Two batsmen from Bangladesh are nearing this milestone - Alok Kapali (985) and Tamim Iqbal (949). Kapali is taking it rather slowly (55 innings so far), but I hope to see both of them reaching this milestone tomorrow.

For Tamim it will be a milestone for sure. Congrats young boy.

But for Kapali? I doubt it. It should be counted as yardstone. He only could cross a yard where he was expected to cross many miles by the last couple of years.

Go Tamim !! Go for it Today !!

Alok, please don't take more than 10 innings to make 15.

I think Tammim will beat Kapali to it. Will he be one of the youngest to 1000 runs.

1000 runs in more than 55 innings for a batsman is hardly a milestone.

Well, at least, Kapali crossed the 1k mark. I hope Tamim will do it in the next match in style.

lol, what is exceptional on a yorker that is only 120k? I thought even you could protect your stumps from it.

Tamim undid himself. The bowler just saw him coming out and did what he had to do.

congrats alok! im not proud of how long you took to get to this mark... but i liked your innings today under the circumstances... but i wished you would be able to cross the 50 mark... if you have the nervous 40's... then you are not useful to the current team...:)

Mashrafe currently has 944, hope to see him crossing 1k mark by end of this tournament. After Rafique, he will be the second one from Bangladesh to have 100 wickets and 1k runs.

After Bashar (1191) and Ashraful (1533), Kapali (962) is set to become the third Bangladeshi ODI batsman to cross the 1k mark against elite eight countries.
