When the whole cricket world is heated up with IPL and KKR debate, a silent but solemn series has shaped up and is about to resume with a test at Lord's.

After Bopara there is none but Prior if only he can come off from the bad patch what seems like he already had.

Hope WIndies clear off the tail early morning and bat for two days.

You meant "why not". Well they have identified him as a one day player. So he is in that squad. He will join after the IPL. Mumbai needs his service very badly.

i was counting on him to leave..maybe an open door for ashraful, but i don't think it will happen anytime soon.

May be, he is also not fit yet for a longer version of the game. After watching Dravid in the IPL, my belief has become stronger that a quality player can adapt to different formats. Bravo is also good for test as well. If WICB tags him as a one dayer, it'll be a mistake.

To WI:

This is what happens when your captain spends time in garbage IPL cricket. If Ponting wanted, he could have come and play few matches. But he didn't. While Ponting put his country above money and avoided this IPL, Gayle couldn't avoid a single match.

Playing in IPL didn't prevent Edwards from taking 6 wickets.

It's for fitness reasons. WI has few players who are better test player than him. His test batting average is probably better than some of the specialist batsmen in current WI squad.

This is the Same Onions Guy our A Team took to the cleaners The 1st Time we faced 4 years ago? Now he shattered the West Indies cause of all the hard work he's put in. He couldn't make the 2nd Team for his County and now he's about to get a MOM Award, puts a little perspective on the ICL players too.

I remember we were cracking Fiaz Jokes in the Match thread

Ravi Bopara who also played in IPL hit a well made century and infact apprecitaed IPL's role in this century. Its up to the players to play well.

Ravi Bopara didn't fly into heathrow the day before the Test, Very Irresponsible by the Captain. If this was Ash he'd be shred to pieces by us.

This was one of the pathetic test match ever played in Lords.
I hope WIndies come back hard in the ODI series.
I would not mind if they just draw the second test and keep on doing some batting practice.

I want to add to what cricman said. The role of a captain and that of a general player in a team are not same. Not all teams are autopilot. WI have good players, and there were some good individual performances here and there in the Lords match. But their Captain Gayle failed to recreate the team chemistry that existed in his team during the home series against England, and consequently WI failed too.

My beloved team is shattered into pieces with the wrath of illegitimate captaincy and home advantage taken by Cook and added form of Bopara this test has just staged what a joke is WIndies current bowling line up.
Thanks to rain as long as it remains as a savior. Will they turn pi radian during the ODI's?

Bad Luck Windies. Windies board should forget the pride of their past because past doesn't ensure the present. The officials of WCB always try to dominate their players because they were great once upon a time. It will never provide anything good to them.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comhttp://www.banglacricket.com/alochona/ /><o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></P><P><FONT color=black><FONT face=Still, they have a tiny chance to win the ODI series, which is almost impossible. Good Luck.
