Ashraful mentioned about the commando training today in the post match presentations, I agree with him. I really see the improvement in their physique and they look lean, thin, athletic and most importantly they have grown from boys to man. If those 6 days could have this effect imagine two or three weeks?
ps: off topic, I just wanna say, Ashraful is the greatest Bangladeshi cricket player to have ever walked, breathed, and danced the zizou dance. Ashraful,..... I can't find words for you. What you did today will be remembered as the greatest ever innings 50 or an innings by a Bangladeshi till date. Congratulations tiger.

That seems to be the case. Ash in particular looked really fresh and fired up. There was so much power in his shots.

Hear, hear ... :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:
The military cross-training was designed to enhance unit cohesion and courage through things such as "360 degree appraisals" and "self-criticism", as well as the rigorous physical conditioning. From the looks of what happened today, it played a positive part along with everything else that has transpired during the course of this expedition.

I am not sure how much it helped. May be in team cohesiveness, yes! But we still need our domestic structure corrected if we want consistant performance from these Tigers.

Bingo ... that's the key to sustainable success. Cross-training can be more effective once those fundamentals are addressed first.

yes that boot camp did boost our confidence and strength, but we didnt win today's match only for that ,we also won this match because of our unity today and our effort and Allah gave us the win for our effort,so all i say to the bd team is work hard and give your full effort and you will be gifted.

I know some members had both threads ready to be posted... since we won we r getting these kinds if we had lost the would have seen the other kind where they say why he bowled and rubbish cricketer from bd etc etc. in my opinion both extreme.

Down the road one day TEST CRICKET WILL BE HISTORY !!!! So, only shorter versions of cricket will prevali and WE ARE SUITED TO THOSE VERSIONS OF CRICKET. So don't worry about INFRASTRUCTURES.

Luck is always with the braves.
I am sure commando training helped but I hope this win would be a confidence booster to do well in the next games. I am looking toward that.
Congrats Team BD.

Jhorey Bok porey...ar Comando Training-er Keramoti Barey.
Now Aus also had those comando training and then lost to ZIM... does it means it was also responsible for their loss? No ?
Its winning the toss in the wet pitch and then excelent bowling by Rasel and getting Gayle cheaply that was mainly responsible for this win.

I think it's Mashrafe's GaliGalaz after losing to Kenya in the warm-up game that helped BD ! I think that was the first time someone rebuked the team instead of just promising to better next time. Never mind Mashrafe's own poor performance, but he has delivered more than once for the team before.

Commando training does not make you a better cricketer. But it can surely make you tough and determined.

dont take his comment seriously. he meant to say team really worked hard and commando training (as example) was part of it (as oppose to commando training made this happen). we already have overrated army back home, lets not over rate any further. Boot camps are done by at least 5 teams out of 10 and its nothing but a supplementary exercise

Unless you get injured, any training that helps your cricketing focus and increases your strength and endurance helps you increase your probability of winning. Nothing guarantees winning.

1. Bangladesh does commando training
2. India watches cricket movie
3. Australia goes to camp
4. Pakistan does Fighting among them selves
5. New zealand goes back to his his job (policeman, riksha wala etc)
6. SA does betting on other sports or teams...
7. WI changes management
8. England goes to pubs
9. SL does regular practice
10. Zimbabwe quites.

I think it was rather the lack of commando training that lost the match for West Indies. Ash played anohter great innings (he's the man!!) which helped us get over the line.
Gayle should bring his team-mates to Bangladesh to get some good discipline. Let's charge them- $50,000:-D.After all, our training camp is the most effective in the world.
Congrats to Bangladesh:notworthy:. Didn't know they were gonna do it again, though I knew they had a chance.:D

100% true. The success is due solely to the commando training. Before our next series/tournament, they should do it for at least one month.

It may have contributred to team cohesiveness as the team looked more matured and determined than before. Like it or not, it was a new approach in our cricket and so far so good. I am happy with that.

The greatest fast bowler of current time, Bond, is from the police. The same goes for the all-rounder amusing Leverock. In the next series we should also keep some army players in the squad to keep the morale even higher.
