I hope we can beat NZ in the warmup match. However, every BD good show is followed by a few bad-shows. In such a case, beating India is of ultimate importance.

Sad thing is these matches are not official. Even if Irishes can win this, it won't be recorded as an official ODI victory.

Here is the news from BDnews24.com about tomorrows BD vs NZ......probably you have already read in the tigercricket.com............Big (or not!) news is, JO is playing. And BD will play (hopefully) with 3 pacers since Rafiq is not playing either!

Dhaka, March 5 (bdnews24.com) - After a good warm-up tournament involving Bermuda and Canada in the last week, Bangladesh take on New Zealand in the first official World Cup practice match Tuesday.

The match will start at 7:30pm (BST) at the newly built 3Ws Oval in Bridgetown.

Bangladesh earlier lost all the seven matches they had played against the Black Caps, and New Zealand are the only ICC full member nation against whom the Tigers have never posted 200 runs.

The Bangladesh team management declared a 12-man squad for the match keeping out opener Shahriar Nafees, ace spinner Mohammad Rafique and Rajin Saleh, according to tigercricket.com, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) website.

"Nafees went to a local dentist yesterday (Sunday) following toothache and has had a tooth extracted. He is in a bit of pain now. Rafique has complained of back-pain. The others are all fit," Bangladesh assistant coach Mohammad Salahuddin was quoted as saying to the website.

The exclusion of Nafees and Rajin means Javed Omar to open the innings with teenaged Tamim Iqbal after the gritty opener sat out two matches against Bermuda and Canada.

Salahuddin spoke before Monday's practice.

Squad: Habibul Bashar (Captain), Tamim Iqbal, Aftab Ahmed, Shakib Al Hasan, Mohammad Ashraful, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Abdur Razzak, Shahadat Hossain Rajib, Tapash Baishya, Syed Rasel and Javed Omer.

They have only played 1 match against a test nation (England) and have scored 263, which was also their inagural ODI
Their batsmen have already scored 5 centuries.

I wanna see an update on the Ireland game, but i think pollock will eat them alive anyway

maybe, and maybe not. they are used to playing similar bowlers at home/in county games (not of his class, of course, just "similar"), and their batsmen are not all that crappy. just look at Mridul bhai's stats :)

having said that, if Ntini and Pollock fire, they might be bundled out for less than 100.

I don't know why so many people blame ICC for holding Kenya back. Back in the time Kenya Cricket was based on only 3-4 families. Still the sport is limited to Nairobi and Mombasa, cities that have large Indian communities. Putting aside the fact that some Kenyans played in world cup as early as 1975 for East Africa, they organized ICC Trophy in 1993 and played in WC four years earlier than we did- still cricket failed to create the craze that we have seen in Bangladesh even in early nintees. Their former cricket admistrator Sharad Ghai managed to embezzle their cricket fund and put the sport in shamble because their government did not give a rat's *** how the game was managed in the country. And still people want to blame ICC for Kenya's failure to progress !

tendulkar is not playing today, any links to live audio or video feed? any place to get live ball by ball update for the rest of the matches?

No one is following the warm up matches today????

Indian seamers might give us trouble by bowling in line and angling out, easy temptation for a nick to give catch behind the stumps

Indian bowling is quite underrated as I mentioned earlier. Zaheer Khan and Munaf Patel can be dangerous in any given day. Pathan is getting his form back which can't be a good sign either.

Indeed. We are in the toughest group as far as I am concerned based on the pitches for this WC. Have you noticed how teams are underusing their pacers? Instead, spinners, fulltime/parttime are finishing the quotas. SL and Ind, both are strong in that department. SA, WI, Eng won't go that far in super 8. I really think one of the sub-continent teams will win this year . You can never count the Aussies out either.

I think the key factor in Caribbean is not to lose wickets early. Morning dumpness is helping the seamers. If openers can survive the first ten overs, they should find wickets to be far easier to bat onwards.

let's hope bashar's luck with the toss continues, and we get to bowl first on all matches E-)

Just noticed that Lanka played without Vaas and Jayasuriya today, I wonder why. Did they underestimate NZ or just did not care for a warm-up match win that much ?

I am sure they wanted test who would be their third pacer. Maharoof or Fernando. Looks like Maharoof will get the node. Malinga and Vass are automatic. And as for Sanath, what was the theory of NZ losing to BD? India will have some nice surprizes in their group matches.
