I was a big fan of this living legend. Now I am sad.

Better to create destiny by ending your career at the time and the place where you have decided to end it , rather than await the axe to fall at a time and a place not of your chosing.
Thanks for the memories Steve most notably that time in the late 80's when the crowd used to sing "Waugh uggh what is he good for.. absolutely nothing sing it again" but like a true champ you dug yourself out of that rut . And who could forget those immortle words you said to Herschelle Gibbs in the 99 world cup semi final when he dropped you " Herschelle you just dropped the world cup ".

Or was it "How does it feel to drop the World Cup?"

Both sounds very, umm, very, umm Waughite, yes yes that's it, very Waughite.

What a magnificent player he was. He's been my most favourite cricketer for over a decade. My hats off to you champ.

He did mention during his press conference that he would be interested in helping developing cricket countries like Bangladesh & Zimbabwe with coaching etc. Thats an excellent opportunity for the Bangldesh Cricket Board to jump in and grab him before Zimbabwe or Kenya do.

"I like the underdog tag, I've always been one to help the other teams out. If I can help them any way in the future, teams like Kenya, Bangladesh or Zimbabwe ... I see that as a role I'd like to take on later on.

We do need a batting coach.

However, I doubt, if Cricket Australia will let go of him. They will probably make him the next cheif selector very soon.

I dont think he fits thier criteria

*Nasty
*Jealous/Envious
*Washed up Spinner
*Big Noter

And also how would he get past the 2 current Aussie player's who have all those talents

Shane Warne & Stuart McGill
