do u really think farhad reza should be in the test squad ???

we all know he was one of those multiskil players who can bat a bit and also bowl a bit.

we may inclede these type of bowlers in ODI's but i think in test matches you need specialists.

so do u rate Reza as a good enough batsman or a bowler to get a place in the TEST squad ???

You know what I would rate him higher than Sakib right now. He is technically a better batsman than Sakib in New Zealand condition and his mediem pace would be more effective than the left arm spin. But my guess is both of them will just warm the bench for now.

Sadi's right, he may not be ideal but BD don't have a lot of players doing well in NZ. so why not pick one of the few to have scored a 50 (albeit in a T20) and taken a few wickets?

I also think Farhad is better batsman than TI. Mehrab is not in form. So Farhad is in!

In my opinion he should concentrate more on bat.. he is not that strong physically for a medium pacer allrounder.

i reckon we shud give farhad a go

Even Razzak got better technique than Sakib.

in that case he should bat in the top 6 and 5th bowler

totally disagree with this selection, hes not ready for this format..say he comes on to bowl 1st or 2nd change after the opening bowlers, the ball is not going to do anything and his medium pace shouldnt cause any problems at all..and from what i have seen, he is not a test match batsman, just another candidate to edge it to the slips..

so... r u going to keep making threads on each of the players/coaches/board members and also before and after each match and also about the series which havnt started yet?

Just curious!

Word by word, I can't find any fault in what you just said. Good job.

i like the inclusion because i want a test squad that is sound, and has been somewhat adjusted to conditions in New Zealand, shakib? he needs a huge vacation, that's what he needs.

Vacation? why? He needs to be a fixture on the A team for a while.

FARHAD REZA in test squad !!!!!!!!

Yes Farhad is in the squad, because we dont have Andrew Symonds or Dwayne Bravo back in home to cover up.

he has a better NCL record than a lot of BD players especially with the bat so i guess it wouldn't hurt giving him ago.

Have you seen his first class batting average? probably the best in the team

Totally agree with his selection. I think he bats according to conditions, or at least tries. Ive seen him changing his batting styles from game to game. Maybe he dosent have that many big scores, but I see potential in that guy.

I wasn't a big fan of his bowling before, but I think I like that too now, especially if he can be consistent and not play one good game and perish like many of our players at this moment.

guys i really think you should give him a chance afterall we did see a huge improvement in the odi's. the only thing that concerns me is his bowling ability- i just dont understand it!

Funnily enough when I saw the whole match, which didn't take very long, on Sky I was actually quite impressed with his batting except, of course, the manner of his getting out. He was far less fazed by the short pitch bowling than the others. So I am not surprised that he stays !

Sakib should have been sent back. His piddly slow stuff won't work in tests. He is surely not there for his batting ?

Ditto. He's the better choice amongst Jr, Tushhy and etc!!

i think farhad reza is not a bad choice for test. he can hit balls, he can bat slow, he can bowl as a 3rd/4th pacer and his fielding and fitness level is great too. so why not? when all BD players are not doing any contribution, i think farhad is a good option. he will increase our batting strength.

Selectors should take Rafiq's attitude up their a$$ and beg him to come to save the face off Bangladesh cricket.

There were lot of in-depth analysis posted in the 'NCL Statistical Analysis' thread since the beginning of NCL. Some posts mentioned something positive for Farhad. For example:
