So it is time for the world champions to salvage some pride after losing both the test and one day series to a determined South Africa. Although Kiwi coach Andy Moles at least believe he got the firepower to upset Australia in Australia. The tourists will introduce two uncapped players into this series in Trent Boult and Brendon Diamanti. Boult is a 19 year old left arm fast bowler and allrounder Diamanti will replace injured Jacob Oram.

New Zealand squad
Daniel Vettori (capt), Trent Boult, Neil Broom, Brendon Diamanti, Grant Elliott, Peter Fulton, Martin Guptill, Brendon McCullum (wk), Kyle Mills, Iain O'Brien, Jeetan Patel, Jesse Ryder, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor.

We are rebuilding for the 2011 world cup which by then we should have a pretty good one day team again

None of that matters though because we will choke in the semi finals and end up third as always

Siding with NZ this series. For New Zealand, Australia is what Pakistan is to Bangladesh - bullies.

I'd like to see New Zealand turn things around away from home.

Jesse Ryder and Brendon Mccullum both injured what the hell?!

Missing McCullum and Ryder will be a big blow for the tourists, as they are not getting the service of Jacob Oram too.

Not a desirable start for the tourists. They have suffered a defeat in a limited over match to Prime Minister's XI at capital Canberra. Despite the heroic of opener Brendon McCullum, the home team had reached their target keeping 13 balls and 6 wickets intact. Tasmanian middle order George Baily hammered an unbeaten 107 while captain Justin Langer hammered 72. Earlier McCullum scored 114 and Peter Fulton made 53 as the tourists reached 271 losing 5 wickets.

Despite the absence of a few key players in the New Zealand side, the home side is looking more of a dreary and withered than a real World Champions. So, I am not eliminating the possibility of a kiwi victory at WACA although they failed to impress in the practice match. Yesterday's defeat on the hand of a feldgling Proteas side should be a wake up call for Australia; I wonder how long it had been since they managed to lose three match in a row in front of their home crowd. Ponting should know that a series defeat against the Tasman rival could jeopardize his position as a captain. Expecting for some competitive cricket from tourists.

Although they stumbled in a few occassions, Black Caps have secured a last ball victory against the Kangaroos and 1-0 it is. Kudos to nzfan on that :D

Aussies are looking incresingly vulnerable and I think its the best time to thrive for their neighbors and win their first Chappell Hadlee title.

Australia will miss the service of two of their in-form batsmen Shaun Marsh and Ricky Ponting in the second match at Melbourne. Shaun got an hamstring injury whereas Punter is being given a forceful rest ahead of the test series in South Africa. Western Australian Adam Voges and South Australian Callum Ferguson is likely to take part.

Clarke is not a captain of Mark Waugh or ponting's standard. He neither has a team to back such statements anymore. Must have forgotten that. Willtake some time for them to realize the fact & possibly they can regroup & bring in some surprise young talents from nowhere.
