First Ever BanglaCricket T-Shirt Design Contest (Deadline: 11:00 pm EDT, Sunday, 26 Aug)

As part of our ongoing "Flood Aid Campaign", BC has taken the initiative to launch a T-Shirt Design Contest. The selected design will be used to print our first ever BanglaCricket T shirt, and the T-Shirts will be sold to fans all around the world. BanglaCricket will use the profit from the initiative for the flood victims.

Please follow the 7 basic rules mentioned below to quality for the contest.

Rules:
1) Must submit the design by 11:00 pm EDT on Sunday, 26 August, 2007
2) Design must be submitted in either PDF or PSD format
3) Front Design Should be no larger than 23cm wide x 13 cm high
4) Back Design is optional
5) Entries are limited to BanglaCricket Members
6) BanglCricket.com and its slogan (Home of Tigers’ Fans) must be shown clearly
7) One member can only submit 3 designs.

Send all your submission to e h s a n u @ g m a i l . com (leave out the spaces between letters when you e-mail).The Winner of the contest will get a Custom Title of "BC T-Shirt Design Winner" under his/her nick. Winner will also get a free copy of the T-Shirt along with a certificate from Banglacricket.com

Other OPTIONAL things that you can do along with your design:
1) Suggest what color of T-shirt would you like your design to be printed on
2) Mention the design of the neck - V-neck/ O-neck / collar style
3) Illustrate your design on a T-shirt. Basically put your design on a T-Shirt picture for illustration purposes.
4) Use the "official font" - Haettenschweiler font (http://www.newfonts.net/index.php?pa=show_font&id=105)

Leaving out font size to the designer's taste. But it should be made visible as Rule # 6 states.

Also, the option of putting "BanglaCricket.com" and "Home of Tigers' Fans" together or not has been left to the judgment of the designer. For example:

That is correct. But for illustration purposes you may want to put your design on a T-Shirt picture on Adobe Photoshop. This is absolutely optional, it may give the judging committee an idea on how your design may look like in a T-shirt.

"official" was in quotes. Be creative.

Alright, I guess things got a little confusing. We actually recommend you to use our official font. But we are not too stirngent about it. We want you to use your imagination and be creative. You could try out different other fonts that you may like. But don't go too funky to make it look unprofessional.

A tip:
Put down your thoughts and imaginations on a paper and when you like one of the design or thought process that you started then only get your hands on Adobe Photoshop. This may allow you to deisgn effectively and get the best out of you.

You can also ask your friends and family on how they like the design that you put on the paper. May not be a bad idea to get people's feedback before you start on Photoshop.

According to rule # 7, a maximum of 3 designs per member is allowed.

Also, if people want they can design the back of the T-shirt. This is OPTIONAl again. A pair of front and back will be counted as one submission.

The number of submissions was disappointing. We had only 5 submissions. Regardless, I am happy overall as this was done in short notice and we did get a few good designs. We will have more of this sort of contest in the future. The next one could be on desktop wallpapers.

When a plural noun is shown possesive, it is shown as [word]s'

eg sing. the dog's bone
plural. the dogs' owner

the word 'the' is appropiate there is only one bangladesh cricket team and they are nicknamed 'the tigers'

I like the design. I understand T-Shirt as the shirt with a collar, I didn't see any collar on the pic, though I believe collars will be there...this was just a sketch without making collars anyway. Pls correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey thanks for the English lesson although i don't recall asking for one. :-| I said the phrase is questionable, it doesn't sound right.

In your example of "the dogs' owner" you actually support my view

if you say "the dogs' owner" it's fine, if you say "the dogs' owners" it doesn't sound right. I don't have time to get out my Class 8 copy of Wren and Martin and prove this, however it;s probably because of the double plurals.

So please pay attention to the details before offering anyone English lessons on cassette tapes.

Btw the designs are AWESOME!! I love it (except for the double plurals :)

If you read it carefully it says either PSD (Photoshop format) or PDF. You could design one but that is totally upto you. The contest is officially over.
