After Darren Powel incident in the Jamaica Test, Harper is set to disrepute the referral system. What an outrageous decision he has given against Chanderpaul!!!
It was short pitch delivery which hit Chanderpaul on top of the flap and it was already over the stump at the point of impact. It was evdient in the naked eye, no predition was required. Yet .. Harper upheld the wrong decision given by the umpire!!! What type of conclusive evidence any third umpire requires to overturn a wrong decision!! The complete hawkey prediction showed the ball sailed at least one foot above the stump.
I think the referral system should stay, but with the use of all possible technologies like full hawkey prediction, snicko, hot spot and ultra motion. Otherwise, these types of howlers will contihnue.
I hope to maintain a log of these howlers in this thread. Members are also welcome to keep the log.
