It's a piece of irrelevant crap, thought up by the geniuses at BCCI to fill TV schedules and nothing else.

Players should boycott it. I shall be ignoring it.

What is Afro asian cup?

Let me try to define..
“ Afro-Asia is a cup where both Africans and Asians have fair share of their properties. The colour of the cup has little bit of chocolate flare and the Asian sun tan in it. And the legs of the cup are a bit weak caused by poor nutrition and administrative malfunction due to negligence. The cup has a shine finish due to good manufacturing strategy and good sunshine in the region”.

Just wondering will the players stats from the Afro-Asian Cup count towards their personal internationial career stats? I think in the first Afro-Asian cup it did, and I was wondering if it's the same case this time too. Thanks.

Afro Asia cup match telecast is under threat as nimbus is refusing to show them live.

The much-maligned Afro-Asia Cup cricket tournament suffered a major setback, with Nimbus [Get Quote (http://money.rediff.com/money/jsp/quote_process.jsp?query=nimbus%20industries%20ltd)] threatening to pull the plug on telecast of the matches.
Nimbus, which had bagged the television rights for the inter-continental event from the Asian Cricket Council, said the relevant terms of the contract would not apply anymore since the matches were originally scheduled for last year.
"We have been told [by Nimbus] that the terms have to be suitably changed because the financial figures mentioned in the contract were applicable only for last year and not this year," an ACC source said.
Coming with less than a week to go for the tournament, to be held from June 6 to 10 in Bangalore and Chennai, Nimbus' ultimatum is sure to leave the ACC and the series in a major crisis.
The Afro-Asia Cup was first held in 2005 featuring three one-dayers in South Africa.

Bros ... is ZeeTV still covering the Afro Asian Cup? I heard somewhere they would relay it from Nimbus' broadcast live ... but since Nimbus withdrew, is ZeeTV ceasing its coverage?

Afro Asian cup is a farce. Its a greater farce than the last few overs in recent WC final.

it's a revenue generating media event... nothing more, nothing less.

i just hope our boys stay injury free throughout the lovefest, and perform well enough to put us back on the map after the india debacle.
