Naah...I just woke at 4 in the morning to see BD bat. :(

Sham
September 21, 2003, 03:34 AM
We are fielding the same XI as the last match. Good idea in my opinion. The Pakis have brought in Hameed for Nazir and Shabbir in place of our favourite Junaid Zia.

Nasif

Chasing and winning........... agrrrrrrrrrrr:(

Sham
September 21, 2003, 03:36 AM

Mohammad
September 21, 2003, 03:38 AM

Grrrr., I did not go to the Advising today to see Pakistan go to 92 without loss. The batsman must pay for all the poor decisions (by coach - team management), poor bowling and poor fielding.

What happened with the first wicket
Cricinfo says stumped
Cricketnext says bowled

Mridul
September 21, 2003, 05:44 AM

rafiq
September 21, 2003, 05:51 AM
this doesn't look like a great start to our Sunday. Pak on taget for 292-300. yikes!

rafiq
September 21, 2003, 05:53 AM

Zobair

rafiq
September 21, 2003, 06:01 AM
another stumping, this time off saleh. thankfully yasir didn't help himself to another century. let's hope we can stem the runs a bit

At least Dave Whatmore is not experimenting unlike Mohsin Kamal, the Mr. If I had more 12 months ...., when we are playing a match that we should win (i.e., against Canada - Tapash Baisya came in first change) - in the first match of a WORLD CUP.

Youhanna Out. Mashrafee is the bowler at the 34/35th over. At least we have a morale victory there in not giving Youhanna his 5000th run by our bowlers.

James90
September 21, 2003, 06:10 AM
Youhana gone.....52 from 32
lbw b: Mashrafe

Fastest 50s and 100s (http://www-aus.cricket.org/link_to_database/STATS/ODIS/BATTING/ODI_BAT_FASTEST_100S.html)

Kalbaisakhi

Pakistan is now 188/3 of 36 overs.

If bd get inzi and Younis early then have a great chance 2 win.

September 21, 2003, 06:23 AM
Hey HAbibul its a good collection of 50's and 100's i copy this in my hd for ever.Thxz for this kind of statistis.

rafiq
September 21, 2003, 06:26 AM
Mashrafee gets younis. another lbw.

rafiq
September 21, 2003, 06:29 AM
realistically though, our batting is going to have a real tough time chasing 250+ (they are still on target to get closer to 300). but one can always hope! mahmud needs to bring himself on and get a couple of wickets so i can stay abreast in fantasy league!

oracle
September 21, 2003, 06:31 AM
Chasing 225 is tuff enough. 250 ? We need PAK collapse in a big way.

rafiq
September 21, 2003, 06:36 AM
Sujon has rotated bowlers well after Pak started running away with it. Hopefully he is smart over the last 10.

rafiq
September 21, 2003, 06:40 AM
mashrafee and rafique get smacked again. for anyone watching, is our bowling this bad today or is the wicket just not helping (the bowlers)?

rafiq
September 21, 2003, 06:55 AM
looks like they will get the 290 after all. I was hoping for an over or two from alok/rajin to see if the change could produce, but didn't happen.

rafiq
September 21, 2003, 07:21 AM
Man, that was a clinically efficient innings from our Pak brothers. Bangladesh team should learn something from the way they ran the innings from start to finish, finally taking the run rate over 6. Pak was due for a game like this.

Chat room fans are especially mad at Sujon today, but I didn't see anything drastically wrong with his rotation. He did some of the same things he has done in previous games (like bringing himself on at the end and again he took a wicket), but today he did a better job with rotation eg masri's second spell was 23-2. We had hope at 205 after 40, and giving up 97 runs in the last 10 is outrageous. But any of our bowlers would have been hit in those last 10.

Let's hope BD batsmen can at least cross 250 and take something out of this game.

oracle
September 21, 2003, 07:29 AM
I expected worse. Actually the pakistanis were kind. The way Youhana was playing, think if he stayed put. 360+??

Pundit
September 21, 2003, 08:49 AM
Didn't see the game, but if Inzi can get you out, how lazy are you then ? Sounds like some of the batsmen are just duumb mutts.

Just dissapointed seeing a very good pship be terminated like this.

AGC

Couldn't they play like this earlier? They have 8 wickets, they could have started taking risks way earlier. I think they just wanted their 50's....

All right guys, it's all over.
Bangladesh have improved a lot and they have out up a good fight and good luck against the POMS. Hope u guys win at least one match and i seriously believe u guys can do it if u can find at least 1 or 2 good bowlers who are capable of bowling a team out twice.
Pakistan on the other hand groomed their youngsters and the BEST news for Pakistan is emergence of Yasir Hameed who have played brilliantly and Umar Gul is also find of the tour.

Good luck for future and see u guys when u playe England.

Match is over and I'm not feeling bad. We fought till the end, we should hail the heros of this match, hannan, rajin and kapali. Very good work. 300 is always hard to achieve. We lost this game when we lost the toss. This was a very good show, somthing which was really due for BD fans. Hope they'll bring more like this with win. Bravo Tigers.

Cheers.

3 guys made 50's too...that sure is a step in the right direction. In fact, hanan, kapali and rajin have all performed consistently in this series. These 3 guys have a bright future ahead of them.

This was a good batting track and the Pakistanis were given a hand by Mushfiq opening. He is useful as a first change bowler but opening the attack is mostly reserved for someone like Masri. Pakistanis did not open with Shabbir AHmed and MOhamad Hafeez, did they ?

IN any case, Alok, Kapali and Hannan made a big difference for us in the series, they made us competitive in the ODIs and Sumoon is our undisputed Test leader along with Rafique. Sujon was simply lucky but how far can e go ? England will eat him alive.
