Rafique and Shahadat lead fight back after familiar collapse
22 February 2008
Bangladesh bowlers are again fighting to bring Tigers back in the match after batsmen produced yet another shoddy display in the first day of the first Test match at Sher E Bangla Stadium in Dhaka today.

Tired of seeing the bowlers saving us from utter humiliation. But then again, whats the solution? I just don't see anything to be optimistic about our batting. When will the dark days of batting go away? Oh by the way, nicely written report just as usual Miraz.

Since when Mirpur stadium was batting pitch. It is not BNS. Ist day was always for the bowlers. Now watch, 2nd and some 3rd day will be batting friendly. Even Dale Styne might reach 100. For BD, batting first should not have been the choice, since they can't last for 4 days. Poor BD.

This is a different Mirpur pitch, there were no assistance for the bowlers, no sideways movement and it was perfect for batting.

The decision to bat first was the perfect decision but we could not capitalize on that.

14 wickets fell on first day. How do you judged the pitch? From SA team, except Kallis, all got out of very good ball.

It's true that 14 wickets fell on first day. Bangladesh wickets were gift except that of probably Tamim and SN.

You judge pitch not by the number of wickets fell, but by the way it's behaving.

The only awkward sign was the dismissal of Kallis that kept low. Except that the pitch behaved really well throughout the day.
