The Fender Stratocaster, (often referred to as a Strat), is a model of electric guitar designed by Leo Fender and Freddie Tavares in the early 1950s, and manufactured continuously to the present. The Stratocaster has been used by many leading guitarists, and thus can be heard on many historic recordings. Along with the Gibson Les Paul and the Fender Telecaster, it is one of the most enduring and common models of electric guitar in the world.

The Fender Telecaster was developed by Leo Fender in Fullerton, California in the 1940s. Prior to its creation, the solid-body electric guitar had been created independently by several craftsman and companies, in the period roughly between 1932-1949, but none of these guitars had made a significant impact on the market. Leo Fender's Telecaster was the design that finally put the solid-body guitar on the map.

Les Paul (born Lester William Polsfuss on June 9, 1915) is an American jazz guitarist and inventor. He is one of the most important figures in the development of modern electric musical instruments and recording techniques. He is a pioneer in the development of the solid-body electric guitar (the Gibson Les Paul, which he helped design, is one of the most famous and enduring models), multitrack recording, and various reverberation and echo effects.

I have a washburn thats pretty much a stratocaster with 3 single coil pickups. Personally I prefer Humbuckers so I fitted the neck and bridge with two seymour duncan humbucker pickups. Just love les pauls, but they're outta my price range. My friend had one and we all just adored it!

Thanks for the thread :D

Just out of curiousity what is your favorite kind of music to play? You seem to be more like a riff-guitarist.

I am currently heavily into Jazz-tunes. All my old songs made off simple diatonic or minor chord progressions are currently getting replaced by 6th, 9th, harmonic etc scales with diminished and augmented influence :D

hmm, i got Ibanez. i love les pauls. but a bit too expensive for me. Besides i was looking for something versatile and mine seems to give great sounds, for the budget i had. Its double humbucker true duo. here is the pic ;)

Cant see any of your images. But Les Paul no doubt. Though i have seen more strats than Les Paul. My guitar teacher in High School had around 15 guitars. He mostly had Fenders but a he got a Gibson for 4 grand on his 40th birthday.

Nice choice man. I am currently playing a double humbucker dean vendetta with a dark maple finish. Its a strat but yeah like always I want to have all kinds. Waiting to receive shipping for a Ibanez acoustic-electric. It has a les paul cut BTW :)

well thanks man, actualy originaly i was aiming to buy a Les paul gibson, but when i went to shop and saw the price tag, my jaw literelly dropped on the floor ! lol ... then i thought may be i should go for Les paul copy then i realised that the one i have now gives better sound then the copies and more versatile(well, on my ear). So went for Ibanez. Anyway ..what kind of musics ur into. I am kinda into old style rock, indie, but not very heavy rock(or death metal stuff). Been playing for about 3 years. I got a Yamaha acoustic as well. But thats not all that great, but i havent invested much money on it so cant complain. Its kinda expensive in UK to buy guitar, unlike in USA where its comparetively cheap. :(

Yamaha acoustics are really good. I just listened to your recordings in myspace. Awesome stuff. Keep up the good work. I have been playing guitar for a long time now. Could not really master into any special area. As for my music taste in all sorts of songs, my compositions are mostly full of variations. My current interest is largely in Jazz tunes.

WOW!! Thats the last thing I think I can handle, trumpets are so cool. I had a chance to play piano few times. Actually in North Dakota in the University Student Center they had a piano in the hallway which I played few times in cold evenings when nobody around. I played keyboards a lot in several occassions in parties. Really enjoyed it but not as much as a piano.
