My team -

Tamim Iqbal
Nafees Iqbal
Raqibul Hasan
Mohammad Ashraful
Sakib Al Hasan
Mushfiqur Rahim
Naeem Islam
Mashrafe Mortaza
Arafat Sunny
Nazmul Hossain
Rubel Hossain

12th Man: Mahmudullah

Reserves: Zunaed Siddique, Mahbubul Alam, Enamul Haque

This should be the series where Nafees Iqbal should be allowed to slide back into the team. It's not fair to write off Zunaed while the whole top order (1-4) is struggling, but we need to keep our options open.

Mushfiq, imo, does not have the reflex necessary to be up there in top four. He needs to swap batting positions with Raqibul (who I believe is better equipped for one-down slot).

Sakib is carrying a heavy load as a bowler lately since he is our only specialist spinner in the team now. It will be great if Abdur Razzak comes back, if not then we need to bring in another specialist spinner in the team. My pick is Arafat Sunny, he is an experienced campaigner from domestic leagues, was the leading wicket taker of the last premier league, and has done fairly well in academy one-day matches.

I want to see Nafis Iqbal in the National team. however, he is not ready even against Zimbabwe. he should be playing for A team/academy team atleast one more to gain his confidence.

I really think Imrul should be groomed as an ODI opener. Zunaed is not suitable as of yet, he can be play Test.

Agreed with Eshen Mushy should be played number 6, he is very good playing against spinners. Series against Zimbabwe would be the perfect opportunity to play Rakibul at number 3 to gain his form back.

We can try either Arafat or shuvo for the spinning option.

Rakib should bat at #3, now that he seems to be getting his form back. Mushfiq is literally a walking wicket at #3. I lost count how many times he got bowled when he batted at #3.

+1  to adding a specialist spinner. We need full 60 overs of bowling option

I'd stick to the same squad. I don't think Nafis is ready yet.

The squad is already declared. The squad for the tr-series and Zimbabwe series was declared at the same time. There is no change in the current squad.

Squad can be changed at any time since they are playing at home i believe. Junaed looked very nervous. we really should try playing Imrul Kayes.

sorry for going off topic..... but does anyone have any new updates regarding the talk of our test status being taken away???????? also can anyone please post the upcoming series that are being planned for bangladesh in the future???? i can not find it anywhere......

1) Tamim Iqbal
2) Imrul Kayes
3) Mushfiqur Rahim ( whenever he bats at no. 3 the team does well, and he has scored and has better avg batting at that position. Most importantly team does well)
4) Raqibul Hasan
5) Shakib al Hasan
6) mahmudullah Riyad ( he was looking the most confident batsmen yesterday)
7) Modon Ashraful (I do not want to see him in the top order at #4, he is useless and have no brain to control an innings like a captain is supposed to do. He will hit a ball way outside of offstamp eventhoguh there is 7 fielders in that region, or he will pull a low ball on the middle and leg and get LBW. therefore #6 where he can coem in and do whatever he wants it is a bonus)
8) Naeem Islam
9) MAshrafe Mortaza
10) Nazmul Hossain/ Rubel Hossain/ Mahbubul
11) Nazmul Hosain/ Rubel Hossain/ Mahbubul

In reply to Gadha, BD Test status is not being threatened at the moment, the FTP is solid until 2012After that time, who knows, ICC is thinking about a 2 tier system.
.
As far as I know, BD is playing a series against ZIM, 5 ODIs against Pakistan. playing the WC 20/20 coming June in England, then off to WI for 2 Tests and 3 ODIs in July, and I think that later in the year they are touring Zimbabwe, then end of year India is visiting for 2 Tests and 3 ODIs.

