Lehmann Gives Injury Verdict 14/10/03
Allrounder Pragmatic Over Condition
Injured Australian batsman Darren Lehmann is confident of being fit for the second Test against Zimbabwe, after aggravating an Achilles tendon injury in the first Test.

Lehmann is considered doubtful for the second Test of the series, which starts in Sydney on Friday. He told ABC online the injury is healing quickly.

"It's just one of those things, but hopefully I'll be right," he said.

"It feels good this morning after the Test match."

Lehmann was not expecting to feature as prominently as he did in the Australian attack in Perth. The occasional spinner was forced to send down 31.2 overs in Zimbabwe’s second innings, due to injuries to Stuart MacGill and Jason Gillespie.

"It's pulled up a lot better than I thought it would after bowling so many overs," he commented.

"But it's good, I can't complain. I think I'll be right to go, but you just never know."
