You know if they want to expand cricket in asia they should include those non international test playing teams such as China, Malasia, Afganistan etc. They are part of Asia aswell ... this is why cricket will always be minor compared to soccer where they let everyone participate.

Are you talking about Bashar era?!

The current team is on track and playing well lately. They lost the ODI series and Test against the English only because of Hill and his ilk - the Darrell Hairs of the world.

Bad umpiring also helped the the Kiwis to win over the Tigers in last tour also.

bad umpiring may be part of game game but biased umpiring ???

the umpires gave all bad decisions against us for the whole series since the NZ tour. decisions got frequent and frequent in the eng series.

how many we got on our side ???

trott given caught behind when hit on helmet.
trott given runout when nadir shah used common sense on what may have happened in the missing frame.

both were in such situation when the game was away from us. but england got decisions when they needed it to change the game for their favor and we lost the plot

"Much, much worse, though, was my impression while watching - later backed up by a complaint from the Bangladeshis - that the decisions were not honest umpiring errors, but came from that horrible racist colonial belief that the Tigers could not possibly be good enough to beat England. And damned if Hill was going to help them try.

The Bangladeshis might be the weakest team in world Test cricket, but they deserve the respect of their peers and the officials.

And they're fun to watch. I'd rather see Tamim Iqbal blast another quick 30 than Jonathan Trott crawl to 64 in 64 overs any day.

Hill and his ilk - the Darrell Hairs of the world - should be banned from standing as Test umpires."

KP, I agree with the umpiring comment. However, I honestly don't think we'd stand a chance against Australia. Just ONE left-armer bowling at 150km/h consistently was too much for us during our last visit to Australia, and now they have Bollinger too. I'd take a decent performance, because in my opinion, a win is out of the question against that side.

Rommel I fully agree with you..and i'll take your back because kalpurush shouldve never taken a shot at you for what you said..you had the right 2 get back at him..I mean what is this? Just because he has a different opinion of the situation so you call him a moni? Thats very shameful and just shows sometimes that we dont have the freedom of writing what we want because people might get take a jab at you..

Also yes it was very bad umpiring..obviously we didnt get the call our way but having people still complaining about it is absolutely ridiculous..we cant just cry over bad umpiring..this happens in every sport..the weaker teams really dont get nearly the calls the stronger teams do..i remember watching the ncaa tournament that a big time underdog by the name of Robert morris university played Villanova University and believe me, there were almost every single call against them..the referees basically gave them the game..is it fair? no definitely not..but again is life fair? That is a no 2..and unfortunately we are a weak team and if we really want 2 prove ourselves then we really gotta start outplaying oppositions big time..which we are failing to do..

Tiger Bhai...your post seems contradictory to me! You rally for freedom of speech but when I wrote against bad/poor/biased umpiring it is in your word– “having people still complaining about it is absolutely ridiculous.” Why is that?? Biased umpiring took away many wins from us – both Tests and ODIs. If we continuously keep losing matches because of biased umpiring – it will take us to nowhere and it would only make stronger “their” (<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comhttp://www.banglacricket.com/alochona/ /><st1:country-region w:st=Bangladesh</st1:country-region>’s Test status hotao andolon) case.

And I never took a shot personally at Rommel. Though I was a bit upset about the comment he made earlier regarding whining which I wasn’t. If you don’t speak up against the poor/biase umpiring it will continue our misery and eventually break our young kids moral apart.

kalpurush bhai..ok fair point..you made your point and you feel entitled 2 make your point..the thing is this is yes the 2nd england odi we bad umpires against us and then the 2nd test england test..then the nz test with mccullums catch..thing is though out of those 3 games i think only 1 we lost because of bad umpiring..no point of giving ifs and buts because to be fair england outplayed us in both tests..so i cant really agree on losing games continuously because of bad umpiring..if you feel you can counter my argument then by all means lay out all your facts on how we lost games due 2 bad umpiring..overall i feel like we have 2 blame ourselves for not winning the matches..

