Yeah! Another exciting season of NCAA Football is upon us! WOO Tailgating ;) !

The team I unconditionally I love:
Miami Hurricanes

Teams I hate:
Florida State Seminoles
Notre Dame FIghtin' Irish
Virginia Tech Hokies
UNC Tar-Heels
(pretty much everyone but the Hurricanes on the ACC)...

The team I absolutely, unconditionally despise:
Florida Gators

Miami's first four games make up, arguably, the toughest schedule in NCAA this year. The ranking of the teams are in parenthesis.

Game 1: @ FSU (19)
Game 2: Georgia Tech (15)
Game 3: Virginia Tech (7)
Game 4: Oklahomo (3) *Last year's runner-up.

Hurricanes to watch out for:
LB Sean Spence <--- BEAST
LB Arthur Brown
WR Travis Benjamin
QB Jacory Harris
RB Mike James

I am most likely driving up to Tallahassee for the Hurricanes/FSU season opener on Labor Day Night (Sept. 7th). Its going to be a helluva game ... it always is.

Not a big fan of College Football. I am a pro football fan. However, I root for PITT ( my old school ) and have unconditional love for the Cane's. I always admired their athletes. Love that logo. Used to be pipeline to NFL, and hopefully that starts again. Don't like Penn State and Notre Dame.

Welcome to my world.

Georgia waits for a rude awakening. If the Cowboys don't get them the Hogs sure will.

O'khalamma is over rated. USC will be tested early.
++++
I want to use the hate world when it comes to Notre Dame but I will go with dislike. Even though Lou Holts were there for some time.

Seminols: I love when they lose. USC is also up there at the dislike chart. Recently Texas berged in to that list as well. Ohio State, Michigan rounding up the list.

Go SEC baby!! Gators or Bama or even LSU can go all the way.

Tigers_Eye: agree with you on the Noles.

As for the SEC, they can rot in hell. :D

And let's see what the prima donna Bryce Brown can do for the Tennessee Vols. I, for one, am happy he didn't bring his drama over to the Canes' turf.

Why worry about Vols? They aren't even ranked. Any SEC team can give ACC champ a run for their money. Even the bottom dueler Miss State. :)

I don't know about that, bhaiya. The little Canes were putting up a huge fight against the Gators last year, till that bad call (PI) turned the game around ... and that was when the Canes were unranked, and the Gators where 2 (?) ... Tim "God" Tebow was looking pretty damn frustrated with our defense (especially Sean Spence) :)

Look at Miami's schedule (at least the first 4 games), and then tell me the SEC has it bad. :)

Oh, and I brought up the Vols because of the whole Bryce Brown saga (don't know if you followed it.) After all that, the dude had the guts to show up during CanesFest (Miami's fall season kickoff) wearing Vols gear!

Big XII and SEC both have 5 teams. However, SEC's five is in the top 15. Down this year should be Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina, Arkansas. But next year watch out. All had extreme good recruiting classes. Missouri is going suffer after Maclin left. I am hoping Harbough surprize the pesky USC this year again. Notre Dame is so over rated with their soft schedule.

As predicted. Georgia lost to Ok State at home. Bama showed their mettle even in penalty filled day. Otherwise the score would have been lopsided.

Muhahaha!! O'khalamma lost to BYU. Texas licking their chops, Bradford colar bone injury.

Next week's important games:

USC vs Ohio St. I wish buckeyes would put a good show and test USC. May be the freshman USC QB sees what is real football is. That Mcnight kid is just too good.

How bad is Oklahoma? Watch how BYU gets tested by Tulane (who??).

Role big blue role. Beat the Irish and throw them off the rankings. They don't deserve to be there.

Georgia will win against soft Game cocks!! LSU will make a lunch out of Vandy at home!!

Clemson at Ga Tech, Orange at Penn St, Hawkeyes at Iowa State, Purdue at Oregon.

Yahoo! User Rankings

1. Florida (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/ffa) - Deserves it. Reigning champions.
2. USC (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/uub) - One hit away from losing to Ohio State, Cal. Doesn't matter if they have six deep in RB.
3. Texas (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/tth) - Sleeper. Game against Ok State would be the decider of their season.
4. Alabama (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/aad) - Over rated just like last year. They will stumble.
5. Penn State (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/ppb) - Not a top 5 team for sure.
6. Oklahoma State (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/ood) - Impressive
7. Brigham Young (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/bbi) - Weak comference. So far so good but may lose focus and lose to Tulane this week.
8. Boise State (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/bbe) - Naah!!
9. LSU (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/lli) - Defense as strong as ever. Offense have some holes to fill.
10. California (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/ccd) - I hope they beat USC.

