Siddons obviously needs to go. He may be good as a batting coach, but his negative mindset overshadows anything positive he has to offer.

Sujon and Salahuddin, I believe, still have lot to offer to Bangladesh cricket. So, I don't want to see them completely removed from the scene of Bangladesh cricket, but for now they should be sent back to the academy. I suspect they have played their parts in sectionalism in the team and their further influence should not be risked.

I would go lenient on Mashrafe. This was practically his first tour as the captain. Also, Siddons undermined his leadership from the very beginning.

Current selection committee obviously needs to go. Their inconsistent selection policy plays a big role why players nowadays plays for individual glories, not for team goals.

It will be unrealistic to expect any change in BCB, but I still sincerely hope Mahbub Anam or whoever else responsible for the cramped schedule this Spring-Summer will be given the kick.

i think bangladesh played too many games in the last few months.

tri series in bangladesh
a test series against india
a full series in new zealand
a full series against england in bangladesh
twenty20 world cup
a full series against england in england
asia cup
associates

bangladesh team was looking fine untl the old trafford test, after that test they started to go downhill (except for the bristol win).

it is not a lame excuse. try to play 30 international games (that includes 7 test matches) in around 6 months, you will understand how it feels.

Make rotation system. So players wont be fatigued and get more exposure to new players and less injury

ya, we need a break for sure, a break from JAMIE SIDDONS. He should be locked away from the players for next 18 months, until the WC is over. Just like Shakib was locked up when he had chicken pox.

And we fans need a break from these sore losers. We are tired of typing all these stuff.

we do not have enough good players to make a rotation system.

well Bangladesh will have a pretty good break. It will give the players to fix their mistakes and improve on skills. Sakib will be playing county meaning he will learn more specially with batting. Tamim needs to relax and Mashrafee needs to keep working regularly at a steady pace.

u r right.
1st of all this is not a lame excuse,it's the fact, the players r tired both mentally & physically.
Before when we used to play fewer matches the body language of the players was so positive.:-|
And as far as excuses(lame) are concerned I heard worst from big teams.
Like the Eng players in the Carribean Test when they failed there were some excuses like living away from wife, children, girlfriend etc.
Same I heard from the Aussies.

To add to my first post, I think Bulbul should be given the charge of the team. Siddons brought us to such a low level that no foreign coach will dare to be associated with Bangladesh team at this point. Also, a foreigner will take longer to get familiar with our stock of players and to come up with an effective strategy for them, even if the coach is a capable one. As far as local coaches go, Bulbul, imo, is the best.

Sujon could have been the other option, but as I said before, we need a clean break from current management.

Well, there will be no change in the selection committee before the WC'11 -

http://dailykalerkantho.com/?view=details&type=gold&data=International&pub_no=231&cat_id=1&menu_id=18&news_type_id=1&index=1

Rafiqul Alam admitted he has no problem licking the boots of BCB bosses, ie to change the team according to their wishes. There is no wonder an incompetent person like him staying as the chief selector for this long!

A local senior coach will probably be good for us, as I see things more clearer now than before.

One of our team's major reasons for failing to learn from foreign coaches is the boys' lack of English knowledge/communication skills/ expressibility or the foreign coach's lack of knowledge of Bengali, vice versa. It is totally absolutely absurd to even think for a second that these 15/16 young men can really understand English properly, even working-wise I mean, and I mean at a level where one can confortably recieve critique, instruction, correction, technical analysis, technical explanation from the coach etc. And let alone sport psychology, speak baout personal problem and feelings, emotions and so on complex everyday stuff about these players I don't think these coaches (foreign) really understand. We are speaking in different language, understanding of life and culture, this is NOT working out, simple and clear.

We get it, you want to see Bangladesh humiliated further before your dear Jaime leaves the country, you don't have to repeat yourself so frequently!

If JS did go - who do you think could replace him with less than a year until the World Cup. Do you think Khaled Mahmud could do the job or do we need an international coach ?

Shameless...

We need break, but we should not stop preparing for the NZ tour. There is lot to do rather than an official practice sessions.

-We should start planning and preparing pitches according to our strength for the NZ tour before it is too late.

- We lack a second specialist spinner in out Test team. Involve a coach to work with the players like Enam jr, Shohrowardy Shuvo, Nur Hossain, Mahmudul Hasan, Nabil Samad. Work with them and report to the selectors about what they can offer against NZ tour. Surely Razzak is not going to work in Tests.

Small adjustments and planning can make big differences.
First of all, we need to decide to play for the win. Not for taking the match to the 5th day!!

agree with all.

for the last point. our first target should be trying to win. second target should be trying to draw. no other targets.
