In the stats above, look at how many matches Bangladesh have played in ODIs and compared that to in Tests. There is a reason behind our batting success in the just concluded Tri Nation's Tournament. And I believe this is why we have improved in ODIs.

We have played more ODIs compared to some of the more established test nations (SA, NZ, WI, PAK) in the time frame that ICC has considered these Championships and rankings.

We have a 2-match test series just around the corner, and I think we should not hope for too much from our One-Day-somewhat successful team in these 2 tests. Because we have played the least amount of test matches among all the test playing countries.

I think after the 2011 World Cup is over, we should concentrate more on Test cricket and start for arranging more Test matches, even if they're only home-tests.

You mean we developed in ODI because we played 5-6 games more than those test playing nations? While those extra games could be the games we played against Zimbo twice last year. And why not Zimbo getting developed as we did, playing same numbers of games [for example]?

Palying good number of games in a year is good for any team but those stats hardly can prove anything on development of a team I guess. Though I love to put that logic in our TEST games case [for you know why ... ];)

Agree...but I believe there are major flawas in ICC plan for developing cricket nations like ours...they tend to use the concept in different way to benefit themselves and the elite "nations".

We also need to work on our "own" for improvement and betterment of our cricket instead of fully depending on governing body of cricket nations.

Our structure is centered around one-day cricket, this is the format our players grow up in. So there is no surprise that we are doing better in the format.

If we want to excel in Test cricket too, we got to develop our FC structure first. Keep getting thrashed by other Test teams won't help much otherwise.

100% agree.

Add to the fact pitches, facilities/divisional boards outside Dhaka etc.

I think that our team can beat New Zealand if we just improve the pace department just a little.
