View Full Version : Are you losing interest?

Are the constant thrashings breaking your zeal for following Bangladesh cricket?

Tigers_eye
April 23, 2008, 01:25 PM
No, I am getting mad, furious day by day with the way players, coach, selectors, BCB management are acting. Not professional at all.

With the food shortage I feel like they need to stop what they are doing and help the poor in the fields.

The thread title and poll confused me I nearly voted no! But losing interest in Bangladesh Cricket? No chance even if our test status is revoked and we become an associate I'll still follow my team, because thats what die-hard fans do!

I answered that I'll lose interest if this thrashing continues. But the conditions are as follows:

1. We continue to get thrashed
2. Nothing gets done by the management or the players to approach the game differently
3. Our golden boys don't turn into golden men
4. The scapegoating method is not stopped

As long as these 4 do not happen, I'm okay with the thrashing.

boundule and akabir bhai already tainted the poll. So this polling result should have similar fate of Michigan and Florida primaries. I will mess up the poll even more.

#4 is second in the poll woohoo!!

Kabir mia heavy chalu... Kothar modhdhe kemne fak rekhe dise....

Bhaijan...that's the problem. In my short life so far, I've learnt something.

1. Life is not based on mathematics. Artificial Intelligence failed big time, because the basic of this idea was that everything can be calculated. Certainly not.
2. Power is not everything. Stamina to digest the opponent's power is more useful for the weaker bunch...aka BD team.

My need is simple: I don't mind getting thrashed a million times over, only if I see the players and team management giving their 100%. But when they don't give their 100%, I feel that it's everyone's waste of time - both the players/management, opponents, and us (the fans).

I just badly need a break from BD cricket (havent posted any BD cricket related post since 4th ODI).....

I think this break might work in bringing back my interest to the fullest again....

I always get back full interest when a new series is about to start, regardless of performance in recent matches. Then when we continue to get thrashed throughout the series, interest keeps dropping match by match. Few months later when a new series is near, I regain interest completely :)

I am a Liverpool fan. That may answer your question. We never let the manure supporter that we won more CL than them though realistically we do not have sniff of chance of winning league. Both of my team are very good in cup tournament. The only difference between Liverpool and Bangladesh team Liverpool beat big players more regularly than Bangladesh.

cricket runs in my blood and i'll never loose interest in it..NEVER.. even if bd loose 10000 games in a row.. i'll still follow them everywhere.. honestly speaking.. if they were like austalia or sa.. winning all the time.. i would have been less interested.. BUT.. i'm not.. i'll always support cricket and bd.. can't imagine life without it..

i'm loosing interest not because i want to, but because i have to. for example during the pak series i was in an 11 day break from college. the series which consisted of 5 odis asn 1 20/20, took away 6 of those days. i was left with 5 days which were very hectic and busy scheduled hence i did not get any revision done..MY a-level exams start in 20 days, 10 exams all together!! chi chi chi...:-|
therefore for my own sake, i must get this ***** out of my head..taking up too much precious time..
plus everytime i watch BD play (nowdays) my blood pressure increases by the second due to the rise of stress level..MASSIVE health hazard this is!!!:-|:-|

We shouldn't forget that we are number 9 in the world. Many european countries are failing to come to our level. Compare any other field of achievement of our nation, have to give up many more things in life.

We expect them to do much better, They are not meeting the expectations yet. Our expectations are also too high at the moment. I don't need to lower my expectations, let them come up to meet it some day. They will insha-Allah do one day. I can live with it.

Things always get worse before it get better. Light after dark. Insha-allah, Bangladesh will become a side to reckon with within the next 4-6 years or so.

I will maintain the same enthusiasm even if we get thrashed 5-0 series after series for the next 24 months. I believe we are a much better side than getting the 5-0 drubbing by Pakistan. It was just a poor tour for us. We had enough talents to win a game or two.

Disclaimer: We really need to upgrade our FC structure, sporting wickets, professional coaches for the divisional sides, no revolving doors- need to keep the current squads together for a long time, keep politics out of cricket, emphasis on fitness and diet of the players, education of the history and nuances of modern cricket, biographies of the cricketing greats, leadership training and a good grasp of English as all the expert opinions and literatures are mostly available only in English.

I still follow every game and check this website for news and discussion every day, and that's something I'll probably always do, but I've definitely lost the mad passion I had at this stage last year.

There's nothing quite like optimism to keep the fire burning, and I don't have much of that at the moment. I can't believe how far off international standard we still are.
