I was just looking at the scorecard of the last Pak vs NZ ODI. 7 out of the 10 dismissals were bowled. Pak bowlers over the years have been known for their ability to take wickets without any assistance from the fielders. Their somewhat sloppy fielding contributes to that too. But that doesn't take away the credit of bowling the batsmen out, or even LBWs. I was just wondering if Tintin or any of you stats gurus could give us a comparison table of the percentage of the teams having "bowled" dismissals. Thanks in advance.

Not what you asked for - this is a list of wickets which did not fall to bowleds and lbws.

Did this in last October when the same topic came up for discussion in a mailing list, by getting the career bowling and fielding aggregates for each country from Cricinfo, pasting it in Excel and adding them up. Because of this method, this includes only the wickets that fell to bowlers and excludes catches taken by substitutes. But this should give a fair approximation.

Team/Wickets/Catches/Percentage of wickets that fell to catches

Australia 10075 6028 59.83
England 12029 6930 57.61
South Africa 3964 2309 58.25
West Indies 6038 3594 59.25
New Zealand 3850 2419 62.83
India 4895 2799 57.18
Pakistan 4117 2165 52.59
Sri Lanka 1711 1028 60.08
Zimbabwe 756 515 68.12
Bangladesh 105 71 67.62

tihs is hard..

the closest that I have come accross is,

http://www.howstat.com/cricket/Statistics/Dismissals/DismissalAnalysisBowling.asp?Stat=1

I wish they had given the whole list instead of putting a min=50 limit.

Interested ones can think about writing to them.. just a thought :)