11. Oklahoma (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/ooc) - They will rise again only to falter in the big games.
12. Mississippi (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/mmo) - Watch out. Schedule is so favorable.
13. Ohio State (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/oob) - Litmus test. Weak schedule as well.
14. Utah (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/uuc) - Utes?
15. Virginia Tech (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/vvd) - Time for Beamer to retire.
16. Texas Tech (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/tto) - Will find out in 3 weeks.
17. Georgia (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/ggb) - Middle of the pack. Too much talent just not enough experience.
18. Missouri (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/mms) - Interesting to find out how they do in the conference.
19. Michigan State (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/mml) - lol. Just because you have to add someone from the big ten doesn't mean you have to add the spartans. That is a basketball school.
20. TCU (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/tta) - ???
21. Florida State (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/ffc) - Cheaters!!
22. Nebraska (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/nnd) - One more year before they can challenge the big teams.
23. Georgia Tech (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/ggc) - I always liked the yellow jackets. But new coach so needs time as well.
24. Tennessee (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/ttd) - So over rated.
25. Miami (FL) (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/mmi) - Nice win but still not in the big leagues.

Are you saying ACC is strong? They have lost every non-conf game so far. Big Ten is the biggest phony of 'em all. USC will crush Ohio St. They barely beat Navy. Only reason "they" don't have a permanent birth is due to the moronic BCS system. Everybody agrees on that.

Before Florida became a hotbed for recruiting, it was Da U that took all the cream of the crop that are abundant in the state of Florida. You must know that the sanctions placed on Da U were the real reasons behind the demise. They have managed to come out of it just recently, and very soon you will see the lure of the Hurricanes attracting the top draw once again back to them. Randy is the man for the job. He is turning it around. They have Mark Whipple as their OC, who groomed Big Ben when he was our QB coach.

(In the last 50 years) With the exception of Puke, all ACC team have their share of history in College football. Well even Puke had their days once upon a time. Granted last few years BYU, Utes are posting good wins but over all Moutain west is a doormat compared to ACC. Same with the Big ten. Even Illinios, Northwestern have better seasons than colorado State, New Mexico, Wyoming, UNLV.

I don't like BCS. Playoffs is the way to go. Every year it would mostly all SEC finals. But what can we do? Even Obama can't change that.

I so wished OS beat USC. O well, at least they were tested.

Auburn looks pretty good against Miss State. LSU some how managed to win against Vandy(unconvincingly). Houston pulled one for ages beating the Cowboys!! Spartans embarrassed themselves losing to Central Michigan. UCLA won the ugliest game of the year. Biggest phony ND was exposed. with only 4 road games in their schedule and playing against one ranked team all season they are most over rated team in US college football. I hope they lose to the spartans next week at home.

All he has to do is throw it to the right side of the field and the WR would have had all day to run and score but the idiot runs backwards and throws it away for intentional grounding

Doesn't/Scramble because of ole Sweater Vest.

ND offense is really good too, 10-2/9-3 the D will improve ... A couple of bad penalties took away a few big plays from them. They'll beat SC this year.

I am with you in all of the above. Specially Barkley is about to fall. It would be shame for USC not making it to the championship game with 4 NFL running backs in their roster. The other two can play in any starting lineup as well.

ND offense is really good too, 10-2/9-3 the D will improve ... A couple of bad penalties took away a few big plays from them. They'll beat SC this year.

South Carolina will beat Florida this year ... Spurrier Had em beat the 06 and 07. They Need to stop missing PAT's!
This is where we differ. ND plays one of the softEST schedule as always. So very hard to judge on how good is their offense is. On top of it they only have 4 road games. They really need to join a conference.

SC will be soundly beaten by Florida. This is a different team on a different mission.

Not only that, Iowa jumped to 13 from no where? Oregon to 16 and South Carolina still not ranked? Yet South Carolina took down the highest ranked last week.

For Iowa, we will see how good they are when Michigan visit in two week time. They at badger's town, and visiting spartans back to back.

