I don't think we have attained that age & standard of looking for all time fav. Still our current team is better than anytime before. All due respect for the old plaers, Except Bulbul I'm sure none others would get a place in the current team, due to technical def. If you hear our recorded commentary, you will hear a sentence 90% of times....... "shojore ghuriechen, kintu bat e ball e hoy ni" Tells pretty much our technical ability. I only find bulbul who confirms in my all time fav list, Tamim has the potential...... but a long way to go yet.

But yes, in terms of character, we can pick a few favs... like Akram and bulbul will always be there, then nannu and Pilot. Rokibul could be very inspiring for our test players.. (Although too slow, even more than JO)

My Tiger XI:
1. Tamim Iqbal
2. Nafees Iqbal
3. Mohammed Ashraful
4. Habibul Bashar
5. Aminul Islam
6. Akram Khan
7. Khaled Mashud Pilot (wk/c)
8. Khaled Mahmud Shujon (vc)
9. Shakib Al-Hasan
10. Mashrafee Bin Mortaza
11.Mohammed Rafique

Coach: Eddie Barlow
(Board President: Shaber Hossain)

My XI is made not of the best players ever necessarily, but those who had the heart of tigers. Each of them has their own immortal story.
1. Tamim- v India '07 and continuing
2. Nafees- For scoring that 100 at practice and then calling English spinners ordinary. Still makes me smile. We know where his brother gets his arrogance from:)
3. Ashraful- Debut century at 17 and our first international star.
4. Best test performer for 3-4 years. Good off-field captain.
5. 145 on our test debut. He did not have the ability to do it but it was pure inspiration..to make our country proud.
6. That innings against Holland in 97 ICC WC qualifier.
7. Pilot- Best ever keeper. And for helping build a great Rajshahi team and guiding its stars.
8. Shujon- 99WC. Our current generation of players are crazy about him.
9. Shakib Al-Hasan- For those numerous 5-fors with spin in test cricket.
10. Mashrafee Mortaza- our first ever pacer, who barring injuries, could've been our Glenn McGrath and more.
11. Mohammed Rafique- legend of our game.

Coach- For his vision in developing our cricket.
Saber C- For a great few years in running our board.

I think some of us are confused about the favorite team, say my favorite team is Bangladesh. But its not the best team in the world. And if I got the idea right, this is my favorite team[I am always biased towards them]
Tamim Iqbal
Mehrab Hossain Opi/Aminul Islam Bulbul
Ashraful
Atahar Ali Khan
Habibul Bashar
Mushfiqur Rahim
Shakib Al Hassan
Khaled Masud
Mohd. Rafique
Mashrafe Mortaza
Khaled Mahmud

Obviously, if the above XI is sent to play a cricket game, they might lose against almost any opponent. But I always liked the above players, they have all done something which will make them immortal in BD cricketing history.

I almost agree with you. Followings are the changes I would make:
2. For test team I might pick Roquibul Hasan (Not the selfish one).
3. Selim Shahed (may be). Habibul is fine too.
4. Aminul Islam Bulbul
7. Khaled Masud Pilot
11. Md Rafique.

Its funny that you are the first one to include Nannu, arguably the pre-test era best bastman of BD.

....

Agree with you. I don't think any of the older pacer would get any chance in the present squad. People are naming Shanto but he was actually nothing special compare to the present pacers we have.

From the previous generation players Atahar Ali Khan would have easily get the chance in the present test squad. He showed several times in the past that he can handle the international bowlers. Just Bangladesh was not playing international matches that regularly like present days. He was a classy stylish batsman.

auntu bhai and banfan bhai ... u misread the thread a bit i think. check what i said

pick ur all time favorite 11 from all the BD players u have seen playing since ur birth till today.

its NEED NOT be the BEST 11, it NEEDs to be your MOST FAVOURITE players

i am not asking for the all time great 11 or something like that. just put all ur favourite players, the players u most liked.

the thread is about your FAVOURITE all time XI, rather than what you think is the BEST all time XI. so it doesn't have to be the best team, just your favourite one.

Thanks Ananna, for agreeing with me. Like me you seem to be following Bangladesh cricket since they began their international journey.

Quite an effective way to distinguish between the old and new Roquibul Hasans. Lol!
I also like the changes you made, except Rafiq for Lintu. I don't know whether you have seen Lintu, who was a genius as a student and arguably the best Bangladeshi spinner ever.

First I'd like to say WOW u REMEMBER MORSHED ALI KHAN!!!!!!! I LOVED HIMM!!!!! He was such a good bowler! Whatever happened to him???

Anyways, my all time BD XI would be (ENTIRELY on playing ability and not anything else):

Athar Ali Khan
Tamim Iqbal
Shahriar Nafees
Rajin Saleh
Aminul Islam (c)
Shakib Al Hasan
Khaled Mashud (WK)
Minhajul Abedin
Mohammad Rafique
Mashrafee Mortaza

Some of these guys over here are pretty new, like Shafiul, but I think honestly they would be better than any of our previous STRICTLY MEDIUM pacers on any given day overall.
