Bangladesh must establish their domination by winning the final ODI in style to get back the lost confidence.