LOL really? That's how you are going to say Miami won? "Sneaks one in?" Nothing about the young defense shutting out the mighty Sooner offense repeatedly? Nothing about the young offense showing incredible resiliency against the impenetrable OK defense? Miami was the better team tonight - no questions asked. We should have had more points on the board, though ... we made some stupid calls. And don't even get me started on the refs and some of those BS calls....

Yes, they had been doing well so far.

Does Arkansas have any chance at Gainesville? I don't think so. The only hope we have is Michigan losing to Div II school (or something like that). Florida don't need a blitz to sack Mallet. Their pass rush is that good. If Mallet has some time watch out though. I think if he can make some decent # of 3rd down passes we will keep it close. Florida by 2 touchdown at least.

Right you are. Alex Tahada is a scholarship kicker who has range but no accuracy. That sucks. But I blame the the coach's play calling and the QB Mallet. In every game so far he has at least thrown three passes over his wide open receivers. Every single game. Sometimes having a big arm can backfire.

It is a Bama-Gator SEC championship already set. And both will remain undefeated and one will represent SEC.

SEC suspends Florida-Arkansas crew
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=ap-sec-officialssuspended&prov=ap&type=lgns

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP)—The Southeastern Conference has suspended officials from last weekend’s Arkansas-Florida game after the crew was involved in its second controversial call of the year.
Referee Marc Curles’ crew called a personal foul on Arkansas defensive lineman Malcolm Sheppard in the fourth quarter as the Gators were rallying for a 23-20 victory. The league said there was no video evidence to support the call.

The same group of officials called the LSU-Georgia game earlier this month, which included a late unsportsmanlike conduct penalty the league said shouldn’t have been called.
The SEC says the crew will be removed from its scheduled assignment this weekend and will not be assigned to officiate as a crew until Nov. 14.
The league said the crew’s bowl assignments could also be impacted.

At end of the day the $$$ counts. Had Florida lost that game, they would have fallen behind USC and Texas. Georgia visiting the swamp.
USC going to Oregon.
Texas at Oklahoma State.
Miami licking wounds and going to Wake. This can turn out ugly.
South Carolina at Tennessee.
UPenn at Northwestern.
Kansas at Texas Tech.

W Virginia at South Florida.
Ga Tech at Vandy.

All these games should be very competitive. I wouldn't be surprised if half of them are upsets.

Things are heating up now. We are at the final stress. Last week some big games took place.
Pac 10
USC's rose bowl hope is almost gone now. Go Ducks!!
Big 12
Texas made long strides and awaits for Missouri or Kansas State or Nabraska.
Big 10
Still some game left. Inside track Iowa, Penn and Ohio State gunning for BCS bid.
Big East
Cinci at Pitt. That when everything will be decided.
ACC
Georgia Tech is clearcut favorite. Miami was so lucky last weekend.
SEC
Gators and Tide are rolling. However, LSU Tigers can turn things around. They have the defense to do that. Quality teams can't win consistantly each week. Georgia, Auburn, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas all cut throating each other.
M West
TCU looks good. So does Utah and BYU.

With the exception of two huge games, this week is a sedated week for College Football.

#9 LSU visiting #3 Bama. And #15 Ohio State visiting #11 Penn State.

Let us see what happens. I want LSU and Penn State to win.

Both Oregon (8) and Iowa (4) fall to unranked Stanford and Northwestern ... respectively.

So close. Almost. How about them over-rated Ohio State?

Alabama yet again gets help from the SEC refs, wow!!

Biggest over-rated team in the history of the game was slayed by NAVY. Bye bye Charley!! To add salt to their injury, Michigan lost too, lol.

USC almost lost had it not been Red-devils mistakes. They gifted them the game. I still wonder why Pete Carroll is sitting Mitch Mustain on the bench.

The other USC got whipped by the Hogs.

I can't believe WF lost that ... now Miami's ACC title hopes are, surprisingly, in the hand of DUKE!

I saw that ND bust coming from a mile. Hyped up to the max; zero substance. Clausen for Heisman? Give me a break.

Jahvid Best's injury looks TERRIBLE. I hope the guy is okay.

And, I will share this video. One of the greatest plays from this season.

"This, ladies and gentlemen, is HURRICANE FOOTBALL."

I was fortunate enough to be a part of that crowd ... every single block ushered a collective gasp from the crowd ... phenomenal.

Why don't you say you're a proud fan of Pirates ha? LOL if anything that Cincy have over Pittsburgh it's the great Reds, Pirates rivalry haha we always win it but we always end up 5th and Pirates always end up 6th in NL central.

