On pen and paper, our team is has less experience... so we are the underdogs here. There is nothing to be ashamed of a loss as long as we fight till the very end.

I am slightly concerned about the 4th and 5th bowler slots. I hope the Management are keeping options open for Riyad [ if he is playing ] or Nadif [ in case he plays ] and, even Aftab or Alok. I do not know the size of the ground but Ashraful and Reza could come in for some major league hammering.

Having said that, anyone could.

By the way, I do support Ashraful bowling otherwise. It adds a dimension to our bowling [ even sporadically ] which in Bashar and Dav's formulaic times was totally ignored. He is a reasonable bowler and can only get better with real time practice. After all, in tests, he will have many opportunities with scores at 450/3.

Pakistan looks like had a great form against lowly rated Uganda. Let's see what happens today. Our biggest problem is lack of confidence. BD Army gave them the booster dose this time. I am hopefull they will give them a good fight. In 20/20 matches the outcome is either win or loose. I am hoping win will be ours this time. I will get up at 4 am tomorrow with this hope. I know you all are with me. So, is God.

Will be a good contest. But looking at Pak's recent form, will be tough match for BD. Good luck tigers.

Some short term goals:
1. If batting first, lose less than 3 wickets by the end of the first 10 overs. If bowling first, try to get 4 or more wickets by the first 10 overs.
2. When batting, try to get a good steady opening partnership going. Dot balls are okay in the beginning.
3. Fielders cannot drop ANY catches.
4. When Afridi is batting, let him have the singles but try to limit the boundaries.

Looking at the Pakistan team from yesterday, they are a formidable side who seem a touch too good for Bangladesh right now. But it is 20/20, and we are playing against the very unpredictable Pakistan side who can screw up at any moment. So keep your hopes up ladies and gentlemen.....just not too up....

People are too lazy. :)

7:00 am EST Time. This time actually should have been provided by the thread starter, as that has always been the tradition here in BanglaCricket. I urge anyone who opens a thread to provide atleast BDT and EST time along with the GMT. So, I guess laziness was just not the only factor. :)

I am glad someone wrote this: a few dot balls in the beginning is perfectly acceptable. Not only do we "the fans" go crazy and demand 4s and 6s but even the "informed" ones demand rotation from the word go. Frankly, a score of 8/0 after 2 overs is better than 15/2.

Twenty20 has now been played over 3 seasons here in England and after the first year it has been noticed that a team that did well [ e.g. Surrey ] actually believed in the strategy of preserving wickets earlier on. In other words, very much like 50 over matches.

back to BC after a heck long time.... well well well... i have been waiting for this game for a very long time... bangladesh vs pakistan is always good to watch.... both the teams are full of exciting aggressive cricketers... just pakistanis are more experienced... experienced even for the 20/20 mode... they have been playing 20/20 in their domestic league for 2 or 3 years... and they have even played some 20/20 international matches... and they have some very strong cricketers like Afridi himself.... he might be good enough to demolish our attack or any other attack in the world for that matter... he showed what he can do in yesterdays match.... and their bowling line up is pretty strong shoaib asif gul all are superb bowlers.... but then again... they are unpredictable just like we are.... we have some superb talented players ash mash aftab tamim all are very big hitter of the cricket ball... even nazimuddin was great... so hopefully they can repeat their performance with the bat ... and hopefully our bowlers will show their true potential.... itll be a good match to watch... but sadly we cant watch it as i believe only supersport is telecasting this match and supersport is banned here in dhaka... but there is always cricinfo so will be following the match closely... CHOLO BANGLADESH!!!!!!!!

according to cricinfo bd has won the toss and elected to field!! again!!!

The Kenyan conditions are similar to the English one from what I've read. That means the pitch will offer a bit more swing and movement to the seamers, and supposedly will become more batting friendly later on. Ugandans won the toss and fielded first today with good results.

Not facing Shoaib Akhtar, Muhammad Asif and Umar Gul under these conditions seems a wise move to me. Then again this is just a 3 hour match.

In this way you don't have to crash, bang and wallop blindly right from the beginning. Know the score first and then you plan your chase accordingly.

You have to question his bowling "intelligence" sometimes. Last over against Zimbabwe. It seems he is not good in adapting to special circumstances. I think Cricinfo is wrong in saying he is feeding them half-volleys. More likely they are length balls but Imran is going up and under.

Mash again into the attack for his last over. Not good captaincy. Hope I have to eat my words.

it will be a good batting test for BD today as this is the type of scores we will face if we have to play against AUS even WI or SA

Mash is being bowled out, Rasel to bowl the last over. Good move if the game lasts that long. I'm Butt scared as to what these two will do to Farhad "all rounder" Reza's lollipop bowling ... C'mon Ash, THINK !!!

Mash back in form

Too late, that was his last over. The early damage has been done. It's up to Tamim to deliver today. Junaed could've helped our chances too.

I am not understanding Ashraful's captaincy. He is finishing both Mash and Rasel. Who will be bowling the last 2 overs?

Farhad?
