Yes we can win but Ash needs to quit being selffish and rotate his bowlers well. Also Ash, Tamim, and Aftab need to step up. Nazimuddin needs to keep having good performances and I think a score of 180 is possible if our batters step up. If not, expect 130-150 runs which will mean a first round exit. Also Mash needs to bowl well. He is the x-factor imo.

its a learning process BOSS, however, i did open this thread based on the last game out come, i am trying to see if we were play like this, how much we are optimistic about 2nd round move...and moreover, it won't hurt to refresh memory, or is it?

I am very happy. Just met some friends after may be 13/14 years last weekend. Physically dished out a lot of punishment on them while playing contact sports. :) Felt really really good. Met another one after 20 years.

point taken... i believe we need to score minimum 180+ to be competant against them... Yes Tamim .. need to play his natural game .... Ash need to get out selffishness where as Alok Need to hit big rather run on each Ball... TOTAL cricket is needed to win!

We can win even with 80 on the board if we can restrict the opponent within 79. Putting an artificial number is not the way to go. both WI and SA can chase down any realistic number. Be it 20 or 200. Being able to eliminate our own mistakes will see us win 1 out 2 times no matter who is the opponent. Which in another word would make us qualify for the second round with ease.

no,one team might have bad luck and lose it or one team will have lesser effort to the game,if we can somehow tell our player to play with their whole strength and if they listen to us the i am sure we will win.

Aha that means playing with full strength and heart doesn't confirm your win. SO we can say that all the matches that we lost didn't happen just because our players didn't play with hearts and strength.
Hence we supporters should think when we lose hey that guy didn't play with heart this guy didn't play with full strength...

right i said that we will win only if the whole team plays with their full strength and heart and all those lost matches were some players fault if they took those matches seriously only then we could had won matches you see its not talent or skill that wins a team the game its the unity and the effort of the team that wins a team matches

After this poor showing against a weak team like Uganda, do you still expect them to win against 2 strong teams like the Windians and South Africa. I am really disappointed with these guys, they made good runs against Pakistan who had far better bowlers, and look what they scratched out against Uganda. They are playing more like pussy cats
rather than tigers. I think they should change their names, tigers do not suit them at all, it is an insult to a tiger.
If they bat first and cannot make 175 runs, they are doomed, they have to depend on good bowling to restrict the other side. The Windians hit each and every ball as hard as possible, they dont care if they get out, their main aim is to put the runs on the board.

Chill man. Its something called underestimating a team. After playing Pak, we thought we could kill Uganda because we almost beat Pak. It happens in sports. Its called a letdown. That is why a lot of times, underdogs play well because they never underestimate opponents. Did you here about Appalachian State defeating Michigan in College football on Saturday? That is a perfect example of a team underestimating another team. In the Twenty20 WC, we won't be underestimating anybody and hopefully we will put up some good scores.

anyway, I think there are a lot of Black is Black n White is White type reactions in this thread. Just because the team is Uganda, it doesnt imply that we have to score as much as Pakistan did, and we have to hand them a 200-run defeat. Not every game has to be played out, not that it happens anyway, according to whats on paper. I thought we had 3 good matches in this preparatory tourny, except today's middle order's batting and the last few overs of batting against Pakistan. Nazimuddin has come out like a shining star and a lot will depend on what kind of start we get from him n our top order. We got a good one against Pakistan, and the improbable target or 190+ runs was almost chased down. So that shows that we can definitely give the two teams in our group in the WC a run for their money. But that's all wishful thinking.
Bottom line : Keeping myself on an evel keel in terms of expectations and reactions, and so far, I see some fair chances for us to advance to the QF in a couple weeks' time.

im not happy.. i mean we struggled against uganda...i mean loosing is betta than winning like this!!! and i have a feeling the bd team will be returning home with big frownz on their faces....there is absolutely no way that we can go to the second round. unless miracle happens... which doesnt usually happen for bangladesh, and i thought this whole boot camp thingy was supposed to work.

yes ,after heart and strenght comes the mind, the team that is much more clever wins ,simple lol,and then you will say what if both teams are clever ?then my answer will be that no, one team has to be more cleverer than the other and if that doesnt work out for u then the match will be drawn okay?

I just find it a little scary, the fact that our team is so confident.....yet undeperforming 7 out of 10 times, and yet staying a little too positive. Not saying it's a bad thing but it's a little scary since young teams do have a tendency to get carried away pretty easily. The performance was pretty apalling no doubt but then again we have to give due credit to Uganda for proving their worth. Kudos U :notworthy:!!!!!

I hope the team has found time to watch videos of these 2 teams they are playing against, so they can determine strengths and weakness. anyhow, they have played against these 2 teams in the world cup, they were beaten by the Windians, and they beat SA. I am sure SA will remember this and try their best to beat Bangladesh. they have to get Gibbs, Polly, and Boucher out as quickly as possible.
For the windians, it is Gayle, Samuels and Bravo, Sarwan, Chanderpaul can go into his shell, but the others, they just hit as hard as they can, and they go for 6's.

I think Bd has a chance to win against either of SA or WI, more likely WI as SA is the host team. Even though they(SA and WI) have been playing 20-20s the experience may not be the vital factor. However both these teams also have lot of big hitters in their team.
for Bd, youth and talent is plenty... tamim, junaed, nazim, ash, aftab and alok....... what a batting order...... atleast on paper! if these guys can play the way we think they can play, who knows, Bd may even play the final of the 20-20 WC :)

we always have a chance to beat anyone at any game. just remember that and you are a true fan.
expectations however is not given by chance, it is given by faith.
they have shown in the past they can beat "very powerful lineup" with legendary players in the opposition. they can do it again.
