Sharifullah is also an unknown name to me in the team. From his cricinfo profile, he seems to be an all-rounder. Any details on him?

Can't find reason why Shohrawardy Shuvo is being ignored continuously. One reason I find is that, may be selectors are not interested with another Left-arm spinner as we already have 3 in national team, rather they want to see other spinners and how they perform. Anyway, its not a good justification. It was a very good opportunity to test Shuvo against a international side.

Suhrawardy should be there (If he is in the country Hazz should not be a factor).ZIAUR RAHMAN is not there why?He is our A team member.
Any way team seems like our A team(No Academy player or U 19 thats good).Probably HANNAN will be wicket keeper and will drop Shagir and Tarek.Best of luck boys I want to win tomorrow before they(ZIM) aclimatize!!!

This is a simple trick from the Bangladeshi selectors point of view. There is no specialist LA spinners in the side, meaning selectors do not want to let them exposed against LA spinners. At the same time, practice match venue is Fatullah so that ZIM do not get the opportunity to see and get used to the main match ground (Mirpur). Actually all countries try to apply these sort of trick on the visitors.

Come on guys its just a warm up match
Remember what happend to Bangladesh when they played Zimbabwe A and what impact that had on the series.
I think the second practise match will be a better judge at what will happen on the series

You can't compare this with that. Situation was totally different. Ban had to travel non-stop from WI to SA following month long away games and play match on next day. I am sure it will be hard for any player to get up in the morning, much less to play on that day. Nevertheless, I sure Zim will improve as they go along.

Good win for us. Faisal showed that he has something in him to be considered for the next step.
National team should not get over-confident though after this win by BCB XI. We still have to play well in every match to beat ZIM. Its not going to come easy.

He has played international cricket with a severely flawed technique. Any decent bowler can expose his weakness against incoming deliveries. He always played remarkably well in domestic cricket to be considered for the national team.
I think he might have improved his technique in the last three years, but he should not be no way near the national team until he can prove himself again at A-team level in away series.

yes, we got humilated by zim A, and the naysayers had a field day talking about "quality, shwality" etc.
we cannot let up even if we have a 4-0 lead in the final game.

Faisal Hossain, I guess, went with National Team in WI when Whatmore was in charge. We drew one test and lost the other one. Pilot, Rafiq scored centuries on that tour. Isn't it correct?

He performed quite well in those Maharashtra matches from what I remember - I certainly don't claim to know too much about him, but I really think we're missing a consistent player here.

that 100% true abt Hannan Sarkar. Even at the first class level in Bangladesh its hard to find a batsman with that much technical flaw (but he isnt the only one ofcourse but def one of the notable ones)....

Come on guys its just a warm up match
Remember what happend to Bangladesh when they played Zimbabwe A and what impact that had on the series.
I think the second practise match will be a better judge at what will happen on the series
Its a warm-up match. ODI one will give you a better picture :)

Alhamdulillah, Allah be praised!
I am really relieved and honestly glad that BCB XI won the first practice match against Zimb. But man I cannot rest well until the series is in our control.:flag:
And I must say I wouldn't say anything too demeaning or disrespectful or hurtful to ZImbabwe cricket even if we have a clean sweep at the end of the series, because fellow BC members & Tigers/BD cricket fans/friends/well-wishers like zimfan, Andy_roberts, battye frequent these threads, forum and I wouldn't say anyhting that even at a slightest level to hurt their feelings or disrespect them in any way. These are our/Tigers real friends and well-wishers! They have been very kind and nice to us always. And this series of course they will cheer Zimbabwe, it's their country, team, it's only natural!
There are only knowledge to be gained for Bangladesh cricket/us from Zimbabwe's extremely rich cricket culture and history! We should be thankful that Zimbabwe so eagerly plays us and honors us as a friend nation.
And my dear fellow friends, remember the wheel of fortune quietly rolls and changes just when we are blinded by cockiness and errogance, the noise of short-lasting cheer and madness was so loud we didn't hear the warning siren that followed soon! Be prepared to accept reality and to fight!
Viva Bangladesh!:flag:

You can't compare this with that. Situation was totally different. Ban had to travel non-stop from WI to SA following month long away games and play match on next day. I am sure it will be hard for any player to get up in the morning, much less to play on that day. Nevertheless, I sure Zim will improve as they go along.
agreed. further more, BD players were borrowing gears from Zimbos for that match.

Warm up matches mean nothing, the black caps lost to a south african domestic team before the champions trophy
the bcb Xi had more to play for, its full of players wanting to play international cricket, while the zimbabwean team are climatizing
its a known fact that non subcontinent teams struggle in asia and asian teams struggle elsewhere (unless you are india where you can buy flat wickets :))

Agreed, and furthermore, their luggage did not arrive, they had no water at the hotel, no change of clothing, should not have played that match without their gear and clothes. They suffered from terrible jetlag, their manager should be sacked for booking that long flight with so many connections, no wonder their luggage did not arrive with them.

warmup match outcome
talha and tareq aziz bowled well-------- they might be considered for future replacement.
faisal dickens----most probably he improved. he is a regular performer in domestic league but this time he played exceptionally well against Maharashtra (both bowling and batting), against zim also he got success in both batting and bowling.
hannan sarker------- seems like he has same habbit (pedro Collins syndrome)
mehrab Jr and nafis iqbal---- need big score, 20+ run will not secure ur place in national team
sahagir pavel-- most probably improving day by day
Raihan uddin arafat-------- not a noticeable performer in domestic, A team, PCL, or even any para/moholla team but some how manage to get into BCCB XI, this is not the first time, it happened before also. seems like some uncle connection. have to find out.

His record is poor no doubt. Keeping in mind that was 5 years ago, and that it's now his "peak" performance age, I think he deserves a call up if we can spare a match or two for him by winning the series.

Lawl. "Overrated"? Well it seems it's not that easy to keep him under pressure after the way he's been scoring lately is it?
well he has a point, but thats nullified for the most part that coventry's 194 was highly chancy including a dropped catch before he scored 30 runs. tamim's 154 had a single chance offered when he was already on 118. asides from the other points of tamim being quite consistently a "Mr 50" against top sides as well.

I could say the same about tamim iqbal. very overrated
put some pressure on this guy and he is walking wicket. Can't work the singles around
dont agree with that. He is the 2nd best player after sakib in BD and he is very much consistent and he has capability of getting big score. I think he is underrated compare to some indian and pakistani batsman.
and if u say, put some pressure on this--------- this guy handle pressure superbly, u can ask zaheer khan.