Doesn't matter how much Cincy or TCU reserves. Money talk. Cincy or TCU can't travel 70k fans. That is the bottom line for the sponsors. I dislike BCS and the bowl system as much as all of college football fans. Yet this is what we have to live with. Even a one loss SEC team will be in the championship game with Texas who would run the table. If texas loses then may be then TCU or Cincy can get in depending they have to run the table as well.

If Div II can have a playoffs, why can't Div I? because of the sponsors and money involved.

Because of the boosters. The richest team in college football even have their own network NBC to broadcast their pathetic games. And they don't want to share their money with any conference. I wish they get burried every year. Can't be happier for the huskies.

ND deserved this humiliation because the way they treated Willingham. He had 7-4 season and they fired him because the boosters didn't like the skin color. Some games that can have huge impact on the outcome.

(2) Bama @ Auburn.
If Bama loses and wins the SEC championship game, will SEC represent over no loss teams like TCU?

Ark @ (17) LSU
A LSU loss will certainly put Les Miles in hot seat. Even though he won a title 2 years ago.

Georgia @ (7) Georgia Tech
Mark R.'s stable job will no longer be stable if he loses this one.

(8) Pitt @ WV.
BCS hopes for Pitt. Big big game.

Nevada @ (6) Boise.
Undefeated teams (conference). Something has to give.

(23) NC @ NC state

(15) Clemson @ South Carolina.

(20) Ole Miss @ Mississippi State

(14) Va Tech @ Virginia

(11) Ok State @ Oklahoma.
Ok State is hoping for a BCS bid. Sooners will take the spoilers roll.

(19) Miami @ South Florida.

Florida St @ (1) Florida.

UCLA @ (24) USC.

(22) Utah @ (18) BYU.
This should be interesting.

Tenn @ Kentucky

All Rivalry games. Miami, Clemson, Ok state, Va Tech, Ole Miss are ranked and will be tested.

There is only one power house in Florida right now. Fl state and Miami use to be but not anymore. Wins against Oklahoma, Florida state both barely, Gosh!! They are a 6-5 teams. Five gimme wins. Virginia, Puke, Wake Forrest, UCF, Florida A&M. The first three have only 7 conference wins this season with all losing record. They only have one quality win that is against Georgia Tech at home early in the season. Fifth in ACC (if NC wins today) can't be a powerhouse. I am not going to talk about a Florida State. I dislike the Seminoles. However Miami is on the rise. Recruiting is the Key. They should not have any problem in that because Florida has always been the hot bed for athletes.

Pitt's loss only hurts them for a BCS berth. They can still win the Big East. At home with last meeting still fresh in mind, they should give all that Cinci can handle.

Bama, Chora gula some how won against Auburn. Can't wait till the Saturday games start.

Never said Miami is a powerhouse "right now." I meant historically. The road to dominance in the Sunshine State goes through these three schools.

And how many "gimme wins" did Florida have? CSU, FIU, Troy, etc ... quality opponents!

And why don't we talk about why Florida does NOT want to play Miami? Too challenging for the mighty Gators? And don't give me a "SEC is challenging as it is!" argument ... 5 of the ACC teams right now are ranked while 4 of SEC are.

I'd like to see what happens to Florida after Timmy Teblow and Urban leave.

Hope the 'Noles give the Gators a beating today (though the chances are slim).

10 teams with 7-5 or better record. No conference can say that. ACC have one coach (Fl State) with natioal title. SEC lol, FL, SC, LSU, Bama.

As for florida's schedule, lol, "dog eat dog" conference is SEC. When you have 8 games against those teams you don't can't even compare schedules with any other conference.

Championship week coming up. "Put up" or "shut up" time. I think for the first time we have six undefeated teams at this point. One will lose for sure. So we can have potentially five undefeated teams after the regular season. Texas loss then we will have TCU or Cincy or even Boise St playing for a national title against Fl or Bama.

I want a BCS bust. Cincy over Pitt. That would take away two at large bid from big six conference. Almost a garanteed win awaits for Boise St.

BCS teams

Texas

His last comment is something that I have to quote. This is what shows what type of man he is.

I wasn't drawing comparisons between the two conferences. I was merely pointing out that it is not credible for Florida to say that they don't want to play Miami because their schedule is already challenging when their OOC games are against joke teams. Tim Teebag crying like a lil bitch on the sidelines. At least wait until the game is over and you're in the locker room if you want to cry it out. Every sports media outlet made him look like a modern day "prophet" over the past 4 years. He has everything handed to him, and something goes wrong and he doesn't know how to react. For a guy who talks all big in everything he does, he sure did look like a sissie crying on the sidelines.

