Its time for a long term captain. I am tired of over the hill guys, leading us in a 10 against 11 fight.
We need an intelligent captain.
We need a captain who is aggressive.
We need a captain who is calculative.
We need a captain who is liked by the players.
We need a captain who performs on the field.
We need a captain who will be in the team for a long time.
We need a captain who will grow with the team.
This age discrimination has to stop.

From a realistic point of view, Bashar is going to stay as captain for atleast another year. We just don't have any other player to take that post. Every other player is far too young and inexperience to take the charge of the team.
My vote would go to Sakib too but he is very young and one of the junior member of the team. I believe he should be allowed to play for atleast another 2 to 3 years to soak in as much experience as possible because he has the temperment to become a very good and solid player for BD. Till then we might be very much stuck with Bashar.

Mohammad Ashraful.. he has more experience than any other batsmen.. he captained in many club tournaments.... plus hes better in every department.....
today i dont know if u noticed or not.. bashar was taking tips from ashraful on the field... he didnt call nafees...
nafees is very inexperienced.. i dont think he can read pitches well.... but he can be a good captain in 2/3 yrs..but hes not ready now.. hes very aggressive than anyone else..but hes not the guy we need now as a captain...

.
He can be ,but I would rather not give him more pressure by appointing him as a leader of BD team, as he is the best batsmen of Bangladesh(As this might affect his batting ).Remember, Captaining Club tournament is quite different from captianing national side .

I agree but not until 2009/2010. He's still too young but posesses a fine cricket mind. Actually I think among the present lot he's the only natural choice.

after bashr retires SN becomes the captain which we all know.
From Richard Mcinnes to bcb officials to team mangmnt every in favour of SN
and that why SN has been made the VC now.
So,may b after bashar steps dwn from captaincy we will have to bear SN's bad performance in the field. I hope its not like that. Hope SN perfroms well...

The only fallacy of grooming Nafees as the future captain is that I'm not too convinced that he's going to be in the team beyond the next 3-4 years. He's the least naturally gifted out of all our youngsters.
