India 23 for 1, English pretty boys, one rugged and one girly, are bowling well. A totally wild swing here, but I have the gut feeling that whoever wins this match, will win it all.

DK bites the dust ... 31 for 2. As long as Tendy, tyhe Wall, UV and MS are there, so is hope.

Sohel
August 30, 2007, 09:30 AM
32 for 3 ... the wall is brought down by Flintoff ... a BD-style collapse in the making ??? Time for UV and Tendy to shine.

Sohel
August 30, 2007, 10:05 AM
60 for 3, Flintoff going after UV with 3 slips and some ferocious deliveries ... 20th over.

This is a 7 match series... the next match will be a do or die match because India is on their way to lose this match! Flintoff has shifted the balance towards England.

Sohel

130 for 4 ... I don't think we're looking at anything more than 250 here, if that ... RIP India ???

Exit Motu, enter the fat lady clearing her throat ... 179 for 8.

Is 200 possible?

Sohel

Looks like Chawla can bat a bit as advertised ...

Padosan
August 30, 2007, 11:56 AM
damn these english bowlers, bowling short and making indian batsmen sweat. ICC shld bring in the rule that no more than 2 short balls in an over, else BCCI will protest and take away a couple of votes in the next election.

Sohel
August 30, 2007, 11:59 AM
ICC (UN) can make a better rule for the benefit of the infinitely more powerful BCCI (USA) ... India always wins no matter what ... :D

Padosan
August 30, 2007, 12:02 PM
sohel, you shld add "name sake body" before ICC and "most hated" somewhere before BCCI

This 9th wicket partnership is getting the game out of England's hand.

Once again, Yuvraj left alone and ran out of partners. He is probably one of the best one day player in the world. Isn't he coming too late down the order? I would like to see Dravid going at no.3, followed by Yuvraj and then Karthik, who is horribly out of sorts.

I am certain Kartrik wouldn't be in #3 if India loses today. Zaheer's 20 may be the decider.

Disciplined bowling I guess only 13 extra. How was English fielding?

Beamer
August 30, 2007, 12:32 PM
England should win it . However, these 220 type scores are the trickiest of all scores to chase. lets see..

Fielding was good too. England living up to expectations they have set up for themselves. The last catch by Bopara was AWESOME.

17 overs gone. 95/5. Good bowling by India. Fielding could be better. Turning out to be one heck of a match.

england 114/7. Collingwood run out. If India remove Bopara they will get this match easily.

It is time for Flintoff to take a batting lesson. When was the last time he made a fifty?

Tigers_eye
August 30, 2007, 03:13 PM
Well I did some research and found out in the last 30 ODIs Flintoff played, he only made one fifty. This spans of last 20 months. I think he is no longer a cash cow.

A tailend resistance building up. Lets see how far they can go. This match is getting interesting.

This was good match to follow... Well done Broad and Bopara!!!

This broad looks like a keeper. I'm not sold on Bopara but Flintoff better watch out - his slot in the order might go to young Stewie :)

Great stuff this from England. What a fightback from Broad and Bopara.. Expecting a series victory! :)

30 minutes mins less rain and it woulda been a test series draw...some moral from that and who knows...

but india always dissappoints in ODIs.

which makes our performance against them couple months back all the more apalling. i am more and more convinced that india losing to us in WC was no fluke...

nothing against you AF, but even BD never wins against India ever again, that WC win can never be called a fluke. You just have to know how cricket is played, and see how that match was played. There shouldnt be anything to actually help someone be "more and more convinced" about the win. "Comprehensive" shud be the lone description of that win.

Wow todays match was really exciting from when Yuvi and Tendy started batting but got a bit boring and then it got exciting again and just got better as the game progressed. Really nice fight back by the English batsmen and offcourse Broad and Bopara and also India for not losing hope and atleast coming close to win!!!

i know...i understand completely and agree completely...just i was saying the rest of the world should have been as unsurprised as we were last march 17 (of course they wouldn't be as elated).

Kudos to Indian bowlers for making a match of it, and Tendy and UV to give them the chance to do so. But what cojones from young Bopara and the pretty boy to deal with the pressure and then some !!! What a great find for England Broad is.

August 31, 2007, 02:54 AM
well fought match today but India's batting and captaincy and fielding was a let down again! still have hope for the next match on 2nd.

Hmm, I wonder how some of our better known, B-town Feminazis would react to that.

india shud hav won, specially after being 114-7..i think their fielding let them down...n during the last two hours, they were completely lifeless..no enegry watsoever..felt sorry for Dravid..bless him...

India's loss yesterday reminded me of BD's win in the WC.. exactly similar
scenario.. Mushy kept his cool and kept on going.. a slow death blow..
I think India need a complete transfusion of young blood.
