2 things I am most interested in during the practice match....
1) SN gets bak to his form (such a technically sounded batsman)
2) Ashraful's field setting and his response to captaincy as a whole ( I was one of the people who actually supported Ashraful to be the captain)....

tc everybody.....:fanflag:

AsifTheManRahman
June 19, 2007, 11:26 PM
for those who are wondering, there will most likely be minimal coverage for today's game. cricinfo will provide periodical updates, but not veru frequently. not too sure about the frequency of tigercricket's coverage. that's about all that we can expect from warm up games - there will be no live telecast or commentary or anything of that sort.

There is usually no TV coverage for these warm up matches... we usually get updates from cricinfo, tigercricket and other sites. There has been an instance where fellow BC member made phone calls to the actual stadium authorities to get updates on score!

I think cricinfo is doing a delayed commentary. May be one update after every half and hour.

THis is what got me confused earlier on:
Hours of play: 10.00 start, First Session 10.00-13.30 Interval 13.30-14.15, Second Session 14.15-17.45
Current time: 10:59 local, 05:29 GMT

The play started on time, but ci started to broadcast half an hour late.

these two are known to be too defensive and incapable of working the ball around. while staying out there is good, too many maidens can pile up the pressure, even in the longer version. this is one of the areas where players like ashraful and sakib do better than guys like saleh and omar.

<!--StartFragment -->How come most of our players lose their form after marriage?

Researchers used data from surveys of 24,000 people, mostly Germans, over
about 15 years. More than 1,000 of those surveyed got married during the
study, and their happiness before and after the wedding was analyzed.
They were asked to rate their "life satisfaction" on a scale of zero to 10,
with 10 being the happiest. Before the wedding, people on average ranked
themselves at seven on the scale. Happiness increased, on average, to 7.7
around the wedding day, and then declined to near the premarriage level, the
study found.
The authors cautioned that those averages mask differences among people,
suggesting that scientific set points can't fully explain the emotions of
marriage.
"The biggest number of people went back to where they were," Richard Lucas,
a study author and psychology professor at Michigan State University, said
in an interview. "But lots of people ended up happier, and an equal number
less happy."

this is good going guys instead of rush of blood, we need to test our temperment here so do the players over there, now you know why our boys got out easily cause when they don't score we start to nagg, so imagine in the field how the players are thinking I guess sometime they also get impatient to go after the balls by loosing temperment like us.

You spent millions of taka for cricket and you can't buy a decent laptop and have someone provide update for these warm up matches. This is crazy ridiculous
The military -backed government should look into this and ask for "shongskar" in the way BCB/tigercricket provide updates for the games.its now or never. Reform has to come now or we will lose it forever.

Bailey who took just under six hours (357 minutes) to reach that mark in the second innings of the Ashes Test at Brisbane in 1958-59. It remains the slowest fifty in all first-class cricket. In all he batted 438 minutes for 68, scoring off only 40 of the 425 balls bowled to him

JO actually was quite ready to take the slowest 100 in Tests,in chittagong,he was batting with ashraful, unfortunately,he fell at around 80-91,and before that consumed around 400 balls.

Rajin is our best test batsman....... Bashar is our best test batsman record wise.... give him chance... repect him for what he is.....Mashud just needed yet another chance to prove to himself and to the world that it is time for him to retire.... and finally....
As far Tamim is concerned, let him learn a bit more from ODI's.... he has another 18 - 20 years of play left in him if he can keep his form. Let him grow into it... whats the rush?

Doomed? Nah... when facing the practice teams Golla Bashar and Pilot are going to lump up some runs like picking cherries, and make sure they play in the test matches.

But given the dearth of confidence the selectors have on Tamim and Aftab's longer version abilities, I'd have thought letting them at least play these warm up games would be a way to test the two of them! And I wouldve liked to see Mehrab Jr in there too!

Excerpt-

"Herath shot to prominence against Australia in 1999 with a 'mystery' ball. An orthodox left-arm spinner who broke into the side after an impressive A tour to England, he deceived the Australians in the first few matches with a delivery that darted the other way. After that series he has hovered on the fringes of the Test squad for a while, regularly playing for the A team, before being recalled for the third Test against Australia in Colombo. He didn't get a game on the tour to Australia, but in Pakistan in 2004-05, he showed plenty of signs of his talent - bowling slowly through the air, getting it to flight, grip and turn, he took 11 wickets in two Tests. One among a long line of Sri Lankan slow bowlers, Herath could well be Muttiah Muralitharan's long-term spin partner.

Javed Omar (rhb) 33 76 6 0 43.42 striker
Rajin Saleh (rhb) 19 68 2 0 27.94 non-striker

Acceptable partnership ... would have been better if most of those runs came from singles. Rajin's doing well, only 8 out of 19 or 42% of his runs in 4s ... he's trying to rotate the strike. Golla, on the other hand, got 24 out of 33 or 73% of his runs in 4s. He's not roating the strike.

If ODI's are any indication,Aftab is still uncomfortable against spinners, although the management normally counters this situation by sending him when no spinners are operating

What is a Troll?

An Internet "troll" is a person who delights in sowing discord on the Internet. He (and it is usually he) tries to start arguments and upset people.

Trolls see Internet communications services as convenient venues for their bizarre game. For some reason, they don't "get" that they are hurting real people. To them, other Internet users are not quite human but are a kind of digital abstraction. As a result, they feel no sorrow whatsoever for the pain they inflict. Indeed, the greater the suffering they cause, the greater their 'achievement' (as they see it). At the moment, the relative anonymity of the net allows trolls to flourish.

Trolls are utterly impervious to criticism (constructive or otherwise). You cannot negotiate with them; you cannot cause them to feel shame or compassion; you cannot reason with them. They cannot be made to feel remorse. For some reason, trolls do not feel they are bound by the rules of courtesy or social responsibility.

Perhaps this sounds inconceivable. You may think, "Surely there is something I can write that will change them." But a true troll can not be changed by mere words.

If ODI's are any indication,Aftab is still uncomfortable against spinners, although the management normally counters this situation by sending him when no spinners are operating

Yes the indication is there. But its very disappointing that he hasnt worked out that problem isnt it? Bangladesh produces very good spinners as it is, and yet he cant hang around and improve himself? What about trying to play warm up matches and fix himself up? If he cant play spin then he really shouldnt be anything more than a short term player for BD! I just dont get it... either he should quit international cricket, go back indoors and get a dedicated batting instructor for himself... or actually play these little warm ups and try improving. Eigula chhoto khato game'e eto pressure koi? :-|
