I am looking on in disbelief, and have pinched myself a couple of times, but yes, it does seem like Tatenda Taibu is keeping without wearing any kind of pads on his legs. First time I'm seeing this.

He is probably wearing the new ultra light keeping pads. Which used to wears under the trousers.

may be he is wearing pads inside like shin pads footballers use, or close in fielders use

SL finishes 173

target for zim 174

auntu
May 3, 2010, 10:07 AM
So 174 to chase down for the Zimbo boys. It's very hard and they have to score with barrage of strokes from Chigumbura and others.

As this WI pitches are hard to chase down tough targets. It might be going to be another easy SL victory unless the fighting spirits of the African's comes out of them.

rain interrupts the game

auntu
May 3, 2010, 10:51 AM
Looks like rain might save Zimbo.

al-Sagar
May 3, 2010, 11:20 AM
It is going to be a 11 over chase and Zimbabwe need 106 to win.

al-Sagar

Three overs of Powerplay, of which one is already gone. So two more overs of restrictions. One bowler can bowl three overs, while the rest can bowl a maximum of two each

Geez rain again? England vs WI match will be cancelled?

al-Sagar
May 3, 2010, 11:36 AM
5 overs gone..... so game will be counted

Tigers_eye

At least SL will win this one and move on to the second round.

Tigers_eye
May 3, 2010, 11:39 AM
Zim would lose the match by 14 runs if the game is over now. That would take SL's NRR above NZ's. So they are through.

Zimbabwe missed the trick by not going after the bowling early here

al-Sagar
May 3, 2010, 11:48 AM
Five overs completed, so this game has a result now. As of now, Sri Lanka are ahead. Zimbabwe needed to be 43 at this stage.

SL wons by 14 runs, DL method

al-Sagar
May 3, 2010, 12:17 PM
West Indies have won the toss and England will be batting first

Tigers_eye
May 3, 2010, 12:26 PM
Zimbabwe missed the trick by not going after the bowling early here
or fake an injury when the rain start-stop was on. One less ball and there wouldn't have been any result and they would share the points.
