:flag:Take a chill pill my felow bc memebers. Its just a T20 and moreover we did not fail comprehensively. I know how it hurts loosing to India after so much anticipation, hopes and strategies but considering its the first match for us and we are almost certain to go to next round, we should take this lighly and move on.wouldn't we be million times happier if we can beat them in an ODi in the near future? and given their ranking and their team for T20, once again I say, we played well enough.

We need to take our revenge on Ireland and move on to next round. Therefore I would like everyone to keep their inspiration for our players and encourage them rather than thrashing them.Ofcourse we also have to take some blame for hurting ourselves so much. For example, already making Rubel a big hero here in BC prior to facing good oponents and when he fails to perform, we all are upset.Agreed he can clock 90 miles but needs controll and maintain a good length to succeed.
The way he was bowling those half volleyes, forget team India, even Irish top order might take him to the cleaners.Even lee went more than 13 an over, which tells us, its all about intelligient bowling in the shortest form of the game.

Secondly, our batting order was shocking.Zunaid proved that he can be there on the top and Ashraful should come at one down no matter what the situation is. We should bring in inform Riad next which should be followed by Nayeem.Placing Shakib lower down the order can be argued from the fact that we need a top class batsman for the last few overs . Raqibul has no place in the T20. Mushfiq had a bad day in office , therefore he deserves a second chance. If we are playing in similar pitch, razzak or rasel ought to come in lieu of predictable shahdat. Mashrafe did alright and like today, needs to finish his quata within 14 to 16 overs. Rubel also deserves another chance. Ash needs to realise the importance of their wicket and Tamim should not throw his bat at everything.

Inshallah, we will defeat ireland and our progress to second round will bring many more wins.
Who knows Bangladesh can even feature in semis. All I want is a word or two of encouragement for our players in the coming matches. Thanks.:flag:

Repeating from another thread.
I am totally in agree with Bengaliprince176 bro in another thread! I think today, we BD played very well! I clearly see that we are improving and going up! We are consistently putting up fights against the big teams for a change!!! I say I am thankful to Allah!
I hate to see us lose and it does not feel good to experience the red and green to leave the field after being at the recieving end! It's just my oppinion, yes, a win is a win and loss is a loss, I understand that, but I don't see much difference between today's lose and if we have won!! Yes we lost to India - the defending world 20/20 Champion, by 25 runs when the target was 181....! We did not get bowled out, we crossed 150, we were very much in the game most of the time! These are clear signs that we ARE learning to dance finally!
And bhais, This 20/20 achievement won't last very long and won't really get us anywhere solid cricketwise! Now we need to learn to stretch these innings and pace them out now and we need to last at the crease longer and hold on to our wickets! At the end of the day, as long as we are a test playing club, we will always be judged by how we fare out against the big 8 in Tests and ODIs. That's just my opion, we are all entitled to one.
Today, YesI can say that I am very proud of the Tigers!!! The Bangladesh cricket!!! I am very proud of Rubel, Shakib, Tamim, Naeem, Zunaid and all of the boys! Congrats to them for a well played game of cricket and big thanks to the captain Ash and the coach Siddons! Well done boys!
Go Bangladesh!
Go Tigers!!!

BD- 4/11 means that you have to bet 11 pounds to win 4 pounds if BD wins-

Ireland- 9/4 means that you have to bet 4 pounds to win 9 pounds if Ireland wins, so the odds are against Ireland. Let us hope that BD wins, they are not playing too badly, scoring more thn 150 runs against the top 20/20 team and world champs.

todat we had a win.

if tamim and ash played a bit sensibly after a good start. SAKIB was horrible, he did not play his narural, swweet timing and good placing shots which is enough for hih strike rate. he was going for 6 6 6. and if naeem played before the poor raqibul and mushfiq

This is 101 % true. I am not a big fan of T20 either. We need to win more ODIs frequently against top sides and thats whrere we will be marked. This T20 is just for fun. Win or loose, this is meant to entertain us. One of the many reasons for so much obsession with the Ind Game was we actually didn't see tigers on a cricket field long time and since its against our neighour we were excited as always .There is nothing wrong in that, but this game will not take us to our destination of becoming a top side in world cricket. We should jut enjoy this game and try to improve our hitting abilities and controlling runs which might prove useful in a crucial situation in ODIs.

