The final of IIHF is on at 1:00pm eastern time where Canada will host the rival Russians in Quebec city. Excited about the prospect of another gold for Canada in the IIHF. I like our chances because we have a good PP, soild defense and a reliable goaltender in net. The Heatley, Getzlaf and Rick Nash line has been the best in the tournament and hopefully they'll continue to supply the offense. What always amazes me is how star players in NHL teams even when they are given lesser role still accept and play with pride whenever they are representing Canada. Heatley, Getzlaf, Nash and Mike Green are all playing for places in the 2010 olympics team. Everyone talks about how good Ovechkin is but people forget who gets him the puck. Without Mike Green he doesn't get to rush with speed and wind up for his shots. Green's passes are always crisp and on the stick. I have gut feeling Green's a certainty for the Vancouver 2010. The curse of Sidney prevented us from winning gold in the Torino olympics but luckily for us he'll be on this version. Spezza's doing himself a huge favour by learning to responsible in his own end. The recipe for our success is simple. We just need to make sure we hit the every russian in sight at all time. Soften them up, rough them up and then force them to take penalties. Park someone in front of Nabakov and score. All and each forward must back-cheque and keep the puck on the walls. Must win faceoffs in our end against the big line of Washington Capitals/Russia. Ward shouldn't handle the puck that much because he's not that good at it. Don't need give the russians any gift.
