after world cup he should get a chance and play 5 match continously. i am sure he can prove himself in the national team. Its unfortunate not to see him in the national team. he was selected in the national team and dropped without playing any match. lets be fair with him. he is a good off spinner and wicket kipper too. and definitely a good captain and good multi skill player. i think he deserve a full tornament without fearing of dropped of from team

He did play a match. He played in the 3rd ODI VS Zimbabwe in 2007. Scored a golden duck. It might be unfortunate that he was dropped after that single performance, but you cant keep giving free rides to players hoping for that one big one. Thats how Ashrafuls are born...Maybe after a few more good performances in the A level. Lets wait for the OD matches with Eng A

alok failed about thousand time before he was dropped. ashraful fails thousand time and does awesom one time and he keeps his position. tushar fails one time and he is dropped. tushar should get to play 5/6 games straight without being dropped. if he doesnt do well on those games then selectors can look at somebody else. but he deserves a chance.

I like Tushar, but you can not pick him right after one good performance. Keep in mind, it was his lucky day to make 128*, he survived twice in one over! It's "A" team, big guys won't give you two chances.

Probably Tushar Imran will get his chance given that Bangladeshi selectors always love to change 1-2 players after each series. :)

i think hes OK for TEST but not for ODI's.. as hes gonna play at position 6/7 if hes slected...he doesnt fit in that position..he would just eat the ball....

Tusher is an interesting player. But i am sure he is another Al-Shahriar Rokon, one of our ex- talent mine.

minimum of 3 ODIs or a 2 test series at a stress. That would put all the talks behind. For or against only this is how one can be judged. I think Indian series at home is a perfect way to give him enough chance.

I think we should rate his England A innings higher than any Zimbabwe or Kenya innings. The quality of bowling is way better in England A.

yes. the gap between our A team and theirs is also humongous - they have some decent test players, as well as a few with good county experience, wheareas most of our players are newbies. in that regard, i'm happy with the way we fought back in both games.

lets give him the proper chances like others in the national team. I might be wrong, but have the idea that he is a consistent performer in the A team and practice matches but could not translate it into the real matches..........But he should be given eaual opportunity.

Yep, the point everyone else is missing here.

Anyway, Tushar still has the oneday series against England-A and a whole A-team tour of Sri Lanka to prove himself.

Chances are the part of the game......whatever TITAN you are playing against.....you capitalize on the chances given and you smile at the end of the day.........dont underestimate his innings.........everyone other else failed to do their job......but he did it. Give him his due credit.

You are again missing the point- this is not the first time TI gave chances in the beginning of his innings, he was also given two early lives in the first innings of first four day match. He is apparently a very shaky batsman beginning of his innings. Why else do you think he ends up with a single digit score so often ?

i think, he doesnt need to prove anything. he is already a proven performer. all he needs is a series, not one match and drop for 5 matches. Think about mahela jaywhardhane, he was failed in the world cup miserably but still he got chance and now see his position. same way, player like marlon samuels, brad hodge was given chance. we give too much chance to kapali, ashraful but why not tushar. i dont think anybody is more consistent than him in A team.its not easy to perform against big A team. England a team is always better than main England team in one day.

All batsman are shaky at the beginning from the great Sachin Tendulkar to Shahadat Hossain.

Check the other thread. Twice he has been given long run. Both time he failed to establish himself.

I know, but our Tushar Imran here is an extra special case. Remember the golden duck he got in his last ODI ? It was a totally pressure free situation where he had to score few runs to complete the chase with plenty of overs in hand, but our dear TI still managed to choke himself.

BTW, I agree he is a very talented batsman, and that he is not a careless slogger like Rokon.

ok guys, come on! Just have a look at the stat. After 37 ODI's his average is 15.19. Most of the bangladeshi bowlers have better average than the does. And in test, he probably has the lowest average of a player who played 8 innings as specialist batsman. And as someone pointed out, he got enough successive chances. What else do you need to show that he is hopeless? Just think about the last matches he played. coming to the crease when he had no pressure at all, he had a first ball duck.

even more importantly, who else do you want to replace with tushar? He is just another rokon. The sooner we realize that, the better.

Poor Tushar! Lets give him chance when we play home series. It might be helpful for his build, in place of whom?? ... dont ask me please! ... when Bashar gets hurt or something like that.

IMO he should be get few more Tests on a consistent basis. I think he did better in the longer version of the game in practice matches and A team tours.

We have Bashar, Michael Slater as example of successful aggressive Test batsman but poor ODI player.
