I must give my heartiest congratulations on behalf of a Bangladeshi fan for the way Zimbabwe played with high spirits and great endevour and you guys truly deserve it!
Its a sad point for a Bangladeshi but lets not get our hopes down, it happens in cricket. This is a true blessing for Zimbabwe after the turbulent times they have been going through and I hope you enjoy this as much as we Bangladeshis used to enjoy pulling out wins back in the day especially this day in 2005 when we beat u guys to win our first test.
Bangladesh will come back, lets not be disheartened as Zimbabwe are an improving team with the 3 scares they gave Sri Lanka in their last series as evident from their performance today.
All praise to Zimbabwe and wishing you a continuation of your success! (ofcourse not against us ;))

Today's rate is:
1 Taka = 142811.18 Zim Dollar!
Zimbabwe itself is in ruins; yet their cricket team is shining. Mugabe has practically looted the whole country; and made people's life miserable; and yet their cricket team is shining like bright star.
I salute the Zim team for lion's heart!

Totally out played us. I was expecting nothing less than a 4-0 thumping by Bangladesh. Thank you for bringing fans like me back to the ground.
The determination shown by you players is second to none. With only a handful of oppoturnities to play against the big boys of cricket, you all make sure that the oppoturnities are graabed. You might lack a good infrastructure, you might lack talented players compared to the higher ranked teams - but you all have a great team spirit and even greater determination.
Congratulations. You deserved it, you earned it. :notworthy:

We're enjoying that winning feeling - it doesn't happen often. :)
But it could have been better for us - our bowlers had to cover for a poor display with the bat again. If it weren't for Chigumbura, we would have been in trouble, I think...

I said before BD should take this match seriously.. they didn't do their homework and now paying for it.. thanks to our beloved dumbest captain Ashraful for this wonderful new year gift but don't worry, our players have learnt their lesson..they will come back hard and there won't be no mercy..

Congratulations to Zimbabwe. I had a strong feeling that they will win., so it was no surprise. They are hungry for wins and are hoping that they play better teams, their country may be in ruins, they do not have proper infrastructure and enough money, but they still continue to play and are becoming better even with good players leaving to play county cricket in England.
These players gave SL a good fight, and this win might even give them a win against SL, they could even win this series. Sad that BD will be out of the finals even on home turf.
Alas! there is still that problem of concentration and urgency to win in the BD team. Sad that they are not playing to their potential. Riyad should have been given a chance here. I feel sorry for JS that after nearly one and a half years with them, they still revert back to ther old ways and cannot play a proper game of cricket even though they have all the infrastructure and facilities, and are well paid by the board.

just switch "mugabe" with "khaleda" and you have our situation almost. the only difference is we have a "dictatorship" of the people, by the people, against themselves. we don't have the ethnic or racial strife, an HIV epidemic, or inflation at that level...but clearly, as was proven yesterday, they don't have much of an impact on the cricket field.
i mean Sri Lanka is surviving a full scale civil war to be a top 6 team.
as long as the XI on the field have peace of mind, thats all you need. i'm sure zimbabwe's current infrastructure is not that much poorer than ours, and may even be better. and of course their boys show more application.

good point. i am very curious though, wasn't it this summer that Ashraful took a meditation course? after that his ODI batting improved but inconsistency still remained a large problem and too much excitement, getting carried away, irresponsible batting, same old pechal we BC fans of new and old have been tired of typing for about half a decade!

Outstanding performance
There is plenty of talent in their bowling line up and batting will also get better when they get Taylor back

Current batting lineup has the talent - they just don't have any sort of consistency, you can never be sure that any of them will perform on the day. For every good performance, there's another where they all collapse in a heap and leave us with a score that can't be defended.
Taylor's return would help a little, as he's more consistent than most (but not immune to the Zimbabwe Collapse) - but he's just one man, and isn't enough to save us on his own without support from the others, and that often just isn't there.

I will say what was said of us when we win against major teams and that is:
"It wasn't so much their capability that beat us, but rather our complacency that defeated us"
It will probably not happen again in this series, but its a tremendous shock value.

yes.
this defeat is a sign, a grave sign that we still have not outstripped ourselves from this "minnow" tag

congrats zim...a team with better temperament has beaten a careless and irresponsible team... won't be surprise if zim starts beat us in every couple of games from now because our guys are without brains and they are really immature in their heads and they just dont understand...bravo!
