Sakib should also play if he has recovered as he did almost nothing in the 1st match. Otherwise Junaed comes in the team.

Seems there is no chance for a better squad from Essex either.
They are now playing 4-day match against Kent which will end on May, 13. It is highly unlikely that on the next day they will allow their top players to play against us.

I feel sorry that the boys have to play in this cool chilly damp weather, it gets to your bones, anyhow, end of May should be better weather. I lived in England in 2005/2006, so I know, sunshine will arrive but it will never be be more 65 degrees F, now it may be about 50 degrees F.

It was 80 degrees F last week, than last week it was only just 40 degrees F, my body couldnt adjust to the rapid climate change. But they'll be fine it's only going to take a few days. If anything their bodies should be adjusted to this climate already

all these three batsmen play with very high back-lift and they often struggle to keep the pace with pitch and ball. So no wonder they all got bowled ! the early the adjust with bat timing, the better for them and for BD as well !

lol..he got out the very next ball. BUt I'm glad he got out for the following reasons:

1) If he scores so many now, there's no way he'll score in the tests. He's had enough practice last two matches
2) He did score very fluently in this match, which will only increase his confidence. At the same time, his hunger remains.
3) Guys like Naeem and Riyad need more match practice now..it would've been nice to see them in a 150 run partnership in a practice match..

As I was typing Riyad got out. Naeem now only has tailenders with him, so can't blame or rely on him..RIyad really needs to find form in this horrible time, with Sakib possibly out and Tamim recovering..all the more reason why Ash firing up is important.

I don't even know if this is a regular second XI...we would do really well if we dont lose this...but without sakib I hate to think about this bowling..

that premise is based on the idea that champaka has some prior track record of success. but where is it?

vaas was way before his time, malinga is a freak occurence, fernando is a shahadat clone with increased muscle mass. actually fernando probably doesn' have a single test fiver, making him even worse.

shafiul's success cannot be attributed to champaka, at least not net.

i just don't think he's the right guy. get allan donald, get waqar, get andy roberts, get shane bond perhaps. don't get some now namer unless he has a track record - which would then mean he is no longer a no-namer.

Its a combination of the massive backlift and lack of knowledge of these early season English Conditions. But they fought well to get to 231 thanks to Ashraful and the lower order. Though I'd expect better from an improving side vs Essex B (No ten Doeschate, James Foster, and 2 players on debut)

very poor performance by the batsmen..had it not been 4 shafiul, rajib, and raj then we would have been bundled out 4 fewer then 200 runs which is sad considering this was a 2nd string sussex squad..only batsman that played well was ash and the rest just failed..I know this is a practice match but english conditions is gonna test our batsmen 4 sure..hopefully they learn from this experience and bat better 2nd innings..

I get it, our thing is spin, but I hate it when Shakib (or any other 'isskipers' in the past would bring on the spinners in the 3rd over with the new ball). Our fast bowlers are weak, if there is anything they can do, they can when the ball is new. You wont get anything from them when the ball is old.

sometimes we score very less, the pitch in dhaka s so flat that nothing for pacers, and we feel time to introduce spinner straight away to put pressure.

there has been times when in ODI when our pacers get clobbered right away. specially with the fielding restriction on we don't want them putting too much run on the board in those 15 overs. so they bring in spin to slow down the run flow.

I have a bad feeling about Ashraful. He is scoring now, so he wont score.

But I hope this is a new begin for Ash (we say that every time). But this is it. This is where he was most consistence. England (0,100,95,50,0). If he can start here and start avg.ing 30-35, he will be pretty popular. He is already entertaining. Many fans around the world, but many hates him more, because his dumb choices and inconsistency.

He needs to get at least 2 100s here. And its not asking for much really. He is the sr. player here, only guy on the team who toured Eng before. He needs to step up.

I gree with you..I have been dying to see the pacers in action more often.. I also find it very stupid to get spinners into the first 5-6 overs, which we do most of the time...First couple of times it worked sinceit was a surprise, but now its just non-sense. Often I see razzak bowling the 6th over or so..what's with that. Sometimes he even opens..he still gets hit from the 2nd over, and the opposition batsmen just get to settle into spin when they're still getting their eye in..with someone like Razzak who doesn't give any flight, I'd rather milk him during the first ten than face a semi-erratic bowler who can give me a jam of a delivery once every over while my feet are still not moving..

Other thing is...Sakib and Siddons both keep saying our pace department is crap and the pacers are slow...how is this supposed to help? By not ever taking the risks with them, they are not allowed to grow. Donald is stuck at Warwickshire, Waqar coach of Pakistan, Bond has retired probably going back to being a policeman. Roberts doesn't do full time coaching. You don't need someone of reputation to be a coach look at the bowling coaches of the other nations they are not well known but are well versed in the art of bowling. You usually get good bowling coaches from grass roots levels that head coaches of cricket team have come to know throughout their playing days or contacts.

From what I saw off Jahurul, he might have some serious problems facing Anderson, Sidebottom etc. I hope I am proved wrong, but his backlift is way too big, but good thing is his trigger movement is towards the backfoot. Still, i will be pleasantly surprised if Jahurul scores some runs in the tests.
Also Imrul and Zunayed are bound to struggle in England, the only batsmen who may have an impact in England are :Ash, Tamim, Mushy, Riyad, Shakib. I really do not expect anything from the others[including Nayeem]

he did well in keeping with few good catches but i think it impacted negatively on his batting. Due to keeping, he may have been tired as he is not regular keeper. I think, Mushy should do keeping and let Jahurul focus on his batting !