Also what rommel says was a good point in my opinion..bad umpiring happens in sports and it will happen 2 us the most because we are still a minnow..you might have thought you didnt mean 2 take a shot at rommel but i personally think it was..calling him a moni was pretty rude in my opinion..yes i kno you might have not liked the comment but does that mean you should call him a name? That was pretty uncalled for in my book..and it obviously hurt him..and also speaking up about the issue..no offense but constantly talking about it here is not going 2 do any good..if you want 2 speak up 4 the kids then write 2 the icc if you feel its such a big issue..just talking about it here all the time is just not going 2 help our cause..you can say it a couple of times but after a while it just becomes an example of whining..

Bhais and Bons, Bad umpiring is a part of the game. The sad thing is, weaker teams usually suffer more as a result of the bad umpiring. WHY? Because weaker teams usually create much fewer chances, add to that the chances they ruin themselves[drops] and then add another 2 bad decisions per innings and it means we have to take 15 wickets per innings to get a team all out and 30 in a test match to win. Which in my opinion is beyond our reach. That is why the decisions which go against us seem extremely harsh, but the truth is, these are human errors and over a long period of time things will balance out. We just have to prepare a team which is capable of taking 25-30 wickets in a test match. Until then we will have to rely on bowlers who can take 15-20 wickets and error-free umpires.
But for now, I think we have missed out on winning an ODI and drawing a test due to human errors.

reasons why we should win:

1. Weakened Pakistan team(especially with a couple of good pacers on our side+green bouncy pitch should do the trick ;)) beware though their pace attack is a concern but no reason why we shouldn't win!

2. we are 8/10 from being an Elite team...WE lack that one Batsmen who can win it for us...Alhamdulillah! we are getting closer and closer everyday and I am proud of Bangladesh Cricket Team despite the losing record because when you compare our rate of improvement with other test playing teams, we are EXPONENTIALLY FASTER than the rest, when they first started out(although one factor to consider is that on the 21st century more cricket is being played than it used to be....)!

3. Be patient people, Luck will open up for us one day.....these umpires will make decision FOR us, rather than against us!

do consider the fact that our Spearhead Pacer Mortaza was kept out for a while and our best Batsmen(Ashraful) is horrificly out of form...these two getting together and the rest doing their usual job should see Bangladesh win 3 matches out of 5 we play): this is a huge improvement in my book where we are used to winning about 1 out of 15 matches against G8.

Poor umpiring is no excuse to our performances..and what beshideshi said is very correct..since we dont create that many chances, the chances we create and are not given are very crucial 2 us..but rather then crying over umpiring decisions we should look at how we should create more opputunities..poor umpiring is by no means a main reason..fact is we are still not a good team..i wouldnt say we suck but we are a very average team still..i would still consider ourselves only minnows as we still cannot beat top teams..we are definitely closing the gap though and are improving..we'll keep getting better if we take the right approach..its easy 2 give excuses but at the end of the day, people dont care about bad umpiring..all people care about is the Ws which we really need 2 get

Yes it can but still cant use that excuse..if you keep on using that excuse then im sorry my friend but we are not going 2 go anywhere..whatever happened against england was unfortunate and we cannot do anything about it so we have 2 move on..and it affects our performances because our players get down 2 easily..once a wicket doesnt come by, their body language drops and they just pray for a wicket rather then fight for it..so yes umpiring decisions affect us because going back 2 my point we dont create enough opputunities..if our bowling was more lethal then we would not have this problem..

So your making an assumption that I did not watch the series? I watched the whole damn thing and yes the umpiring was horrible but borderline racism? Where the hell are you getting this from? This just shows how insecure some people are about our race..umpiries did not go against us because of our race, its because we are a weaker team and they obviously have some bias against the stronger teams..thats just the way it is and if people fail 2 realize that then I'm sorry but its pointless 2 argue about this issue then..
