Who do you think should start at wicket keeper in the South Africa series?

Mushfiqur "Golden Boy" Rahim or Khaled "Pilot" Mashud???

I do like Rahim but considering Rahim's current form I would go for Pilot

For test matches it should be Rahim but for ODIs it sould be Dhiman as Mashud and Rahim are too slow to be effective in ODIs(an also T20s).

Pilot for test and Mushfiq for ODIs.... so where does that leave me with the vote?

No Pilot no Mushi.

Can we get Gilchrist instead?

for one-dayers it should be dhiman, in tests take your pick between dhiman, rahim and mashud. it depends on what type of keeper you want and what you're priorities are. dhiman is a good choice because he's as good as any of them with the bat (i'm not talking technique i'm talking performance) and going by the recent domestic season he's one of the best if not the best with the gloves. mashud is either the best or 2nd best with the gloves (depending on where you think dhiman is at) and although he's not the best batsman he is the in form keeper batsman. rahim unfortunately isn't travelling to well with the gloves or the bat atm. is rahim the long term keeper? maybe, but maybe dhiman should be the long term keeper.

the reason i like dhiman is because even if he's out of form with the bat he won't let you down with the gloves, rahim over his international career has let down with the gloves fairly frequently.

Pilot's obvious decline was overshadowed by the decline of the bigger stalwart in Bashar. Prior to WC and stretching to a long period of time beforehand , Pilot was not only pathetic with the bat,but he also lost his biggest asset which was his courage with the bat. Once he was a good runner between the wkts. That went down the drain as well. Anybody missed him in WC? or when Mushy took apart Murali in Sri lanka? I didn't. Mushy has tons of upside and to do away with him after a bad series will be a backward step. He has improved with his gloveworks which is a bigger deal and his batting will come around because he has quality to back up his lean times.

as for who out of rahim or pilot should be the starting keeper for the south africa series, i'd have to go with rahim definately in one-dayers, in tests it could go either way but i don't have a problem with giving rahim a few more test matches.

Without Dhiman as an option, certainly GoBo for ODIs, kheilla shikhuk!
Pilot for tests while GoBo is retained as a specialist batsman.

If I had to go with just one, GoBo ALL.THE.WAY ... :D

Pilot is only good for the domestic/club cricket now.... give him another he will fail again like past times.....

His glove work is not better then Mushy.... However Mushy was gr8 with gloves against NZ...

I still feel that Siddons should groom 2 wicketkepers in the National Team and maybe it is time he pays attention to Dhiman, should give Mushy a bit of competition for when there is competition, players compete and perform better.

Asaad missed the free poll course of Shams.

Mushfiqur Rahim in ODIs.
KM in test.

Right now Rahim is totally off form, having pilot will help Bangladesh extra 30-60 runs per innings.

I vote for whats best the current team, Pilot.

Mushy has kept wicket against SA in the World Cup, I think the same bowlers will be used, so he has the experience. In Test matches, I feel that that Mashud should be given a nod.

I dont understand why 6 players are on the sidelines? Why dont they feature in his training camp, Siddons is only having 17 players, I dont think that Rasel and Tamim will train, they are still injured. All these 23 players should be training with him. Once again it is a short period of training before a tour by a very strong team. I feel that Siddons is short changing Bangladesh as National Coach. i have asked a question already.
What does he do when the National players are playing in their league matches?
Does he take another extended holiday?

Considering our golden boy's current form, i would go with original "old is gold" Pilot.

If we give Rahim a free ride, despite his poor showing, he wont learn anything.
He needs to earn his place and for that he needs to some sort of urgency, which so far, got nothing from him.

A match against South Africa is no place to get your form back, esp, when you are 18 year old. Rahim's got a lifetime ahead of him, so we should not hurry him.

Another failed series would only hurt his confidence and form.

We surely dont want to destroy his career like Kapali,Talha et all.

Pilot should be given at least one last chance to retire gracefully.

Compared with Golden Boy's (Golla Babu?) current form, Pilot cant do any worse.

Pilot forgot how to bat well.
Rahim isn't batting well. He is a complete monkey with spin bowling.

But Rahim is keeping better, definitely catching better.....
But still not as good as Pilot....
Does Pilot have any fight left in him?
Hmmmm.....

I would give this one to Pilot as his farewell series.

I agree, and after this series, Siddons should give Dhiman a chance to keep wickets.

I dont know why he is not considering him. Mushy should be given competition to improver and keep his place.

Talking about future - Mushy Mushy and Mushy. Also Zainab said well - Keep Dhiman in the team for positive competition between them. However, thinking about giving Pilot a chance to retire on home soil - this could be his last test series.

Rahim for Odi, and Pilot for test !The only reason I am going for Pilot in test is that I want Rahim to understand that he has to perform " Consistently " to stay in the team. Once Rahim gets his touch with the bat, I guess he can come back for both form of cricket. Is Dhiman picked for the Series against South Africa? I dont think so. So why are you guys saying that you want Dhiman to play instead of Mushy or Biman Chalok ! I don't think the selectors will have a change of heart during this series. Who know what the future might hold for Dhiman ! I just hope its bright and shiny !

Pilot's battting (domestically) imporved this year. I will go for Pilot all the way. Dhiman is my second choice. Mushy's :wave:batting in NZ was hilarious.

And how about "Dhi the man". Is he yet our tamar chele?

I guess JS would have been better off terming him as 'diamond in the rough' rather than Golden boy of future, since the term "Gold" is so much a source of consternation these days. Don't blame you guys though. Look, all the cups and shields from every nook and crany in BD are called as Gold Cups, though we know, its made up of ispat or tin! Gold medal students are not exactly so golden these days. Even the gold standard of wedding gifts that is Gold , if I may, has lost its lusters a bit !Last but not least, Golden Bengal is only found in history books. Such devaluation of once proud Gold. Damn it Siddons. Know the country before shooting your mouth !:floor:

I think Dhiman will be the "Sangakkara Platinum Chele".. Mushfique has proven to be Imitation mal..I think now the fans see how our individual emotions dont contribute to players performance.. only players themselves with their stats proves how worthy they are. At this moment,, Mushfique is scoring even below his miseable average of 12.0. Enough of this "give him time/he is young/he will score a century to shut your mouth" propoganda..Lets wake up and realize the reality on the feild than our hearts..
