BCB is not all bad. Good move. The ones who did good in Demestic cricket needs to be encouraged. As long as performances are categorized and transparent this should motivate the young boys. From Daily Star: http://www.thedailystar.net/story.php?nid=36437
Domestic Stars under payroll
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will bring nearly ten top performers from the National Cricket League and the Premier League into the payroll from next month.
It was discussed when three top board officials met with the national selectors at its management office in Gulshan yesterday.
"We have discussed the players' contract as a number of these will expire on May 31. Automatically some new faces who already debuted in the national side will get the six-month rookie contract," said chief selector Rafiqul Alam.
"We would consider only those players whose service is required for at least one year. And there is a chance to see some new faces. The most important thing is that board is considering to bring ten of the best domestic performers under the payroll," he added.
Thirteen players -- Khaled Mashud, Mohammad Rafique, Javed Omar, Shahriar Nafees, Rajin Saleh, Tushar Imran, Tamim Iqbal, Forhad Reza, Mehrab Hossain, Enamul Haque Jr. Nazmul Hossain, Mahmudullah Riyad and Zunaed Siddiqui -- are currently on a six-month contract with the board.
The meeting also discussed the different team selections ahead of the busy schedule as the Rafiqul Alam-led committee has to announce a team for next month's tri-series at home and Asia Cup to be held in Pakistan, Bangladesh A team for the June-July tour of England and Ireland and the Academy team.
"We will announce all the squads soon after the completions of the ongoing Premier Cricket Super League," informed Rafiq.
