Habib never applies any new technique........the same bowling style every single match........doesn't attack hard..........very defensive.
exactly ... when batsman seem attacking, he immediately shifts to defensive, which encourages them to be more attacking ... a positive feedback loop

I understand that it's all about the game, but really, we're just missing those golden opportunities to make a breakthrough. That inside edge is one of them. The catch that didn't carry is another. Not a good sign...

We probably need a change. Shaghir Hossain might be good choice.

During the bowling, I take it easily if Bashar is not rotating the bowlers or setting the fielders correctly, edges are not carrying to the slips, Mushfiq is missing stumpings, catches, giving away by runs. The only thing matters is the missed gifted catches in the out-field.

We are quite defensive and clueless right now. Thats a difference between us an dother teams. We get happy and celebrate after a single win only to suck again in next games. Look at India. they lost to us but its as if they have kept everything behind and charging with vengence.

102 for 1, 20 overs.

Full of dropped chances, weak fielding placement, absolutely no pressure on the batsmen. I got work early morning. Guess I'll just have to see this trashing before going to bed. Hopefully Habbu uncle will smarten up a little bit and make some changes and the keep will be able to hold on to one/two clear edges.

The difference ? It's more down to missing opportunities and poor, poor captaincy. Given this kind of opportunity, even Ireland would look good. Oh wait, they did. They did thump us, didn;t they ? It's not the team, it's the way it's being led. A strong leader would easily turn this same team around and make it more competitive. So, there's not a huge difference between the two teams. Yes, India is a better team. But, not unbeatable.

for those who are feeling mad, please cool down and if you are looking for a win, please go for your work than watching the match. Sir Habib will always get on to nerves, Mini-Sir Mushfique (thanks to the selectors) will miss chances (in the WC, he was the worst wicket keeper and many of us did notbelieve in that stat). Add the bad bowling of the spinners and you know what will be the outcome of the match.

I have already considered it as another loss and watching it just like an outsider. So, i'm much relaxed.

Direct hit everytime ?? catching all those super hard hits from Dhoni..yes ..those are unrealistic expectations...

I guess winning against SA and losing against Ireland were unrealistic expectations also.

But really, that's what cricket is about. There is not any "easy ticket to a wicket." The difficulty will always be there, the question is what use we make out of the chances given to us.

Can someone reply honestly . Did you gusy really think by beating India in WC we became the best team around? We were on winning streak before WC but only against Kenya and other weak teams. Look at our team today... they are showing thier true colors..lethargic and actign as sore loosers..their body language says all.

I wonder how we did it against SA and India..... luck?

Iam so depressed.

It was luck + below potential display by India/SA...going by the logic of BD fans, Ireland is also an awesome team because it beat PAk and us...but sadly it doesnt work that way...
BD fans attitude is worse than India/Pak fans...because the expectations are almost equal and team quality no where near to India/Pak...more than them, each fricking BD fan considers him/her to be a expert ...there so many here on the forum itself...:-P

Shobhon - Bangladesh is still the 7/8th team in the world. It's just that as ODIs go, anything can happen. India's probably right after Australia, SA, and on neutral venues after NZ. On our day, given a more attacking leader, we can win a few more matches regularly. Last match, we should have one. This one, we have already shown enough to suggest that it's going to be a long and painful one. :)

If anyone thought we're in the top four or even five or six, they are getting a little ahead of themselves. We got a little more work to do before we can start thinking about winning regularly against the big boys.

Cajoling BD everytime for a bad day will not suffice. This is not 2-3 years ago. The fan's expectations have risen with BD's performance ... there has GOT to be a time when fans expect good performances consistently. And i do believe, and lot of the "unrealistic" fans will aree, that time is NOW.

yah, back on the topic, our players are quite on the same level as them....like mashrafe, rasel, ashraful, tamim, aftab, shakib...they're all good players. They are very very young, and need a lot more experience to play to their full potentials.

Now, you need a good leader to show them how things should be done, or can be done. Bashar's mukhosto captaincy is just influencing them to just hit the ball with a bat and throw the ball to the batsmen without any kind of strategy. No matter how good you are you can't win without a strategy...a gameplan

not all the matches are won by 250/3 SLA's. Dont worry its not over yet, india just lost another wicket, now if bashar applies some more pressure and get a few more wickets, they can still restrict india well within BD's reach.

Remember now India will apply the same bowling tactics like BD does with a bit more of pressure in the field.

Can anyone seriously tell me that you expect Bangladesh to consistently beat teams like India just because we beat them once in the world cup? Yeah we play well once a fortnight, but there is still a ways to go. Bashar is simply the worst captain I have ever seen. Our bowling although good doesn't have a serious bite to it. I still believe we are one good pace bowler away. Batting can be maddeningly inconsistent and at times just plain stupid. Bottom line is that I always thought and still do that Bangladesh is still 3 to 4 years away from beating teams like India, Pakistan, etc. We're still 2 or 3 good players away from being really good. We have to be patient but I believe that we can be a great cricket team in the near future.
