Dhaka, Sept 8 (bdnews24.com (http://www.bdnews24.com/details.php?id=20684&cid=26)) - Left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak sustained a hamstring injury during the World Cup Twenty20 warm-up match against Scotland at Centurion in Pretoria Saturday.

Razzak, who Saturday bowled only two overs to take two wickets for four runs, has been given four days rest following the injury.

"The team management has informed me about the injury of Razzak, who has also been given four days rest," said the cricket operation chairman of Bangladesh Cricket Board Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, adding that he was not aware of details.
Bangladesh will start their inaugural Twenty20 campaign playing against West Indies on September 13.

Earlier, Saqib Al Hasan suffered from a right-thumb injury during the four-nation Twenty20 tournament in Kenya that ruled him out from that tournament.

However, Saqib recovered his thumb and played against Scotland Saturday.

Hmmm that's bad news as Abdur Razzak could be really useful for the twenty20 WC. Hope it's nothing serious and he recovers in time for our inaugural match against West Indies in the twenty20 WC. Come on Razzak you have to recover soon!!

This is possibly the worst news before the world cup.

He should not be rushed before complete recovery. He is the most important bowler of Bangladesh line-up.

I know.. Hes actually the main bowler in our line up. Rasel is second to come. Without him Bangladesh will struggle a lot as Mashrafe not bowling well. He's worst than Reza nowadays.

Hope Razzak recovers soon. Hes the best.

Now we see the reason why Ash did not let him bowl those last 2 overs, and everyone blaming Ash for being so stupid!
Hopefully, he can recover for the game against the Windians. hope Mash can find his form against Kenya.

This is the reason why Ash did not let him bowl the last 2 overs. Everyone blamed Ash for being stupid, but he realized that Razzak was his main bowler and had to take him off so as to prevent further injury. hopefully Mash can regain his form against Kenya.

Deeply concerned, and I pray that he gets better for the WI match. There's no real alternative to Razzak, unless Rafique is fit and agrees to get flown in.

omg calm down, an hamstring injury is very minor, all he needs is some rest, he cannot play tommorow... so what, we can test out the likes of Ziaur and Junaid

Wrap it up and put some Ice and he'll be fine, I mean he's he doesn't even have a run up when he bowls. And when fielding put the 12th man in for him like the Juniad-Ashraful game

"Razzak had two wickets in his first 12 balls for six runs but then strained his right hamstring as he tried to slow down following a futile chase on the point boundary. He hobbled off the ground and as a precaution did not return. He will be rested for tomorrow’s warm-up match at Benoni against Kenya and Nadif Chowdhury will come in."

so it happened while fielding. not when he was bowling..

Well it's good to know that he was giving his all in the field. Good on him, even though the aftermath results in a terrible situation for us.

key spinner Abdur Razzak also showed no side effects from a strapped left hamstring and was his usual self while bowling. Today was Razzak's only second practice session following the muscle strain suffered during the warm-up game againstScotland on September 8.
