No Frills, lets see if Ash can cement a spot next year

BD-Shardul
May 20, 2009, 12:34 PM
I don't want Ash to play tomorrow. What if he plays an Eid innings for the losing cause of Mumbai who are already out of the tourney?

bdchamp20
May 20, 2009, 12:37 PM
Is he definetely playing tomorrow?

Rabz
May 20, 2009, 12:53 PM
I hope he gets a chance tomorrow.
If he doesn't, which he should check with the management now, he should fly back to Bangladesh as soon as possible to get himself ready for the world cup preparation.

Whatever money he loses by not being with the team for one match, he can always make that up during the course of his career.

He will replace Malinga, they all came to play not to sit. Management will give them all one match

May 20, 2009, 03:59 PM
I wont be surprised if he gets a golden duck or even if he scores a hundred, thats ashraful. He can win a losing match for you, and he can also lose a winning match for you.

bdchamp20
May 20, 2009, 04:42 PM
Well Cricinfo thinks Mumbai won't drop any of their star players as they want to go out on a high. I won't be too disappointed if he doesn't play afterall the last time someone doubted his talent (Whatmore) he came back stronger than ever.

As Shardul bhai said what if he plays his Eid innings for them instead of us?

not possible, according to cricket pagol who coined the term and sohel bhai who refined it, and Eid al Ashraf has the following characteristics:

1) results in a bangladesh victory
2) blows the naysayers away for a while

thus it can not happen tomorrow.

...And he makes 2 valuable runs, about $25,000 a piece, and already thinking of the flight back.

Sovik

yes, he is and he's out. 2 off 10

2 from 10 balls, at least he played few balls.

simon
May 21, 2009, 07:00 AM
THese bloody Ipl are giving only 1 chance to our plyrs.
Its really difficult to prove one self with one chance only.
BTW both Ash & Mash scored 2 runs.

Roni_uk
May 21, 2009, 07:03 AM
Lets see.... 10 balls for $75K, each ball faced costed Mumbai $7.5K. Each run Ashraful gave them costed then $45K. Thats a bargain :P.

typical stories of sorry Bangladeshi cricket.

Good bye to IPL.

fais
May 21, 2009, 08:00 AM
this is just not acceptable. 10 balls and 2 runs. had he been trying to score fast that would have been a different question but 10 ball 2 is embarrassing!

FagunerAgun
May 21, 2009, 08:13 AM
Thus BD tradition continues in IPL.

fais
May 21, 2009, 08:22 AM
ash looked completely our of place during his short stint. but now has contributed by taking two catches!

Roni_uk
May 21, 2009, 08:26 AM
Malinga to Gambhir, OUT, starts off with a slower ball, Gambhir sees it, steps down, but it's the off cutter, takes the thick edge, and the ball skied between keeper and third man, both the fielders converging, Ashraful running in calls for it, and takes a good diving catch, avoiding Pinal Shah
G Gambhir c Mohammad Ashraful b Malinga 47 (38b 7x4 0x6) SR: 123.68

.. at least he didn't drop the catch :P. Add this to his $75K.

Roni_uk
May 21, 2009, 08:27 AM
Oh he took Warner too.. wow!

Orpheus
May 21, 2009, 09:04 AM
