View Full Version : Questions to concerned persons....

The current Bangladesh team is basically an under 25 team. Only player above the 25 mark is Abdur Razzak who is yet to reach 26. The average age of the current team is about 22. Probably this is the youngest ever team that I can remember in international cricket. Correct me if I am wrong.

I would like to ask the following questions to the selectors, the team management and the BCB.
What is the thought process behind the selection of such a young team? The moment they finalized the team I am sure they had some thing in their minds. I would to know their vision to find out who are the morons; they- the concerned ones or we, the fans!!!
Why the hell on earth they would enjoy the luxury to make experiment with the fate of the young players and eventually Bangladesh cricket every single game?
What is the vision of their team balance? For example, some teams go for 5 batsmen, 2 all rounders and 4 regular bowlers. What is in our case?
Do they think that they are the dumbest persons involved with Bangladesh cricket so far? Or they tend to think themselves as smartest ones? Please feel free to add your questions. Finally we need to sort out the best questions and send the question set to the concerned persons in BCB and the team management....

They will not answer. Our players (batsmen to be specific) has no accountability, so as our BCB management.

Whats the ploy of going out with 3 spinners in every single match ? IF we had Shane warne, Murali, Harbajan, Anil Kumble, then i would have agreed with going in with 3 spinners, no matter what the pitch is like. But since we have some mediocer run saving SLA, we shouldn't be relying on them. We should go in with atleast 3 fast bowlers and 1 or 2 spinners ! I mean thats how the Rest of the cricketing world plays their cricket match. With 3 or 4 fast bowlers and 1 0r 2 spinners. not the other way around !

i believe that youth is the answer...both for test and ODI.

the problem is not with our XV...its with the selection of XI. farhad should have been the third seamer, and if he didn't fit there, then should have been dropped for rasel. that he took rasel like figures of 2-41 belies the point. rasel will take 2-41 every game, whereas farhad will only do that once in 5 spells. rasel >>> farhad as a seam bowler. i would also like to see shahadat. rajib going from 0-101 at lords to 6-27 at mirpur has proven that he is far more intelligent than any cricketer bangladesh has yet produced. when a 21 year old with genuine speed can cut his pace to focus on line and length it shows maturity and intelligence. shahadat can only learn to be an ODI bowler by bowling in ODIs.

For bowlers youth may be considered as answer. But for batters? No, only youth without experience cannot the answer. We are hurting because of batting, not bowling...

Dear Asaad,
I can agree with you but not whole heartedly. The bigger problem lies somewhere else. Fazal has put up another fine post stating something similar:

Say we had Rasel for Mahmudullah. he got two more wickets with 45 runs. What would be the Pakistani score be? 270/7. Less? Okay how about 250 all out?

With the moronic approach by Ash-Aftab you wish to chase down that total? I don't think so. They are the main stay of our team and can't perform because of their rush of blood. They have to sit out till they understand the value of wickets. They are old enough to know that. No more baby sitting these WAY OVER RATED gobets.

agreed. but that won't happen. and if it did, it would cause us the fans just as much pain as now. because then the team would lose by 200 runs, turning in their best performance.

but still, i think we need to drop ash and aftab for an entire series or two. aftab is playing better in Tests due to his not being selected in 5 straight tests. lets do the same with him in ODIs and ash in everything.

bring in nafees iqbal, alok kapali, rajin saleh as the replacements. 2 full series - thats 4 tests, and 6 ODIs should do the trick. repeat as many times as needed.

accountability is the answer. right now, each player on the team IS bigger than the team hence no self respect. lets prove the players are smaller than the team.

I think the selection process must take commitment and willingness to learn in account. I would like to see a less talented player trying heart and soul rather than seeing a lazy less committed so-called talented player in the team. It's time to change every thing about Bangladesh cricket including the fans also.