Yeah, terrible game for Miami. Apart from that opening kickoff, and the last two minutes of the game, NOTHING went Miami's way ... it didn't even look like we had an O-Line ... fml. We had some key injuries to begin with, and now looks like Graig Cooper and Jacory Harris is battered up really bad. Oh well, next year - next year. I am happy with this season's progress, though. They couldn't seal the deal with the bowl game - but ... whatever. I just hope this motivates them for next season.

The Commentators were saying the cold weather bothered them badly. When the team came out for warmups most of them went back in right away. Changed cloths to full sleeves. Whereas, Wisconsin players said it was just like spring practice weather.

No matter how much I dislike Florida State and Deion Sanders, that game was emotionally charged for me. Hats of to Coach Bowden. What a fitting finish to one of the greatest coaches of College Football. ACC represented well.
+++

Tebow goes out as a winner as well. What a career!! What records. Truly one of a kind. Doesn't matter if he makes it to the next level or not, he is a class act on and off the field (so far). Gators finish with back to back 13 wins seasons. First time ever in NCAA Div I history.

Today Arkansas plays East Carolina.

Watch Mallet and his arms. This may be his last game at college level. He will out shine all college prospect at the next level. McCoy, Bradford, everybody. If he comes back watchout for Arkansas next year. Florida, LSU all tasted what he can do at their house. Because of the kicker we lost both games.

Feel sorry for Colt and Texas fans. Alum Babubhai. Kisu ekta bolen. HHS.

Not sorry for Mack Brown at all. He already got one.

I wish Florida played here. Anyways, Bama deserved the Title this year. Arkansas played early and they were tough. That Mount Cody 360 is a defensive monster. When he stood as a full back in the goal line. No texas touched him let alone Ingram. Which sane defensive back is going take on 360 pounder who is looking for contact?

SEC is stacked each year. If no playoffs are implemented, I make a motion to make the SEC title game as the Championship game. Why go through all this trouble to beat up other conferences representatives?

4 straight years in a row. Florida, LSU, Florida, Bama. Before that it was LSU and Tennesse. Soon we may see Georgia in that list as well.

In BCS era PAC 10, Big 10 has won one, Big 12 and ACC have 2 total of 6 titles which equals SEC alone.

We have the best facilities, best coaches and the best skilled players.

I thought Mack Brown should have opened up more in the first half with that QB when the score was close. He was super conservative and played to Alabama's strength. You can run the ball. But, where was the play action off it? Once they started to take more shots in second half, the QB looked comfortable and had a superb effort. When they converted the2 pointer, I was sure that Texas will pull it out. However, the rookie never spotted the blitz from right, which led to the fumble. Alabama QB didn't impress me at all. They have a NFL type defense and lots of players who will play on Sundays.

bama QB is not a star. He holds the ball too long. Can't run when in trouble. It is the defense and the running game that brought them here. There are more exciting teams in college football to watch than Alabama.

Bama's line both offense and defence is unbelievable. Big strong and can also move. They are having another great recruiting class. Which is a bummer for other SEC teams.

With all due respect, TE bhai, I think reaping off of conference glory is extremely useless. I think it hardly matters how well your conference does - its down to the single team you support. That's why I get really frustrated with all the "PAC10 is the best!" or "SEC is the best!" debates.

And you are SUCH a Florida fanboi LOL. I wish they'd play Miami more often.

Via text message (http://forums.projectcovo.com/showthread.php?p=1093590771#), Carroll said: "You know I haven't responded to a NFL question in two years."

But a league source said Carroll is interested in the job and is trying to persuade USC offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates to join him in Seattle -- as opposed to Bates pursuing the same position with the Chicago Bears.

Said another source close to Carroll: "You're about to see a big headline that shakes up the major college football (http://forums.projectcovo.com/showthread.php?p=1093590771#) world," in reference to the Seahawks' development. The Seahawks did not confirm Carroll as a leading candidate but also did not deny it.

Lane Kiffin was a bust the moment he started big mouthing as winning against FL, Georgia, LSU.

USC program is in deep trouble with the NCAA investigation. Kiffin was there when it all started getting out of hand with Reggie Bush. He is a bad apple. Will get caught soon.
