View Full Version : It isnt impossible, game plan for tomorow...

I have just thought about it, we r trailing by 250 runs. So do the mathematics we have 2 b defensive but also b attacking. What Im trying 2 say is if all 5 players score only 50 runs we will get to 577 although players such as razzak arent really capable of it. If not let the better batsmen score a century and people like razzak just have 2 play defensive and add a few runs.It is going 2 b hard but it isnt impossible. Plus it said in Tigercricket;

Saleh felt the wicket would continue to play well tomorrow also.

“I don’t think it will turn much. We still have batsmen in the middle and the others in the dressing room are also capable. We should try to stick to the same strategy we adopted today and that is to stay at the crease as long as possible.” he is right the wicket doesnt bounce which is good for us.

Sakib has to bat for atleast two sessions and we need repetation of that remarkable partnership between Mashrafee and Shahadat.

What isn't impossible? Making it a draw? Or going until the 5th day? Or winning the Test? Or what?

As far as I'm concerned, going to the 5th day is impossible. It'll be my happiest day if we can make it to the 5th day.

If our players can stay tomorrow all the day long that will be quite morally victory..

I think the 400+ Score isn't impossible, I'm sure KM and Sakib will wear out the new ball, I'd take 8 off 81 right now and know Sakib can grind with the best of them. The longer they stay they more frustrated and sloppy the lankans get see the Ash-Rajin Partnership with the drops on Rajin. Then we have Masri, Rafique and Rajib who can bat a bit. I'm really hopeful we can pull this off, Play like Captain kid with out the ending and we'll be fine.

You guys are thinking from one side perspective about game plan. SL got bigger plan for us. Tommorrow after getting recharged and morally ahead of us for the late two wickets from today, Malinga and Fernando will be furious. Murali's 10 overs will be enough to finish the tail. I am not supporting this plan of SL, but I am being realistic and hoping that they can last two sessions atleast to reduce the huge margin of defeat.

SL thought they were gonna wrap it up by the second session yesterday, our tail consists of Razzak, everybody else can hold there own with the Bat. And if it takes 10 overs for Murail to get Razzak I'd be more than pleased.

Gameplan for tomorrow: "FRUSTRATE SRILANKA BY BATTING AS LONG AS POSSIBLE"

Fazal
June 27, 2007, 02:48 PM
Game Plan:

#1. Hold wickets atleast first 15 overs of new ball.

#2. (If #1 is achieved) Minimize wicket fall at 1st session upto 2 wickets. Atleast one (Pilot or Skaib) should survive 1st session.

#3. (if #2 is achieved) Minimize wicket fall at 2nd session upto 2 wickets. Atleast one (Pilot,Skaib or mashrafee) should survive 2nd session.

#4. (if #3 is achieved) Extend it to 5th day.

Which reminds me of my only plan. The only capable player in our team who can play 50 overs without scoring a run is Pilot. So I would want him to keep blocking and blocking...given 50 maidens. Just hold the wicket.

That'll be quite some fun though...I'll laugh my a** off.

Hope we can bat as long as possible and Kabir what I meant was it isnt impossible to at least not lose by an innings defeat or draw.

well played javed omar belim and rajin saleh...bashar is a proven flop now. sn and ash should be punished for throwing away their wicket, this is not expected at this level..who is left?? oic sakib and pilot..its ur chance to prove now that u deserve to play test cricket. remember oppurtunies dont come too often.

My plan is pretty much the same as yours but one big thing that mo1974 bhaiya said is frustrate the Sl players so they get sloppier and sloppier so when the tailenders come it won't be that hard and also try your best to extend to 5th day!!!

SL always has better a better game plan, that´s why I think it will be a impossible task to play 2/3 session tomorrow. And I don´t think Sakib and specially Pilot can handle the pressure tommorrow morning. Any how best of luck to BD.

It is still a good batting track. BD should try to bat atleast 2 sessions. They are capable of doing so. Then pray that rain washes out the remaining 5. A draw will be good for hte players' confidence as they head into the next game.

Sadz
June 27, 2007, 04:41 PM
A draw would b a confidence boost especially against 1 of the best 3 teams in the world. It is going 2 b very very interesting tomorow, r we going 2 carry on good batting, is sakib and pilot going 2 prove their worth or r they just going 2 get out cheaply and lose their place in team. also if we lose by big margin what will b shaun williams reaction and mortazas.

Pilot does better when top order fails.... now top order did better so he will fail(hope i'm wrong)

Sakib is gonna struggle against murali...

The game would be interesting had there be Mushy instead of Pilot. Pilot fought by heart to stay 81 balls against A team. I'm pretty sure what he'll do against Vaas, Murali, Malinga, Fernando. His approach will allow the bowlers to create extra pressure on our batsmen and Shakib is going to be affected by that.
We need to get rid of these losers (Pilot and Bash).

We will lose the match before the lunch.

However, we did find out, we can actually bat if we try. This will make the next 2 tests very interesting. We should also see significant increase in the bowling performance also, inspired by the batting.

How can it be a moral victory?

We don't like losing. Vaas had the perfect advice for the BD TEAM: CONCENTRATE

My forecast says they will survive for atleast one full session.

I hope it rains plus+with no flow of runs from Pilot+Sakib in there to the very end = Sri Lankan frustration and worries for next test. That would be a turnaround from Day 1 performance.

becuz we lost top half or wickets [ the batting specialists ], the gameplan is simple ... Khaled uncle should try to protect Shakib Bhai from Murali Uncle as much as possible and if Khaled uncle is uncomfortable against pacers Shakib Bhai should come for rescue.

EDIT : oh and Rafique uncle should have a nice reminiscence of how he battered Shane and Murali uncle last year, he could try that again if he is comfortable ... that would be a bonus as he is only supposed to concentrate on bowling, Mashrafee and Shahadat Bhai play like you played against India if possible

Good game plan. I would like to add few...

if Pilot uncle get exhausted.. bringing Bashar Grandpa or Rafiq Grandpa as a runner may not be a bad idea as Pilot uncle doesn't take runs anyway.

Draw the match or extend it to the 5th day.

Eh ... I am on the skeptical side of that argument. I think BD players would give in before tea.

And a draw is the LEAST likely outcome, with a Win not even being on the cards.

I hope sakib and KM can hold on through tom and Mash and Shahadat come in day after - we can atleast manage a draw.

OK GUYZ!!
Its all over in just 30 mins of play in the morning. The 5 remaining batsmen did their 'duties' by scoring 27 runs in 30 mins and they are pretty happy that they could play the 4th Day!