Our squads should be this one:
Playing XI:

Tamim
Nafis Iqbal
Rakib
Shakib
Ash
Mushy
Naeem
Riyad
Mash
Nazmul
Rubel

12th man:
Shuvo

Reserves:
Zunaed
Mabubul

I would give Shuvo a go in the 2nd match, but if everyone performs well we can give him one match for the series maybe the last one, I dont like bringing so many new players at once. One good thing shuvo should do to adjust to international cricket is by playing as the 12th man for about 2-3 matches an come in as a replacement fielder before making his debut.

agree with Gowza. In my opinion, he should replace mehrab Jr, he is much better one day option than mehrab jr. though we already announced our ODI squad, so my team combination against 1st ODI will be

my squad
Tamim Iqbal
Nayeem Islam (he opened for under 19 team and NCL before)
Rokibul islam (may be mushfiq should get one more chances)
Mohammd ashraful
sakib al hasan

10 out of 16 innings in single digits. Three ducks. Three 1s. His saving grace is the 85 against New Zealand in Dhaka (and to an extent the 47 against SA in SA).

Someone should talk to the guy and tell him to stay in the crease until the 10th over, no matter what. If he has to stop the ball with his gloves, so be it. Catch the ball and throw it back to the bowler if you have to, but just survive. He needs a lesson or two in doggedness from little Mushfiq.

10 out of 16 innings in single digits. Three ducks. Three 1s. His saving grace is the 85 against New Zealand in Dhaka (and to an extent the 47 against SA in SA).

thanks dhurr, really appreciate.
its not an exciting career stats anyway, hope it will improve

Love your team Dhrubo. I really want to see Nafis Iqbal as well. Also I agree with moving Shakib up to #4 and Ash at #5. Ash has always had most of his success at the #5 spot. I also agree with Rakib at the #3 and Mushy at #6. Finally, I would love to see Shuvo as the 12th man. He can hopefully become that 2nd Spinner who can put us over the top and it would be good for him to get some international exposure against a relatively weak (compared to who we usually play) team like Zimbabwe. Great post little bro!

JO is a NO.

he might stick around for the whole 50 overs but score a strike rate of 50, at least Junaid gets out early and doesn't waste 100 deliveries.

my team:

tamim - i'm backing him to find his form
junaid or NI
raqib - we need a big one from him
ash - i expect a 100 from him this series
sakib - he is too good to bat any further down
rahim - not top 4 material
naeem
riyad
mash
nazmul
rubel - lets work him into the ODI side as robin, dollar, and sajid are not ready, and rasel seems always hurt...rubel should not play tests for another 2 years at least, however.

.........

He'll score a whole lot more runs than Zunaid would if he managed to do that. I really think he's needed back in the team. He's always there to provide that solid platform. Both wins against South Africa and Australia have come because we had some sort of platform. I'd like to give Nafees Iqbal a go too, and kicking Zunaid out even though everyone else is failing certainly seems unfair. But he just looks terrible against the moving ball.

I'm all for bringing back Belim.

i think we have a foundation of ODI team now. depending on the matches and opponents and wickets we just need to do one or two changes every matches. I am against breaking winning team combination. But our test team need to Observe under microscope, we need some solid players who can take matches to 5 days and get some runs. I think Our bowling is world class. can u imagine if we add razzaq (after ban lifted) and rasel (after injury) how will be our line up.
also shuvo's inclusion is must, he is going to be the 2nd best allrounder after sakib.

I am proud to have allrounders like nayeem, riad, sakib, mashrafe, mehrab jr. at the same time and same team. Whatmore always wanted multiskilled players, no body would be more happy than him to have all the multiskilled players.

So, I can see bright light at the end of tunnels.

agree with Gowza.

Mushfiq ur rahim
Junaed siddiqui (if shuvo included, he should be here)
mahmudullah riad
Mashrafe mortaza
mahbubul Robin (Rubel hossain)
najmul Hossain

This team and the order look perfect to me bro, Shuvo can have a chance in place of Junaed.

Don't know where you got that idea from - Rakibul is the worst player of slow bowling in the team.

Na mate no one is as crap as Tamim with slower bowling, everytime a spinner has come on he struggles and usualy gets out

Against Australia we had a perfect platform for losing, it was a miracle that we won. And we still get decent totals once in a while without the so called "solid platform" JO used to provide.

Just because a player is failing you don't bring back a proven failure.