Exactly.
Why not people look at the AUS vs WI match. Lee was so expensive and they played poor cricket comparing us even we have faced stronger team than WI. Most of the time we were in the game. Few mistakes took away us from the match. We are on the right track.
But it's also true that we need good replacement for m.rahim and rakib.

Two words for you naz_ca TOP CLASS!!
Good to see some positive thread after a lost match, win and lose are part of the game, and it should be taken positively, losses will come, but what we do after it is more important, that opens the opportunity for winning next time, whining and finding excuses will not take things anywhere,if win is wanted it should be desired, hungered and most importantly believed...

in any sport Believing u can do some thing is the utmost importance..u should believe that u can win no matters who is the opponent..we had that believe when we won against India last time in the world cup...and i think today we did a good job, there will be big overs in t 20, i dont think yuvraj 6 hitting made much difference, these things happens in t20.and u need to look beyond that..if something lacked was the belief compared to india this time..after ash's dismisal..it was visible in his face,as a captain he should be more mentally strong..coz a strong captain with strong vision can make hell lot of difference to a team..look at India its the belief dhoni has on his players. and see steve waugh...when he said in the 1999 world cup,we just have to win six straight matches without losing and the world cup is ours...he wasn't bragging we believed he could do it..and they won. by what i saw yesterday. i believe BD can win this cup,coz they have the potential and ability to win it and they played.but its not my believe that is needed.its ash's and the teams...but most importantly ash's coz he is the captain of the ship.the leader of the team.

right you are. we have gained valuable experience and lost nothing. we will continue accumulating experiences and after 20 years, we will be the most experienced team of the world cricket. we can ask the ICC to make an experience ranking.
Mushfiq had a bad day in office , therefore he deserves a second chance.
especially, I like this part. Musfique is a world class batsman wicket keeper. He will come back hard and start catching balls like Oliver Kahn and doing stumpings like Brad Haddin (even the ball evades him, he will let the gloves talk) and scoring runs like Usain Bolt. And also missing each chance gives you valuable experience. From this perspective he is the most experienced wicket kepper that Bangladesh has ever produced.

But it's also true that we need good replacement for m.rahim and rakib.

Isn't it better to use their ability than replace them. Our think tank cannot use them properly. The most important is "Yet our team perform according to form. Our Management (should be only Captain but comparing to our history of Test status our coach can interfere) cannot use them properly". In cricket you must know how to use your players. It is very critical game. Sometimes a good captain can use an out of form player. Because a player can have multiple qualities.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comhttp://www.banglacricket.com/alochona/ /><o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></P><P><FONT color=black><FONT face=For Example: If a batter is out of form captain can <o:p></o:p>
1. Change his batting order<o:p></o:p>
2. Ask not to play a particular shot<o:p></o:p>
3. Can use him to frustrate opponent by his sledging capability. Can tell “Just go and say the bowler a nasty word that the bowler can loose his temper (be careful from Match Referee)<o:p></o:p>
4. Can suggest him to just stay on the wicket without playing a single shot (it is little difficult in T-20 format), etc.

<o:p>Do we know how to use "Rubel Hossain?"</o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
How many times we just replace one with another?

lol....my point was we can play mithun in rakhi bulls place and since mushfiq had so many practice matches under him, its logical.

Nice thread, naz_ca! In fact I never understood why were we so (emotionally) hell-bent on beating India in this match. Yes, a win would have been fantastic - I would have loved if Mr Ishant sharma came out of the match knowing who Shakib Al Hasan was! - but this Indian team is pretty strong esp. with all that IPL experirnce under their belt and I don't think losing to them would be considered a disgrace by any means. I hope we have learnt some lessons from this match and we get them right against Ireland.

ha ha ha. I would not ask him to do that against Styen. I do not want to lose my cutie Mushy.
