Though the title may indicate this is a joke thread, it's not. Mostafa Kamal has actually been appointed head of Asian cricket!

I really hope it means he's leaving BCB but I doubt it..we need someone who has vast cricket knowledge rather then a political buffoon like Kamal..I blame him the most for our failures this year..having my fingers crossed that he's leaving BCB..

What happens him being a MP? Is he allowed to live abroad? I am afraid he might be the ACC and BCB president simultaneously!! I hope not.

I was thinking the same. A Bangladeshi person[disregard the individual in this case] is the head of all cricketing activities in Asia. This is indeed a great thing for us. Not really an achievement as the ACC chief position is rotated amongst the top countries, but an almost unimaginable thing 15 years back.

Oohh no no...chi chi...eki bolchen dadas.....

Mostafa Kamal Lotus a ruling party Member of the Bangladesh Perliament (Awami League) and Chairman BCB (Bangladesh Cricket Board) and also some very upper level governing body's member of Abahoney Krira Chakra the club in Bangladesh. And now he will become the chairperson of ACC Asian Cricket Council in Malayasia I think for the next 2 years. He is a big businessman/Industrialist I believe in Dhaka, Bangladesh and he is very rich and super powerful.

There are various interesting and rich in info threads on Lutus Kamal, please search and you shall find. Good stuff.

Does this mean Syed Ashraful Huq – Ex Officio; ACC Chief Executive, will return to run BCB? That might be good as this guy is highly regarded in cricket world and was part of BCB during Test Status drama. But I guess he might just continue as CEO with Mr Lotus being the President. Presidency probably is something that rolls over to different Country representatives year on year.

This is a rotating position, and for information's sake, not the first time held by a Bangladeshi. It will take a powerful organizer with eyes well in to the future to make anything meaningful out of this position, unless, of course, you are an indian.

So, no congrats in order, nothing dramatic or dynamic, and specially no worries of an incompetent leadership for ACC. ACC is owned and run by eendians and will remain so for the foreseeable future. Lotus is there to keep the Chief's seat warm during meetings for the next two years.

i am not sure but i can give some hint.

his full name is AHM MUSTAFA KAMAL. not sure whether LOTUS is actually his original nick name or not. he is the owner and Chairman of LOTUS-KAMAL (L-K) Group. the group includes 15-20 enterprises such as lotus engineering, lotus - kamal spinning and textile mills, LK knitwear, LK -electronics, LK pharma, Lotus Holdings etc. the HEAD office of the group is at LOTUS KAMAL TOWER.

he has always used the name LOTUS in most of his businesses. and mostafa kamal being a common name in BD, later on he became popular more as LOTUS KAMAL as owner of LOTUS KAMAL group.

Ah! What a delight!

So what's wrong with John Howard being ICC vice-president? He could at least fight these two..racism power.WIth Sharad Power now being ICC president and Lotus ACC president, all we would need now is for a Pakistani to be ECB president. In twenty years cricket would turn into a sport as obscure as squash.

I doubt he'd leave BCB. But if only he would appoint Syed Ashraful Haque as CEO. even that guy would take our cricket ahead, as opposed to the backwards run for the last 8 years.
