Poor India... even after Waugh ran Martyn out and then got out himself hit wicket two balls later...the seventh batsman to come in is Adam Gilchrist, who is averaging 60+ in test cricket.

Not in Australia,

Tendulkar and Laxman average in the 30s in Australia.

Dravid averages 17.

The other batsmen haven't even played in Australia before, I think.

Lucks favoring India. First Waugh makes a wrong call (run out) - he is probably overawed by the occasion-being his last series and all - and then he manages to hit wicket. India may be back in the game. If only rain would stay away.

Wrong mate. Tendulkar averages 46 in Australia, with 3 100s. As an aside, BCL averages 40. :)

Good fight from IND, but its still long way to go for a win. Steve Waugh must have been shaken by that hit wicket, thats probably the worst thing to happen in your last series!

The rain will probably have the last laugh in this match unless the captains come out with something bold! I doubt though. Ganguli might want to take the safe route.

I wasn't a fan of indian pace attack at all beside Kapil...but when I saw Khan and Nehra during world cup..I was really pleased with their emergence of strong pace attack. I still remember I used to say Ind never gona get bowler like Pak..but I guess I was wrong..now they are developing pretty good pacers..But Pak Pacers are just different and worldcas..also Sri lanka bringing some good talent pacers..Is our cricket board taking extra step to find pacers around the country to support Masri, Tapash???

Ah Yes, I remember you. The lurker from rec.sport.cricket right?

I sincerely hope that someday, SRT will be able to make a 277 to save a test in Aus. :)

Arnab, you might get a lot of support when wanting to prove that Lara is better than SRT, but you can also cut some slack for SRT in general. Surely, he is far better than just a very decent batsman as you sometimes attempt to make out of him ?

Right ?

Arnab

Right.

Tendulkar IS a very decent batsman with a rich, continuous form like Bradman's, which makes him far better than the rest I guess. But he is no bradman, otherwise he would be averaging 100, not 57.

I have to admit that I like Lara's batting more for aesthetic reasons than anything.

Look at this video:

http://www.windiescricket.com/ram/lara375.ram

Pay attention to the replay of the pull shot at 2:45 minutes into the clip.

That's just beautiful. No other batsman I have seen possesses that kind of beauty in the execution of a pull shot.

It's like watching a well-choreographed dance number.

Tendulkar, Hayden etc. strikes the ball hard, but there's nothing beautiful about it. They are perfect executioners. Tendulkar pulls someting clever once in a while. But it doesn't look as beautiful as Lara's shots.

Lara is just superb in pull shot...but ST is very clever but his straight drives and hitting the ball hard and timing is also amuzing...i haven't get to watch cricket that much any more but I bet new players are coming out who will be the next generation of Lara, and ST

Gangs and Laxman stole the show. Looks like India managed to finally do something worthwhile in Australian soil. It's been a while.

Way to go Bangali (yeah, now he is bangali) Babu.

my comment had nothing to do with the danes or Kaneria... interesting how it has different meaning :)

Just for the hell of it, I will leave that comment a mystery :D who can solve it and win nothing?

Fab - how was Bangladesh? She treated you alright? Too bad you couldn't witness a victory....

I was actually referring to Danish Milk.

There is an Indian Ad, where a boy couldn't hit a single ball. Saurav comes and goes like "Let me show you" and he hits a six.

The boy: How can I be strong like you saurav?

Sourav: Simply drink Danish :)

I am a bit surprised you haven't watched that ad yet... Too much English programs I suppose :)
