I didnt realize this before, but this serise seems to be perfect time for US fans. Its 7 am, I just got to the office, and the match starts in 30 minutes.
October 3, 2002, 07:04 AM
not perfect for U.S. - Perfect for you!!
That's a good Job you got there....just don't get caught... they got video cameras these days...
October 3, 2002, 07:09 AM
Nah. I am in IT. All we do is wait for a disaster to happen. Other times, there is only Internet to pass time.
It is the best proffession in the world. Wont you agree?
October 3, 2002, 07:22 AM
That's beautiful. The funny thing will be if disaster happens at an intense time of the game. 5 runs needed for SA to win- 6 balls left.. Tapash is bowling. Can he do it?? --- The phone rings - Rajputro get over here, we been hacked - losing all our datas...NOOOOOOO
I hope BD bowls first - then I can catch the batting....my class starts NOW...so until then - Good Bye and Enjoy.
October 3, 2002, 07:26 AM
Good one. :D
SA won the toss. I am sure he will make BD bat first.
October 3, 2002, 07:34 AM
My bad. SA elected to bat. Thats good. At least better than the worse.
October 3, 2002, 07:41 AM
All pacer team. But it seems the best line up for now. Lets hope luck favors us.
October 3, 2002, 07:42 AM
Taposh started with a maiden over. Nice start.
October 3, 2002, 07:43 AM
Dropped: Sumon, Anwar, Rafuqul and Rafique
Maiden for Taposh Baisya :P
October 3, 2002, 07:44 AM
3 runs in 3 overs. Monju had a maiden too.
WOW. Am I dreaming? Whats going on there!!!
October 3, 2002, 07:47 AM
habibul bashar dropped instead of al shahriar - how can this be? our only test-class batsman?
bringing in talha for rafique makes sense, if only on paper
October 3, 2002, 07:51 AM
with sanwar able to bowl some spin, i would hope khaled mahmud is not asked to bowl a full 10 overs (alok being the other spinner). any chance spin will work today?
October 3, 2002, 07:51 AM
Dropping Sumon, I dont know what to say.
However, so far, seems like its a pacer's heaven. Monju and Taposh is really pressing them. Talha should do better than Rafiq on this pitch.
But sumon? (sigh) :(
October 3, 2002, 08:01 AM
Al Sahariar 19 18 1 309 62* 18.17 0 2 2
Tushar Imran 10 9 0 253 65 28.11 0 2 1
October 3, 2002, 08:07 AM
Back to reality. Now they are getting hammered.
Taposh just gave 14 runs in one over.
October 3, 2002, 08:13 AM
still, a good opening spell to keep them to 46 in the first 10 overs. no wickets though. the opening bowling is getting better...
October 3, 2002, 08:16 AM
Why did i just pay myself out. You guys h8 me huh. I'm sorry I'll try and get a wicket to pay back for my first two balls
October 3, 2002, 08:17 AM
Oh boy!!! Talha is getting hammered there. Here is his first over...
4 4 . 1 1 1
October 3, 2002, 08:20 AM
And it hurts. I can't seem to keep line and length together. Maybe I should change to around the wicket. Na too early
October 3, 2002, 08:22 AM
is like some of us trying to show bill gates how to make money... when you send boys to play men, what else can happen.
btw, habibul_fan man, what time is it in australia now - don't you have homework or something? how do you spend so much time on bangladesh cricket? we're glad you are here though, don't get me wrong
October 3, 2002, 08:25 AM
don't know what "it is grassed" might mean but a better second over. at least he doesn't have 10 wides by now.
what's up with taposh bowling on and manjurul resting. who had the better opening spell?
October 3, 2002, 08:25 AM
It's been the skool hols for the last two weeks but it's back to school on Monday. Well all i do in my life is play computer games, play cricket, chat to friends and this message board.
October 3, 2002, 08:26 AM
You ought to thank me although now they have brought in Polly
October 3, 2002, 08:28 AM
Good job from Talha. They deserved that for taking Talha lightly. Go tiger.
October 3, 2002, 08:28 AM
It has Sanwar Hossain as a bowler.....does that mean Anwar Hossain Monir?
October 3, 2002, 08:30 AM
I did i for you guys. Thanks Raj. My first ODI wicket :D
October 3, 2002, 08:32 AM
well the boy bowled like a man in that over!
but of course they keep getting hammered...
October 3, 2002, 08:33 AM
2nd wicket for Talha.
October 3, 2002, 08:35 AM
awesome job by the boy-man to get 2 wickets! good cathes as well.
October 3, 2002, 08:36 AM
And Rafiq hat you even more i love all the credit it pumps me up. If you guys haven't realised i'm Talha
October 3, 2002, 08:37 AM
Pollock took it real ez and promoted himself from 5/6 to 3. I wish I could see his face when he got out. However, this team has endless good batsmen... kallis, klusener...
Great job habibul_fan. Keep it up.
October 3, 2002, 08:39 AM
is a part time spin bowler. anwar hossain munir is a medium pacer. if they have one of them, it's probably the latter. crickinfo is confused.
October 3, 2002, 08:43 AM
I am sure its Sanwar.
October 3, 2002, 08:44 AM
Why's he down as a bowler then?
October 3, 2002, 08:47 AM
Coz he bowls occationally. CricInfo doesnt know much about BD players.
October 3, 2002, 09:23 AM
well, with the run rate near 6, this is easily going for 300+. the rate can go to 7-8 before they are done, meaning we may be embarrassed big time. need some wickets to slow it down.
October 3, 2002, 09:55 AM
Yup. This will be another mountain to climb. Which will make us drop down the slope.
October 3, 2002, 10:02 AM
much better stretch from sanwar/khaled mahmud before drinks. pilot made one variation to his usual theme of bowling sujon for 10 straight - this time it was a one over break. i thought they would change after drinks, they didn't and here we go with the run rate again
October 4, 2002, 12:37 AM
I think Captain Pilot and the two coaches has told Talha to keep his pace down.
TV commentators were saying that Talha is only military medium *!?!@!?! He was also bowling at the same pace as Monju and Tapash too.
Still, military medium pacer took 4 wickets at the end? And this was only his 2nd ODI match? That is some asking.
Another thing, can anybody find out how many 16 year old players have had played for their respective countries who is a bowler? - We know a lot of batsman who has entered the international scene at the age of 16 - Ashraful, Gibbs, Tendulkar - we see many batsman, but aren't there any bowler at this age?
October 4, 2002, 01:31 AM
Afridi, Sharif there's a lot to of youngest player to: on cricinfo.
Youngest foreigner to write in a Bangladeshi message board. :D
October 5, 2002, 11:08 AM
Nice plug for yourself. :)
I am just happy that the boy-man (who came up with that one?) has taken wikcets where Man-Boy Manju (He's still my fav after Masri) is still barren.
