ya... system should be changed. but even you restructure it right now, something good will come up not earlier than a couple of years. so what should we do till then? our ODI team improved a lot actually by inclusion of some fresh blood with much better potential. shouldnt we give that a thought for our test team too? atleast how worse it can go?

our ODI team also has big problems, that were eclipsed by the realatively comfortable position in the World cup table. If you go through the WC matches closely, you will find that only one match, against India, was actually well-played, while most of the time, we were getting humiliations.

Fresh blood etc. is no solution. Fresh blood may work in a shorter version of the game. The younger players these days are better skilled; but test matches need much more concentration and patience. If a player has the combination of skills, fitness, technique, mental toughness and attitude, he can play, no matter, if he is 14 or 40.

But a blind permutation and combination is certainly not for international cricket. For a good duration of time, cricket is no gamble.

I don't know why the selecters does'nt select tamim his first class average is 40+ and his strike rate is 80+ so tamim is a player who plays shots and also gets runs for it.

Rahim needs to bat at # 3 ---- the way he ran out of partners really frustrating!! In WC against India he batted at 3 and guided us to a historical victory.

The first thing is to improve the FC matches standard and the players must be allowed to build their 'attitude' in those matches. And as you have pointed out grooming the potential players has no alternative; they must be trained well and care must be taken so that a talent is not destroyed because of improperly using him.

for right now, my personal opinion is, the current set of players are enough skilled to keep us alive in the international circuit. Only thing they have to do is to play sensibly. And the management has the responsibility to ensure that they can do it. After a failure, the management just does some permutations and combinations in the team. That is absolutely a rubbish idea. In stead, they must make things easier for the players. Try to maintain a stable team. When a change is needed, dont make it looking like a big issue, make everyone feel like a part of the team, irrespective of being in the playing 11 or not. Make them feel home and that should produce the maxm of result.

one series is not a reason to do a complete overhaul of our team. the tail failed miserably against the combined firepower of murali and malinga. i don't blame them at all; the top 6 should worry about scoring runs. when u are 50-5, i personally wouldn't want the tail to carry us even to 400 all out.

rajin will not always struggle to a 30 ball duck...murali is a special beast altogether. thus i propose that our current Test XI be as follows (in batting order):
