If our batsmen fail to score 200+ in domestic league, I woner how they are expected score more than 200 in international stage. Look at all three matches today. None of the teams manged aroound 200. This is suposed to be superleague now.....!!!!

Ashraful is an idiot.. sorry .. he will not succeed in his cricket career unless .. we take him out of the team.. send him somewhere .. where he can be exposed to tuff bowling and tuff pitch.. and practice and train his batting skills.. Maybe like a training school somehwere in Australia or something.... and maybe then he can come out and become a better international player. Domestic glory shudn't matter

Ashraful - Royal Bengal Tiger Roars (Albeit locally). He needs to roar internationally too i.e. against the heavyweights – Australia and South Africa.

It seems the recent grill work by BCB on Ashraful via one and one session plus the exemplary two masterful and Captains knock performed by Salma for BD women’s team acted as an inspiration for him.

Though it is too early to predict how consistent he will be, A good start is half the battle won.

What is most refreshing is that he led from the front and shepherded the innings when his team was in dire straits i.e. Imrul-0, Zunaed -20, Aftab -1, Raqibul-12 all went cheaply He rose to the occasion and guided the team to a convincing victory.A captain’s knock though it was against SURJO TORUN.

It is good to see future prospect of Bangladesh Dollar Mahmud amongst the wickets with figures of 3 for 40.

I did not know Junaed can also bowl. He chipped in with 2 wickets. Not bad for a player who is primarily an Opener.

For readers convenience I am providing below below a summary of scores
of the league match between SURJO TORUN and MSC.

SCORES SUMMARY

SURJO TORUN: 180 all out in 41.4 overs (Shakil 2, Shamsur 64, Bashar 7, Naeem 34, Mashud 15, Afzal 2, Nazmul 33, Sharif 2, Delwar 5, Younus 6, Al-Mamun 0 not out, extras 10; Dollar 3-40, Zunaed 2-21, Shuvo 1-23).

MSC: 181 for 8 in 42.3 overs (Imrul 0, Zunaed 20, Aftab 1, Rokibul 12, Ashraful 70 not out, Faisal 47, Arshad 10, Shuvo 1, Mintu 3, Dollar 5 not out, extras 12; Sharif 4-39, Delwar 2-40, Younus 1-28, Naeem 1-24).

Result:Mohammedan won by two wickets.

One Hopes Ash will go from strength to strength.

Good work Ash! Keep it up!

Next Turn – Who else? Guru Siddons. Show us the way!

I've got a question. Do we count this as an Eid innings?
It's not so much about how many runs one scores in an inning. For all I know, this could be an Eid inning and he could go on to score dabbas for the rest of the year. What really matters is whether he is feeling comfortable out there. Is he satisfied with his game? Does he think that he is setting a good example and leading from the front?

These are the questions that we should ask ourselves. After all, it is highly likely that a player of his caliber could get unlucky 364 days of the year, and in that case, we can hardly blame him for his failures. As long as he's hitting double figures once out of every five matches, averages and strike rates should be secondary. Besides, games against minnows wouldn't count, as their bowling is too slow for a batsman of his status.

The Boss has spoken. He promised.....

Ashraful also believed that there is nothing better than playing matches ahead of any international tournament.

"If someone spent three hours at the middle it would be equal to seven days of net practice. Nothing is better than playing matches," said Ashraful who made match-winning unbeaten 70 against Surjo Torun in the first game.

"I am looking forward to scoring more runs and I am hopeful because my main target is to spend time in the middle," he promised.

From now on, nothing to worry ...... (I guess)

Boss has spoken but cleverly....he said "if" can stay in the "middle" ...didn't say he will and what he meant by middle. Middle of what...whole Bd innings...which will last 25 overs some day...that he means he will stay from over 15 to 20 overs...As the Boss said "you score 30, i score 30 ...we win the match" and he thinks the same way for all the games

From now on more to worry more threads to analyze how boss says things in what angle in what aspect in what way....

So much time in our hand I wonder what real Boss will say. Which Boss I will listen...my boss or AshtheBoss.

I was hoping for a NatWest series type three match long Eid. It's unfortunate that we are getting only one day long Eid in last few years. Also, it's unfortunate that Ash can't score a century even in a Dhaka league match on an Eid day.

</td></tr></tbody></table>Star-studded Mohammedan's pathetic batting display cost them dear in the Premier Cricket Super League when the title contenders crashed to a youthful BKSP at the Fatullah Cricket Stadium yesterday.

Following the four-wicket defeat, Mohammedan were removed from the second place by archrivals and defending champions Abahani who clinched a facile 94-run success against City Club. Biman kept flying high to maintain lead in the six-team table with a comfortable six-wicket victory against Surjo Torun.

While left-handed opener Tamim Iqbal showed application during a composed half-century after his national team vice-captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza's four-wicket burst at Mirpur, the picture was different at Fatullah where his national team colleagues were all miserable except Rokibul Hasan.

Nadif Chowdhury was the star in Abahani's second win in as many rounds which took them to 23 points from 13 matches, two points adrift of Biman. Mohammedan stuck to 20 points.

MOHAMMEDAN V BKSP
Mohammad Ashraful had started the super league with a challenge to be consistent but after a match winning half-century in the first game, the right-hander was bowled for only three runs when his side desperately needed his service after losing three wickets for 38.

Despite Rokibul's 91-ball 57 featuring five fours and a six, Mohammedan never recovered from the early hiccup and bundled out for 162.

However, it could be encouraging for coach Jamie Siddons and selector Akram Khan to see wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim making his back-to-back fifty which guided BKSP to reach 163 in 39.4 overs but they would surely be disappointed by efforts of Ashraful, Aftab Ahmed and Zunaed Siddiqui.

The three threw away their wickets after getting set as Ashraful played 24 balls to score three while Zunaed was trapped in front by wrecker-in-chief Mosiur Rahman after scoring eight from 22 balls. Aftab committed a crime by playing a reverse sweep against man-of-the-match Nasir Hossain to get caught at point for a 42-ball 21.

"It was really frustrating to see that nobody could carry the innings to a reasonable total," said Akram.

New ball bowler Mosiur initiated the early damage picking up three wickets while spinner Nasir also claimed three for 29 before making a 52-ball 32 that contained four boundaries and a six.

SCORES IN BRIEF
MOHAMMEDAN: 162 all out in 47.4 overs (Imtiaz 4, Zunaed 8, Kayes 1, Rokibul 57, Ashraful 3, Aftab 21, Arshad 18, Anwar 14, Shuvo 8, Dollar 8, Tapash 4*, extras 16, Riaz 1-22, Mosiur 3-35, Nasir 3-29, Mominul 1-16).
BKSP: 163-6 in 39.4 overs (Mithun 23, Latiful 21, Aziz 5, Mushfiqur 51, Nasir 34, Mahmudul 19*, Anas 0, Mominul 0*, extras 10, Dollar 2-33, Arshad 2-43, Aftab 1-16, Shuvo 1-21).
Result: BKSP won by four wickets.

SURJO TORUN: 155 all out in 44.2 overs (Shakil 0, Shamsur 2, Ripon 82, Bashar 25, Naeem 2, Mashud 25*, Nazmul 2, Sharif 0, Delwar 0, Monwar 7, Younus 0, extras 10, Mashrafe 4-16, Mahbubul 2-33, Nabil 3-21).

karor kisu boltey hoi na. He had already scored 20+. So he was safe to play any shots he liked. And for the team, when did he play for the team and patiently stroked along beside that innings against England in test? Majority of the time Ash and he get set and then gift it away trying to be adventurous. Remember the slip catch of Ash against Pak recently?
